Hana, location of the largest sacred heiau, Pi'ilani, in all of Polynesia.
The Hawaiian culture and language, though still on life support, has been saved from the brink of extinction. In fact it is surviving and even thriving in some respects, with grace and fervent enthusiasm we've come to expect of a stoic peoples.

I lives 3 month in Hana in 1982-83.
