    ASAP Rock for dynamic rope
    9.6? It's written that it's
    designed for 10-13mm
    diameter rope.
    Is a problem if
    rope is 9.6?
    What about the
    rope type (dynamic instead of
    static)?

    • @connernealon6015

I don’t know if it’s spec’s for dynamic rope, but I imagine it’s only designed for static line riggers, fire fighters, rope access, etc

On a single rope system, no. But on a 2 rope system, you would use the ASAP on the second rope as your backup.

Producenci mają fatalnych projektantów i zupełny brak zrozumienia zasad prac wysokościowych skoro projektują takie dziadostwo. Lina z człowiekiem to nie manekin w sali doświadczalnej. Tu jest tyle miejsc amortyzacji ze uzycie dodatkowego amortyzatora wydłużajacego lot to większe ryzyko kontuzji, wypadku.

    • @piciu256
      @piciu256 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Both are expensive pieces of junk. A marketing ploy and actually quite dangerous. The single worst idea and manufacture of Rope Access equipment in history. There is a list of reasons many experienced Rope Access Supervisors do not let them on their job sites. The biggest reason is that they are smart. If you want to waste money and potentially have someone get very seriously injured at work... get the ASAP.

@@damoneblackman1702 Too many stories to share. Look, on some level, gear is gear and if a company is paying for it, We can use anything they hand us. That said, in terms of quality equipment, there is a lot out there that is just plain better gear on many levels. If you want expensive, mid range and disposable gear, go Petzl.
The industry has been duped into believing there is one company and one alone. That time is up. Happy rigging, think outside the big box. Cheers.

    • @StaggerLee68

@@windowwarriorsforum9112 With the ASAP, you need to generate a fall distance to activate the pawls in the mechanism. There have been issues with techs falling in structure with the ASAP on free mode. By the time you generate the 2.5m/s needed to activate the pawls, you've hit something already. Loong drops? You've got some time before it would engage 100m down a rope. Rope to rope tansfers? it will most likely not engage in the pendulum, not enough speed. Yes, we've tested it extensively. Most of all, from an instructor's point of view, nothing has taught techs how to disregard their backup device or simply neglect it like the ASAP has. It was designed and implemented to make a shit ton of money, by Petzl. I was somewhat involved with this crime by teaching classes with it as a partnership with Petzl. My bad. It's always been a junk device and it always will be. Most of my crews refuse to use it. I commend them for it.
