It no longer looks like this in the latest PowerPoint. Select the picture, then click on "Picture Format" (a reddish tab) that should appear above the other ribbon tools along the top. When you click "crop to shape," choose the shape you want, then you have to hit Crop again. That will give you the cropping tool, but it doesn't happen until you hit crop. You can size the shape before final cropping.

With all due respect but the steps given in the video worked fine for me.
When I click on the shape that I want to use, it automatically crops.
Maybe it's a difference in the version of PowerPoint. I have version 16.66.1 (22101101) which is the latest one.
