Had a Chinese friend serve me warm water with some herbs to all our meals.
I found it weird at first, but she told me that "cold water and warm food would only make trouble in the stomach" and that I had to choose whether to cool down or heat up.
Helping the body keep up heat, gave the body time to do other things. Drinking cold water would make the job harder for the body, and the gut and brain would be less prioritized and suffer.
I still drink cold water, but sometimes I choose tea, and think about this. And after all, I know my body calms down with warm drinks. Glad to hear this being backed up!

05:30 I totally sense what you are saying regarding heat and health. I have friends who, after many failed attempts to have a baby (miscarriages, etc), went to see a Chinese doctor. He said the mother should be warm at anytime and not to ever get anything cold around her belly (no cold baths, no going in the swimming pool, always cover her stomach in winter with an extra protection). And indeed, they now have a baby at long last.

For those with excess buccal & submental padding such as myself, I *have* to use an iced tool directly on my lower face because this works incredibly well to smooth/contour my face down. I've applied water before applying oil or Vaseline to retain and absorb it in the skin. I experimented on my son's eczema...good outcome

Found this incredibly helpful and insightful - also spritzing face before using facial oil , don’t live in USA and not a Kardashian fan 🪭- but I understand why you used her as example of what not to do ! Thank you 🙏🏻

I've always wondered what the benefits of using gua sha tools are (like the ones you've designed and used here) instead of just hands. Even though I'm gentle, I feel intuitively that using just my hands is better, but maybe I'm using the gua sha tools incorrectly?
This video was so insightful and educational! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and instruction.

Using tools allows us to have more power, go deeper, get more results, etc! Using your hands is great for facial massage -- but it won't be Gua Sha! Gua Sha by definition is with a tool.

Thank you so much for sharing this information. I was curious about gua sha and wanted to get into it, but it is very hard to find information about traditional gua sha on the internet! I would have loved to buy a book, but I couldn't find any. I really want to learn more before I try it out and will watch more of your videos

Good information. I just got my kit. I used green tea extract and followed a TH-cam video for my first time. I only did the left side. I could see the difference. The oil didn't aggravate my skin either so thats a plus.
