I recently took an Uber with a gay friend of mine who, for whatever reason, misread his gaydar and made a pass at the driver. I was mortified but the driver took it in stride and politely indicated that he was a happily married father of three. For my money, that was the straightest most forgiving driver that I have encountered.

I've played about 15 rounds with my G425Max, For me it instills confidence that translates into allowing me to swing harder, while making solid contact. I'm starting to play ProV1's again now that I can consistently get off the Tee and find fairways

I have to say, I don’t buy drivers each year, I usually wait about five years but after your review I had to try the G425 Max and I have to say you are correct, this is the straightest driver I have ever hit, in over six rounds of golf I have missed only six fairways with it. This is good and bad, a miss hit you won’t recognize easily. I really enjoyed my Cobra Speedzone driver but I have completely moved to the G425. I would of never tried it if I had not watched your review! Ping might owe you a commission from my purchase!

I've got the G410 and love it. Most definitely the straightest driver I've used, bad shots that use to be terrible are now just bad :-)

Rick after watching you test the Ping drivers I was SOLD. I went and hit the 425MAX and then ordered it with the Rogue X-flex shaft. This was back in February, after finally getting it and getting a chance to really play with it I have to agree. LOVE IT!! My Buddies and I have an early spring golf trip and the course we play has multiple challenging driving holes, challenging for me anyway. One par 5 has about 280 to carry the stream, carried it 3 days, another par 5 with trees on the left, road on the right with a creek that runs diagonally across the hole. Again about 280 to cover the creak and I absolutely stripped it 4 days in a row and was putting for eagle 2 of those days. Thanks for the outstanding reviews and non-bias opinion.
I just bought one of these, I average around 220 and on my first time round the course with this today I smashed it and hit a couple of 280's which I have never done before and one of those were dead straight which is another first for me, love it! I never thought I would ever buy a ping but I'm glad I saw your review thanks Rick

After watching your vids, I just spent 3hrs of research online and decided to walk to the course 2 mins from my front door. The only driver they had left was the SFT (which is perfect for me) Took her to the range and it maybe 20 balls. After years of slicing further than the ball travels forward...my slice is gone!!!! So they're bringing in the stiff shaft for me and I should have it within the week. Can't wait!! Was clearing 290-310 for the first time ever. Thanks so much for all the vids , keep em' comin'!!!!

I bought this today after a lot of research on TH-cam, and I always check with Ricks reviews before I buy anything. The price on this driver is $299, and let me tell you, this driver is AWESOME!! The sound wasn't an issue as some reviews have said, and this driver is REALLY forgiving, and I set the back weight on the draw bias and it really helped. I would HIGHLY recommend this driver to anyone!!
There's someone over at Cobra watching this video now in tears as they reforecast sales figures for the loss of their driver in Rick's bag!
I doubt Rick will put the Ping in the bag. His numbers are just as good with the F9 and he doesn't need a ton of forgiveness on a driver. He said a few times last year that he wasn't going to change anything in his bag just to change. If there isn't a noticeable difference in his driver performance, he'll keep the F9 in the bag.

@@paulk3198 That's strange because he said last year that he wouldn't change anything unless there was a noticeable difference. And no review that I saw indicated any perceivable difference between them. Either way - it doesn't seem likely that he'll move off of the Cobra driver for the Ping.
@@chrisgilligan4968 yeah that's right but he ended up changing to the xtreme because it was more forgiving than the f9 he had, it was quite a while after the speedzone release

I was lucky enough to visit there facility in Arizona a few years ago. If anyone was ever lucky enough to get to see what they do and how that do it you would never play any other clubs. We were treated like royalty by genuine honest people. Awesome review as always Rick.

Got fitted for this driver and bought it. Played a round with it today for the first time. Normally I am hit and miss with my old m6 driver, but I am astounded that I didn't miss a fairway with the ping g425 max! £419 but bloody hell it gives you confidence to smash it!! Well happy
I would like to see your dispersion circles from each of those drivers. I would think that would be a huge difference!

I got the G425 Max back in October, and I love it beyond bits - I literally call it my fairway finder. Such a great club.
I play the G400 max and it is the best driver I've ever played. How about the 400 vs the 425 max? Great video as always. Keep it up brother!!!
"The LST is for better golfers with faster swing speeds" This made me chuckle as that does not describe my golf game at all yet I have never hit my driver as well as I have with the LST. Either way I would suggest the 425 to anyone.
Can we see a numbers comparison between 425 max and 400 max?
Most forgiving is a bold statement. I feel like the Cobra SZ Xtreme has insane forgiveness.

Can't go wrong with Ping driver's. I have an old G5 I can't seem to let myself get rid of. The loft is a little high at 10.5, that's why I don't game it anymore, but if I want to give up distance and just hit fairways, I'll put it in the bag. The MAX seems like the best option for me at least. Love the review!!!
Might be your best club review ever, really enjoyed the format of this one! I’ve been very interested in Ping Drivers the last few years and this only peaks that for me! Can’t wait to see the other brands reviewed.

You should compare it to the G400 MAX. That seems a bit more of an apples to apples.
Rick did I hear you say the Max will replace replace Extreme, no I did not. But Extreme must always know it could be replaced so as to keep itself in line, drivers must be told and instructed what will happen to them should they become wayward. Good video, love the honest reviews on new tech.
Wow, I have the G LST which I love, an extra 3 yards wouldn’t make me swap, but the Max straightness might, as I play round a tight course. Great video
Ok, every golf company promises longer straighter, well two weeks ago, I got fitted for the 425 max. I got it a week later and holy crap, this is the best driver I've ever had in my bag. Its incredibly straight and longer than the Ping 410 I just replaced it with. I did notice a few off the toe shots, but I made a minor adjustment at set-up and fixed it. I got the nine degree, set up at a flat lie, in the draw setting with the factory Ping stiff shaft. Even after the set-up, I tweaked it up one degree to a 10. This thing rocks. I've owned the Callaway Edge, X-hot, Titleist, and Cobra drivers, this is by far the best driver, for 500 bucks, it better be. Granted I got $225 trade-in credit for my 410. Now I'm thinking about getting fit for the 425 3-wood.

Forgiveness is what I need - too expensive though - typical for Golf
TXG live testing this morning is worth a watch for much more detailed un-edited information. You say the Straightest driver... are you also saying difficult to work the LST ??

Tested this yesterday... Can attest it is freaky straight. Super loud, but really straight
I bought a used Ping G driver and it changed my game. I literally went from slicing the ball over 50% of the time down to about 20% doing nothing more than changing my driver. Amazing drivers.

I still had my old Taylormade R9 TP in the bag.. Told everyone that you don't need new clubs. Today I got the 425 Max. Best choice ever, it is SO much better!!! I know my course very well as I've been playing there for 15 years, and I can definitely tell that I gained 25-30m in distance. I could not believe it!! 11 years in technology makes a difference I guess..

I finally got my hands on this driver to demo it, very forgiving. (I shoot 95-100 and driver 220-240 yds) I usually hit a slice, this honestly helped keep them straight and I was hitting them 10-15 yds further. Without a doubt go hit this and try it out. I am saving now to purchase this myself. I hope anyone reading this (my fellow golf enthusiast) has the same experience! Good luck ☘

I feel your pain! I thought it was absolutely BS when Golf Channel was advertising “The New G410 Plus” on their Kapalua coverage YESTERDAY!!! YESTERDAY!! They actually said that verbatim one day before the new line came out.
Just got in my g410 plus driver last week and started thinking the same then told myself, dont fret, the difference is most likely negligible. Its the shooter not the arrow :-) i also save about $150 buying the 410 brand new lol.

I bought a Ping 4 hybrid and 2nd hand 4 wood and both excellent. Much straighter than my other clubs.

The Ping Max’s are incredible. I demoed one last year and felt like I was hitting my putter it was going so straight, and with good distance, flight, spin etc.
Great video, went to my local golf shop and got fitted for the first time, bottom line. They put in the Ping G425 SFT due to my horrible slice. We tried the New TSR, a Cobra and a Taylor Made Stealth. But the Ping was straingtest.

Yep, a video that's over a year old and I have just purchased the 425. I am a very slow swing high handicap player and threw my driver away as my swing was too slow to get the ball off any sort of trajectory. A pro came up and suggested the g425 but there is one out that is set to a standard set up of 12 degrees loft that was set to half a degree higher for me. I cant thank that man enough as now I am hitting it 190 yards. Not a lot to you pros out there but the ball goes straight as a die and the loft is so incredible I do not have to hit it hard anyway. With the loft and reasonable spin rate, it keeps the ball up in the air for much longer. So impressed that I purchased the G425 hybrid a week later set to one degree higher. You can guess what irons I am going to try out very soon lol

@@kortvinyard4413 when you were as desperate as I was, looks was the last thing I even considered. And unlike other modern drivers, it didn't wake the whole village up when it struck the ball. Its more of a muffled sound which is great for everyone's ears.

I finally bought one of these Driver’s and it is amazing. I’ve had the epic flash, cobra f9, Mavrik, and epic speed in the last few years and I was not getting great results. I thought what could I lose and bought the g425. I only missed 2 fairways today with the g425. It’s been a long time since I had a club make that big of a difference. I had almost gave up on hitting driver and stick with my 3 wood. Thanks Rick for the great reviews that you do. The video with the g425 and stealth was what made me go for it. If you are about to give up on your driver, try this one it’s amazing

The implied caveat is that you have to have a relatively decent and repeatable swing. If you don't, then no driver is going to save you except for the swingless club. The comparison against the G driver from 5 years ago tells you everything you need to know. The clubs are still hitting it about the same length as they were 5, or even 10 years ago. So if you have a decent driver, but hit it like crap - then you should spend your money on lessons instead of a new driver.

Bought the Max a couple weeks ago. Best driver I ever had. Very Draw bias. Have it on Fade and it usually goes straight or slight draw. I can't get this thing to fade or slice. Best money ever spent

I started playing last summer, and only played a few months. I’m now in the market for a new driver, and even with all the big releases this year - the G425 Max is currently working the best for me. 10.5°, regular shaft, neutral settings have me hitting a nice draw about 235 carry.
Same. I found that I had to tee it up about 1/4 more than my Taylormade M4 and then the results and consistency really kicked in.
Great review for the new Ping driver and was surprised at the comparison to the 2016 G driver which I have in my bag. Also you have saved me £450 as I can’t justify getting the new Ping driver in order to add 5 yards to me drives. Keep up your reviews as they are very honest and you tell it as it is.
Got a chance to try this driver at a range the other day. Absolutely loved it. Would have bought it on the spot if finances were co-operating. I usually play a shorter driver to help me be a bit more consistent, but this is one of those clubs where you wouldn't want to mess with anything because it's so good.

Started on a full bag fitting today, I had a bad slice issue, granted I needed to tweak my swing but after all the drivers I ended up doing the best with this one. The straight tech series. I went from my old driver carrying 190 and rarely hitting it straight to hitting 80 percent of fairways and carrying 245 max 265. Even got a 280 in there once. Highly recommended!

So the question is, is it $700 straighter than your G? (coming from someone who plays a stock G400) I feel your pain. But, if it doesn't go in Rick's bag, that will answer our question I think. The difference between all these Ping clubs are miniscule from what I can tell. Yet this new G425 Max is the straightest ever? How does it not go in the bag for Rick? Let's wait and see :)
@@timhouston1638 It likely doesn't go in Rick's bag, mostly because Rick doesn't need forgiveness. He said several times last year that he wouldn't change anything if there wasn't a noticeable difference. I don't think the G425 hits it longer than his F9 - if he thinks he'll find a couple more fairways a round I think he'd consider gaming it.
Ping G425 appears to be a new mile stone for PING drivers. Like the Arccos features. Well done!!!
Finally played 18 holes with my G425max today. Found the fairway 100% today at every long par4 and par5. Super happy with it. Forgiveness was unimaginably good. I could feel a bad shot right at the impact and still see my ball ended up on the fairway. Btw, I switched from a callaway epic flash sub zero which I also loved very much but I just needed a little more forgiveness.

Pro tip: get some clear yellow film and throw it over your LED lighting. It’ll warm up the lighting and make it less harsh. 🤝

Ping drivers are the best , they are like the Mizuno irons of drivers ! It is a privately owned company also so I like to support them instead of big holding companies

I think the MAX is the product I should get over the SFT - as a 10 handicapper, I am looking to improve. So the SFT is like saying if you dont plan to fix your slice, get this.... !? Therefore Max should be the one that I go for to grow into?!?
Rick, great review. Pls compare this driver with the newest of the other brands especially Cobra. Would love to see the distance difference and dispersion.
