    Oh Gary, this one was just chock-full of so many wonderful sights and scenes. I just loved watching you, Nicky and the kids dipping your feet in the cold water and sand on such a beautiful and charming beach. The stable conversion to a tea room was also charming, I'm really getting the itch to visit Nicky's home town. May God continue to bless your little family, we all just love following you guy's as you share a bit of your life with us.

      @@GaryCaptainPhillips we wanted to move to North Devon years ago when the kids were still young but sadly it never happened. We have family in Abbotsham and Apledore near Biddeford so visit as often as we can. The weather is supposed to stay hot for a while yet so make the most of it and enjoy your time there together 👍

    Fantastic wander. I really enjoyed seeing the Gunnera growing on the river bank, lovely plants.
    I read a series of books written in Cornwall, I think they started either in the late 50's or early 60's wonderful reads, all of them. I suspect they were written in the time of Nicky's parents or grandparents childhood. "The Minack Chronicles" I recommend them, should you ever come across any books of the series. Lovely area, thank you. Cheers.

    So lovely to see you on our screens every week.
    It will be a sad day when you stop
    I do not begrudge you retirement of course
    The vacuous behaviour of the wealthy without regard to history or traditional values is abhorrent but simply because they are vacuous they are blind to the obvious.
    I share your values and perspective on the need to preserve the Englishness of our land as without it we are lost and empty.
    I know your all having a great time down there it goes without saying.
    Keep safe warm dry and virus free all.

      Its wonderful down here David but yes the way money talks here is ridiculous. Locals are trying to preserve their land etc and the 'money' are digging away the land and building modern monstrosities that simply ruin the period looks

    Cornwall IS a beautiful area and I thought it WAS a different country of the UK and not a county of England. I have to readjust my way of thinking, entirely! Emmet, huh? That’s too bad. It is one of several places that I would have loved to stay a year or two or even longer if the locals were okay with it and I could afford it. I understand as some tourists can be an irritation. Maybe all. Huh. Thank you for a LOVELY video! Being so far south, in July, I would have thought the water would be warmer. But I don’t know that I have EVER heard a reference to the Channel waters as warm, so I don’t have any logical reason to have expected warm. Mostly because I have seen pictures of beaches further north with people in the water and on the sand like beaches can be around the world. Chugs has become a learning channel! Why not? Now I will be an even more dedicated follower, if that is possible.

    • @GaryCaptainPhillips
      @GaryCaptainPhillips  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The English Channel (stretch of water between Southern England & Northern France) is known for being very cold as the channel 'swimmers' coat their bodies in grease to keep their bodies warm.
      Great Britain (UK) is made up of four countries, England, Wales, Scotland & N.Ireland.. I've visited America on numerous occasions and the Americans always refer to the UK as England lol

    Stunning locations. Must be strange to be away from the congested canals in July/August and experiencing somewhat similar, yet equally inspiring. Those quaint country lane walks have replaced the tranquility of the early morning towpath.
