Wait, but if i were to use the formula, "BA(90)= 0.702MT + 1.57BR " to calculate the bend allowance at the 90 degree section, I would get 0.2706. BA(90) = 0.702*(0.05) + 1.57*(0.15) = 0.0351 + 0.2355 = 0.2706. which is different than using the other formula, and get 0.228. Am I missing something here?
No - you are the first person to catch my screw-up. I left a digit out of the simplified non-90 formula, which should come in BA(deg) = (0.0078MT+0.01743BR)(deg). I did this on the deriving video, and the error is carried forward on the 4 example videos. I intend to redo all five videos next spring, when I teach the class again. These ones will be removed from you-tube at that time. That's what I get for being somewhat dyslexic. Kudo's on looking close enough to spot the error.
No - you are the first to spot my dyslexic error when copying the formula. I left out a 7. The formula SHOULD read BA(deg)=(0.0078MT+0.01743BR)xdeg. This error affects all 5 of the non-90 videos I made. I will have to re-shoot. In the meantime, I will flag the error to make sure no one is harmed!

How is the 1" flange on the 135deg bend measured? Is it 1" from end of the flange to apex of the bend? Or is it 1" from end of the flange to the mold point (from your non-90 bend video)?

if you make a diagram the correct angle you use is half of 45 degrees?
