PNC is a bucket list park for me! I grew up loving Bonds, Bonilla and Van Slyke. The first fitted hat I ever saved up for and bought as a kid was a Pirates hat, haha. Skenes is so fun now, too. Happy New Year!
Orion is great! It comes from Okinawa. It's tough to get a hold of and when you do, it usually is a bit expensive because it's imported and not brewed under license (from what I understand) like Sapporo and Kirin
Goin' international, nice! It's been ages since I've had this. Japanese beers, if I can generalize, are nothing if not exceedingly clean, clear, and crisp. Like you, I only drink them when I'm having Japanese cuisine, but when I do they hit the spot in ways American macros do not. Cheers and happy 2025!
This brings to mind two Japanese beers I haven't had in forever, and miss a lot. 1.) Orion draft beer. Orion is the 5th largest brewery in Japan and they're based in Okinawa. 2.) Another is Echigo Koshihikari - it's a rice lager I haven't had since I lived in Hawai'i. You really have to go out of your way to find this stuff on the east coast.
Happy New year, JOW! Also, I 've noted enjoying your beer reviews but admittedly tune in with equal interest to see what WWF gold you're featuring in the background. Great choice with Hulkster vs (Heel version) Sgt Slaughter. Bonus for it being a match with, the late, "Col 'Iron Sheik' Mustafa", "General Adnan " ringside. Thanks!
I am visiting Japan at present. Kirin Ichiban in Japan was always my pick over here and quite a bit better than what Kirin brews in the USA IMO. On this trip I have encountered Kirin Ichiban marked with 新 'New". The new formula is a big step back for me with the hops dialed down and sweetness dialed up. Oh, well. I will just have to stick to the amazing, well price sake over here. Poor me! I did try a can of Lowebrau brewed in Korea the other day that was decent. C'est la vie.
Actually had a pint of this for the first time last week. Wasn't too impressed with it as it lost its head pretty quick. Maybe just a bad pint/pour. Have you tried any BrewDog beers before? They are pretty popular here. Would be interested to hear your take on their beers. 🍻 Cheers Happy New year
I wish this jewel would return to my town. Also, I went to games at the Pittsburgh Pirates' ballpark in 2004 & 2014. I loved it, and I drove there.

This is a common beer, though. Orion is one I keep hearing about that I need to try.
I’ve never heard of Orion (I don’t think?). I’ll add it to the list 🍻
Oh, heck yeah - Orion is GOATed.
@dakotafisher8400 for whatever reason, not as common in Japanese restaurants I've been to nor in stores that I know of.

@@jessesteele7269 I'll definitely go for it when I come across some

Now we're talking! A normal beer again

I’ve never heard of Orion but others mentioned it. I need to seek it out!

Just noticed, It's Warrior not hulkster. I'm So ashamed!
Haha no worries! It’s hard to see the TVs 😆

I am so jealous of you being in Japan!! Have some onigiri for me! 🍻🍻
Sapporo Dark is my favorite Japanese beer.
I’ve never had Sapporo Dark! I need to add that to the list 🍻
Sapporo in the steel 22oz can for $3 is the best deal in town.
I love those cans, ha. 🍻

I don’t see much BrewDog here unfortunately 🍻
This is isn't as good as the real Kirin in Japan. Brewed under license is not the same, imo
I honestly don’t remember drinking Kirin when I visited Japan. I wish I would have!
I will drink the American version though! It's good
