At 0:25 - left hand plays 7/8\7 in one motion. Right hand pick 7, left hand slide forward to 8, left hand slide back to 7. So pick once but play 3 notes. For technique, the trick is the left hand thumb must stay rooted and not move. Can only move the left hand wrist and/or fingers. Also try not to use so much energy, it should be a relaxed motion. Lastly to make it sound good the timing must be precise, so practice at slow pace with metronome before building to speed.
