I wish the new trend was to NOT spend thousands of dollars and (in many cases) going into debt to throw a giant party you won’t be able to enjoy and instead to focus on actually making the MARRIAGE successful 🤦🏾♀️

yeaaa new wedding trends but yet divorce rates are going up like crazy....ppl are focusing on the wedding too much and not the marriage. What's the sense spending thousands of dollars for the perfect ring, dress, cake etc and after year one everyone is in court. some even divorced before completing paying off the wedding loan. just go simple yo'. all this glam and its still empty...
Weddings have become an excuse for a big ceremony with an all night after party. A marriage is only a temporary, legal relationship now.

When a woman has been married a few times, pink, blue, and green is popular.
I became allergic to my original diamond wedding ring set. I now have an aquamarine (my birthstone) and I love it!
If you still have your original diamond wedding, ring set, think about having it reset in a different metal. You can never have too many wedding rings.
My engagement ring was an aquamarine also (my birthstone) in the early 90's.
28 year's ago my wedding ring is Diamonds and Blue Sapphires, I get so many compliments on it and it's a one of a kind, love my wedding ring, plus Sapphires is my Birth stone. 😊
I still love white, ivory, and champagne dresses, even ones with hues of colorin it, But i loved the different color stones for rings
Lab grown does not mean cheaper....those prices are close to the same thing as natural diamonds.
I have a garnet stone ring with a diamond wedding band, married 7 years now and love my ring. Garnet’s always been my favorite stone and happens to be my husband’s birth stone.
I think Laura Ingles had a garnet wedding ring. It’s in the books.
They tell u lab diamonds are awesome when you buy them, then not worth a thing if u need to return it.

In general, whether lab grown or natural, I think you won't get the money back
Not even natural diamonds hold their value. Only precious metals. During the Great Recession, I had family who needed to pawn or consign diamond jewelry. The demand wasn't there for the stones, only the metal. In the end, it's all ornamental.

I’m getting married and I really want a purple dress instead of white. But it’s hard to find and I don’t want to get it custom made.
Maybe find a bridesmaid's dress that is close to the style & is the color you want & work with a dressmaker to have it customized to look more "bridey".
Buy a white one and have it dyed to the color you want
I wore a blue silk wedding dress that came in white, pink or blue for my wedding. The vows were in a church that was 350 yrs old. I loved the stark simplicity of the architecture, so no flowers to interrupt the lines. I married on a Friday. The reception in a garden in Old Town Alexandria under two tents. I hired a magician to entertain the guests and children while we took a carriage ride to the reception. I loved my wedding.
My in-laws who hosted the wedding, then used the wedding tent for a party tent for her work on Saturday and his work on Sunday. It was a Memorial Day weekend so they had off to relax and recover on Monday.
I think the total cost was $5,000 plus they used everything (tent, tableware, tables, etc) for my wedding for the parties the following days.
My husband and myself have been married 15 years and got married at the house of an ordained natural healer, it's a memory that was unique to us and different, our love will last forever when you are soul mates it's easy
I love my mystic topaz engagement ring. It’s chemically altered topaz to be green and pink in tone. I have smaller amethyst and moonstone on the band too. I love how colorful it is, still 8 years later 😊.

Another new wedding trend idea... small ceremony for the actual marriage day and a huge celwbration of love wedding to renew vows at milestones like 10, 25 or 50 years! Have all the wedding bells and whistles from besutiful venue, gown and florals to thoughtful gifts for the couple who are so in love after all these years they wanted to share it with their family and friends.
As someone who never saw themselves doing anything traditional for their wedding, this was enjoyable to watch. I absolutely love the idea of a courthouse wedding. Just immediate family and maybe 1 or 2 very close friends. I would much prefer a garnet engagement ring over a traditional diamond one. (My Birthstone) I just think it would be so pretty and unique. I definitely would not go for a traditional wedding dress and would very much be open to color.

The colored dresses translate to a debut/quinceanera party than a wedding. But a cute trend for those who want to be unique.
I’m so proud of my son and daughter in law as they chose non traditional rings, a civil ceremony and chose to save money versus a lavish wedding that would be over in a few hours. I know that is not for everyone but with the cost housing they wanted a head start on home ownership.
It’s amazing the lengths people will go to get likes and shares. Let’s add the over the top “gender reveals” and proms to the list. 🤦🏾♂️
While me and my husband used mined rings, we got married in a golden yellow dress and suit 8 years ago. Very glad that we did cuz the gold and bronze looked so beautiful on me 🤎🧡
My wife and I have been married 23 yrs and we got married in a flower shop, thru the justice of the peace.
My best friend and her best friend were there, that was it. Nothing fancy, we just wanted to be together.

Colored stones, sapphires, rubies, all sorts have been “traditional” wedding rings of the past. Nothing new there, but I’m really happy they’re in! They’re beautiful. And this means one day they’ll be out again, and I can buy more! Bwahahaha. 🥰

I told my husband not to spend more than 500$ on my ring. I spent 50 on his. We love them. I hated dresses you find in the stores. They all look identical. I found mine on etsy for 200$. Still white but I loved it.

Not to mention 75% of Lab Growb Diamonds come from China and India where they don't care about the environment and the bosses abuse their workers.

In regards to wedding dress color, I’ve always found white wedding dresses so boring! I’m glad color is now a thing!
Lab grown diamonds are cheaper and don’t contribute to the blood diamonds trade and human suffering that diamond mining brings. Diamonds are basically valueless and the metal is really only worth something long term. Make your wedding all your own and don’t try to make it something for other peoples expectations. It’s about love, not a dress or cake.
If lab diamonds are identical to real diamonds then if you have tray full of lab and real diamonds, you would not be able to tell which is which, correct?
They are identical in the same way as identical twins. The genetic make up is the same but you can see a difference still. My jeweler said most people can’t tell but for someone with a trained eye they can see the difference.

white dresses are just lame attempts to copy the british royalty- and even then the white dress isnt some ancient tradition, it was started by queen victoria ( elizabeth's grandma)

Ancient Rome brides wore white with a veil. In the 1800s it was cream or ivory dresses. Pure white dresses I believe came around the 1920's or 30's.

You're fooling yourself if you think they're the same. They're NOT even close - do they cost the same, Nope. Are they insured the same, NOPE. do they increase in value the same, NOPE.
Lab diamonds do not increase in value but they look the same as mined diamonds. A diamond is not an investment. I traded mine in after I broke up with my fiancé. I know he paid $3,000 for the ring, but I only received $1, 000. If I had to do it all over again, I would get a lab diamond.
@@donnadrane4977 JEWELRY IS an investment. Retail and Resale within a few years or months is NOT an investment. Just cause your trade in value was less doesn't mean the diamond is worth less.

Why? I'd instead put the ring money towards a house or condo. I wish that were a thing 35 years ago. My husband worked two jobs to afford my ring. His choice because I wouldn't have wanted him to do that for a diamond.
