Good Morning Al and family. We just fill a 5 gallon bucket halfway with water, put enough black sunflower seeds to cover the top of the water and put a stick hovering over the seeds for the mouse to crawl up. The sunflower seeds looks like a solid surface, so the mouse will get in and can't get out. I'm not sure if you have already done that. I am catching up on old vlogs. I'm so glad your leg is okay. I'm not a mean person, but I couldn't stop laughing at how nonchalant you were. But, back to work, things to do, no time to rest. We love your family and hope to one day be as self sufficient as your family is.

My husband and I both retired on December 6, 2020. Our plan for 2020 was to get our home ready to sell so we can get out of the Arizona heat. Our plans have been somewhat derailed when our son in law was deployed out of Fort Bragg, NC to the Middle East. Our daughter moved back in with us so we could help her with their son. I want to buy property so that we can grow some of our food and raise some animals. The COVID Crisis didn’t help either. Here’s hoping 2021 will be better and we can make our plans happen!

You're Kinda running with the nail gun accident, so keep in mind, farmers get hurt quite often so start picking up your messes as you make them, less chance of injury. When scooping cookie dough, keep a container of water to dip your scoop in from time to time. It makes scooping much faster and easier and saves time. Dip your scoop in the water, shake off the excess and scoop away. Nice job on the dough.

Gina looks like she's herding chickens as she walks down to the goat milking station, lol. And I really love how Willow (is that the mom?) and Nora always look like goat + mini-me, even facing the same direction, whenever you check on the goats in their stall.
I have a couple of questions, well, one question and one suggestion. Can you sprinkle the type of concrete that sets up rapidly on top of the gravel you just spread out so that there is less erosion? And the suggestion: I think making raised flower beds on two or three sides of the pig butchering area would really dress it up for the times it's not being used.

I tried baking my own cookies once. Made 9 dozen; thought I would get ahead.
But you know you have to taste test a few along the way.
By the time I finished baking, I had 3 cookies left. 😒
    I'm a cookiholic. 😜

Back away from the cookies ~8^) Sounds like you may need a 24 step program .... I doubt a 12 step one would do. The 1st step would be to send all those cookies to me, where they would be "safe".

Lol. Somehow I never even end up with one. My husband and kidlets tell me they’re just protecting me by “taste-testing for poison”. They’re very good at their jobs. 🙄

I first started watching your videos right as you began your outdoor kitchen build, seems like it was just last year! But I was noticing today how the kitchen has weathered; it looks so old now! Wow, especially compared to your barn & garage, lol.

It is definitely baking weather! And, the aroma of the fresh-baked goodies is too much of a temptation. By the way, the broken egg and the flour mess were great! The messes are part of my routine!

2020 has been mostly the same for us..... except maybe supply shortages. But not too big a deal for us because of where we live. We buy in bulk and store a lot of extra goods because I shop once every month or 2 because the store is 2 hours away. We eat wild game, grow our own produce, and we are mostly self sufficient and have been for years. I feel blessed that the good Lord provided this life for us❤️❤️❤️

Use Truegrid in front of the greenhouse to make it easier to manage erosion, snow plowing and for esthetics.

Gina I laughed with you and the egg incident. I had a similar issue 2 days ago however I was making breakfast and I have a gas stove with grates. I cracked the egg on the counter by the pan and it broke completely on the first try and the egg slid right down over the grate and into the well. One would think it would have cooked but it didn't. I had to turn off the gas and clean everything up. Only the yolk survived to be fried. The White part kept sliding around and ended up in the garbage. The egg only cooked on the grate part. Got it all cleaned up and started again except by this time the bacon and toast was cold. It happens to the best of us. LOL

You will be needing an airlock for your greenhouse so you don't lose all your heat. A compost pile inside will help heat without cost then in spring just take it in.
