The long response talks can be stopped by setting the 'max_response_sentences' from the default 999 to 2. Then the NPC's will only tell you about 2 sentences each time.
I think in another 10 years maybe AI will be useful in games and even movies the voices are so robotic/monotone. A few newer games are doing this I can immediately spot that it's AI.
To be honest, the tech isn't the limiter at the moment. I bet there are plenty of AAA games that have used AI voices as a quick band-aid that nobody has ever noticed. There are two hurdles for more realistic voices for something like AI Skyrim. 1. Current best solutions are cost prohibitive. ElevenLabs is probably the best option and that's 22$ a month (if you pay annually) for only 2 hours of audio. 2. The only reasonable/cost-effective option is to run the voice synthesis locally (if you have the hardware to run it) which is pretty good but not anywhere near as good as ElevenLabs or similar services. It's a balancing act. IMO it's worth it to have such fast response times. In the last livestream, characters respond within 1/2 a second to 1 second which is pretty damn good. Considering LLMs and Stable Diffusion went from needing a render farm in 2021 to being able to run on 8 year old GPUs in 2022/2023, I think the TTS tech is gonna advance just as fast. This is all gonna be ancient history 12 months from now. Anyway, just my thoughts. Hope you enjoyed the video!
Probably not. It's a fairly complicated process and I would generally recommend a text guide at bare minimum and maybe watch a set up video alongside it if you're having some trouble. If you're interested in the Mantella mod, I would recommend using their installation guide here: art-from-the-machine.github.io/Mantella/pages/installation.html . The page also links to video guides but the text guide is better IMO. If you're asking about the Living Skyrim mod list, you can find info on how to install it via Wabbajack at www.wabbajack.org/ I've updated the description of the video for more links and info about the mods and setup. Question! What Language Model are you useing?
In this first video, I think I was using Llama 3 8B locally. After this video I started using Llama 3 70B Instruct via OpenRouter.
I dislike the PC attitude of all the AI NPC, all they do is apologise all the time. Not at all a reflection of Skyrims original npc dialogues
