বাংলাদেশের একমাত্র খনিজ সম্পদ || বিজয়পুর চীনামাটির পাহাড় || Durgapur Netrekona || Ghuri Firi

দুর্গাপুর উপজেলা পরিষদ থেকে ৭ কিলোমিটার উত্তর-পশ্চিমে কুল্লাগড়া ইউনিয়নের আড়াপাড়া ও মাইজপাড়া মৌজায় বিজয়পুরের সাদা মাটি অবস্থিত। বাংলাদেশের মধ্যে প্রকৃতির সম্পদ হিসেবে সাদা মাটির অন্যতম বৃহৎ খনিজ অঞ্চল এটি। ছোট বড় টিলা-পাহাড় ও সমতল ভূমি জুড়ে প্রায় ১৫.৫ কিলোমিটার দীর্ঘ ও ৬০০ মিটার প্রস্থ এই খনিজ অঞ্চল। খনিজ সম্পদ উন্নয়ন ব্যুরোর তথ্য অনুযায়ী ১৯৫৭ সালে এই অঞ্চলে সাদামাটির পরিমাণ ধরা হয় ২৪ লক্ষ ৭০ হাজার মেট্রিক টন, যা বাংলাদেশের ৩ শত বৎসরের চাহিদা পুরণ করতে পারে। ১৯৬০ সালে সর্বপ্রথম কোহিনুর এলুমিনিয়াম ওয়ার্কস নামে একটি প্রতিষ্ঠান এই সাদামাটি উত্তোলনের কাজ শুরু করে। পরে ১৯৭৩ সালে বিসিআইসি সাদামাটি উত্তোলনে যোগ দেয়। বর্তমানে ৯টি কোম্পানী এই সাদামাটি উত্তোলনের কাজ করছে। প্রায় ৩০০ জন শ্রমিক এই মাটি উত্তোলনের সাথে জড়িত। বিভিন্ন রংয়ের মাটি, পানি ও প্রকৃতির নয়নাভিরাম সৌন্দর্য মনকে বিমোহিত করে। সাদা, গোলাপী, হলুদ, বেগুনি, খয়েরী, নিলাভ বিভিন্ন রংয়ের মাটির পাহাড় চোখকে জুড়িয়ে দেয়। সাদামাটি এলাকা জুড়ে আদিবাসীদের বসতি।
Lilabhumi Netrakona is one of the mineral resources of Bangladesh. An artificial lake of green and blue clear water flows through the chest of the porcelain quarry here. The lakes take on a wonderful form in the shadows of trees and mountains and white clouds. Someswari river famous for its clear water and sand dunes is also located here.The only different species of fish in the country is found in this river - Mahashol. Apart from these there are several places to visit. The diverse culture of the ethnic groups here, the beauty of Someswari and the extraordinary beauty of the Garo Hills captivate the thirst-quenchers.
