    We were in Charlestown on tuesday Gary and we always visit the Rashleigh Arms for their lovely fish & chips. Its their annual Regatta and Carnival on thursday which we are going to see. We've also stayed in Wadebridge before, i just love everythig about Cornwall and so happy that we are here for another week and we have already booked for next year, trouble is i never want to go home 😂
    Thank you for that lovely chat and walk. Janice.

    That looks to be a nice relaxing walk, a walk like that is meant to be enjoyed. Taking in all the scenery and appreciating it all especially when you go back to chugs .And it's great to get some alone time.

    That was quite busy with bikes that day. We cycled from Wadebridge to Padstow the week before and it was quiet. Next time we will cycle from Wadebridge to Bodmin. Apparently there is a pub halfway along. Wadebridge is lovely. In fact, when we were house hunting, we were looking in Wadebridge. You must have been worn out after that walk. xx

    The smell of the sea air and the fresh looking country side trails looked so tranquil, but for the passing cyclists that almost run into you, was exhilarating to the soul. Great Vlog Gary. It almost feels like we're back in the 70's. 😎

    I used to spend my summer holidays in Charlestown . A family friend call Mrs Dutton lived in a cottage opposite the pub . She owned the Duchy pottery just up the road , producing ceramic souvenirs. Thank you for bringing back wonderful memories . Back in the 1970s the harbour was a working port for the China clay . We lived in Cheshire and the M5 used to finish at Bristol making it a 12 hour drive . 🙏

    • @GaryCaptainPhillips
      @GaryCaptainPhillips  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So much history there, the clay stores are still there but the fishing boats are now gone too

    • @dancingweaselproductions7245
      @dancingweaselproductions7245 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GaryCaptainPhillips the Schooner that appeared in the TV series “ The Onedin line “used to be moored there . In the 70s it was a rather plain working port compared to neighbouring towns such as Mevagissey and Polperro . At high tide the lock gate would lay flat and allow China clay ships into the basin , seeing them navigate the tight turn was fascinating.

    I thought the tour de France was going on, alot of people are not interested in history, they couldn't care less. You see alot of history along the canals, I don't live in England and I wouldn't see any of the scenery along the canals and learn about every place only for you and people like you. I'm from across the water where the little people live.

    • @verali164
