Bosanska Artiljerija Become the true Artillery Master. The Ottomans's age ability is called "The Guns of Urban" after a Transylvanian engineer. Conquer Southern Translyvania and drive the Ottomans from the Balkans. If someone can give a better/more specific province as Orban's birthpalce, mention it. I just eyeballed a wikipedia map.
26:35 "Who cares about Corsica, amirite?" I think an-average-guy-for-the-time, Napoleon, would like to have a word with you. And yeah, this would have been an interesting timeline, ngl. Imagine being the Doge of your own huge Bologna, and you literally leave everything you have just for the fact that you want to explore and discover new lands and have an adventure in the Wild West - now, that's a movie I would love to see, make it sure that it's named "Spaghetti Western". Loved the video btw, you are getting better every video! :p
No joke, with tall florence + innovative first ideas & exploration second idea group, it's possible to become a great power before 1500 without even expanding your Italian territory
@@SmashingCapital It's a bit tricky and luck-based to pull off, but basically you have to be maxing out your monarch points at all times. So, you want to switch gov type as soon as possible to reduce term duration to the minimum duration that still has estates. You take the 3 +1 monarch points edicts and supremacy over the crown. You also want to be declaring every humiliation war that you can win to get show strength peace deals. Timing of tech upgrades is important because advancing techs can bump you out of the class of your rivals, so when that happens, you wait for nations like pisa and siena to catch up to be re-rivalled. Pretty much all of your spare points go into developing your provinces, so you'll quickly end up having like 150 dev between your starting 3-4 provinces(if you take lucca). Then once you have exploration, if you're lucky you can immediately claim an African province to hop to South America from, if not it may take a decade to get enough colonial range. But once you get a foothold in the Americas, you place your colonies next to larger tribal nations and use your plus five tech advantage to declare like 5 wars at once and conquer the entire continent of north america in like 20 years.
Yes! Great video. I somehow managed to get this achievement by following TH-cam guides but it was not much fun honestly. I guess if you love painful challenges it’s OK…as always though you make it look easy. Thanks!
Yea, The Spaghetti Western Achievement was painful (with zero DLCs) but worth the effort. The hardest part was Castile declaring war on me for Tenerife after I colonized it. That REALLY ticked them off! So, I just colonized something further along the Atlantic (like Bermuda/Some Caribbean Island) and then peaced out Castile by giving up Tenerife and some ducats. The best part was when I drizzled some frozen blueberries and strawberries on my frozen pancakes and nuked them in the microwave for 99 seconds while I fried up some scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausages. BEST ... DINNER ... EVER!!!
As Bosnia, prevent the mess of the Yugoslavian civil wars in the 1990s by conquering all of the territory of the former country Yugoslavia and making it the same religion and same culture. I think with the bad starting position of Bosnia, this might already be enough of a challenge. I got this achievement in a totally different, longer but less painful way (but also, less fun, tbh). I just became a big great power in northern Italy, then I took on Spain which had colonized the Texas area, and made them give it to me in the peace deal. Then released and played as them.
I played this achievement as bologna, formed texas, then vassalized bologna to get back into Europe.I formed Italy then the roman empire. I had the roman empire with texan ideas. It was one of my favorite games
Hey Red Hawk, I got an idea for a Burgundy challenge: Get the Atwixt achievement by having eight personal unions at the same time (you DEFINITELY want to open with Influence and Diplo ideas). Bonus objective is forming Lotharingia.
France starts with French Strong Duchies, so I'm not surprised nations starting with privileges... At 12:00, you might want to divert trade from your vassal, then grant them provinces. So you get some money at the same time. It increases their liberty desire, but you give them provinces so it decreases it afterward.
i remember when i did that , i took 40 years to break the hugbox and expand... pretty tough , man. and i succeeded , but i was annexed but Portugal and England soon after. still got the achivement though
Attacking a native nation gives you option to claim all their territory not just the province they are in. Much cheaper way to expand colonies than going over colonist cap. Love the run tough. Don't forget Belozeroo 😉
If you had stayed in the HRE you wouldve had Austria to defend you. Not only that there is no drawbacks to staying in the empire when you are allied so it wouldve been much better.
I love the thumbnail with Clint Eastwood because he was in a lot of "Spaghetti Westerns". Western films filmed in Italy. Don't know if the double meaning was intended but if it was, that was an incredibly well thought out decision.
Played a lot of Italy, never thought to do an early colonial game. It seems like you could do a powerful game with it because you can grab West Africa because you get the Renaissance before Spain or Portugal and just eat enough land to make a weak Spain to then just steal Iberia. It seems like a better way of handling Spain then the normal mid game big fights with Spain into late game repeated wars late game to finish off Spain. You could be weaker against the Ottomans, and you need to be allied to France, England, or Austria (preferably several of them, although Austria has been weak in the past patch). Best case scenario you end up with the power of Spain while being Italy, making so you can push global without much of anyone being able to stop you. Worst case you get stomped by Castile early (this is a minor set back because you will be able to outpace them later) and then get killed by the Ottomans because you are now weaker then a normal Italy in the 1500's.
Couldn’t you just move the capital the falklands (/Bermuda), which counts as a new world province (though not colonial) than you can move it to Texas without giving all your Italian lands away?
I believe it's Falklands, South Georgia, or Galapagos if you want a new capital in North America, or Bermuda if you want a new capital in South America. If your only goal is the achievement though, what Hawk does is easier.
@@Kenvannen nah it can be wherever as long as it gets the condition being the only province stated on that continent, but you are kind of right, the money you have to pay for state maintanace often outweighs the income bc its too far away from the capital once you move it.
4:00 I actually disagree with you there. For Italian Signoria I find sortition works a lot better. The12 year terms is just SO detrimental to re-elections and getting their stats to an acceptable level, and decreasing it to 11 just doesn’t really help. With sortition you get a ruler with random stats and minimum 50 years old, so even if RNG screws you it will only be for a few years. Also worth saying. With the Signoria reform the candidate from “political dynasties” doesn’t suffer decreased stats like in other republics, so it can be worth it for the extra option. Especially with sortition as he’s both younger (age 30-50) and almost half the price to manually pick.
To move capital to new world your old capital should not have borders with other provinces. Sometimes releasing vassal and giving it only 1-2 provinces is enough
You could have moved your capital to the Falklands,Bermuda,or Greenland without losing all your land in Europe Because well there outside of any "colonial regions" yet still new world provinces. So direct ownership of both American and European provinces.
Don't even need to do that anymore, as long as your capital is the only stated province on your home continent you can move to a different one. So, move capital to a state where you only have 1 province, and destate everything else, then move to new world.
I am try to figure out where are you actually from? I know the profile says USA, but it's so rare to hear a native English speaker pronuncing Brescia correctly
Yeah, Castile was salty about Tenerife, buddy. :) I've never even tried this one. What does one DO as Texas? I guess like you said, one-tag! (which I can't do! lol)
wait. so when you formed texas your old nation *still existed*? That's really bizarre to me. I would have assumed your old provinces would have been given to an neighbor or something idk
you don't need to get rid of any of the old world, just either make Bermuda your capital or colonize one province in Africa, move capital to that province in Africa and then to NW
Oh no... that's two games in a row that didn't even reach the red bankruptcy warning... Well next time for Bosnia, if you can't become bankrupt, then try to make Serbia become bankrupt without taking their gold mine. (Plus points if you can both be bankrupt at the same time)

First hehe
get beloozero as a vassal
How about you form Yugoslavia, and then culture convert everyone inside to keep it stable?
artiljerija...
Some "culture conversion"
Republicanism just doesn't hit me emotionally like "Strengthen Noble Privileges" does
I know… I know…
getting a 6/6/6 every game slaps pretty hard tho
Ah yes..the classic game..forming an american major from italian minors..
A classic
Texans will forever shout the phrase "Remember the Albenga!"
Austria betraying you twice is the most comical thing I've ever seen in my life
Bosanska Artiljerija

People who think this run is cursed haven't tried spawning literally all insitutions as florence, now that's cursed. (Also a really fun run ngl)

The first province that you conquered was Modena
The bucket has been revenged!
Bologna was the first nation I played with since it's my city ahahah
Every Balkan nation should be just “Conquer and culture/religious convert the Balkans” ☠️
I once formed Texas as Ragusa. The sight of the Doge of Texas and his Italian Cossacks subduing the natives was as terrifying as it was ridiculous.
Love this series my guy
Enjoy!

Haha nice run man. It's a pretty easy run (even with Castilian RNG being against you), and it's the rarest achievement I've done :)

Have you watched saving private ryan if so what's your thoughts on it
I have! It’s one of my favorite movies acutally!
Hypothetically, if youre an opm, would it be viable to piss off your estates in the first few months to get some early army tradition?
"Texs" became prophetic. A very scuffed attempt but you did it.

i have eu4 open and ivan's dream was playing when you got attacked by castile and lost all your stuff. it was perfect
rip tho
This was a funny video, good job!!!
To move capital to new world your old capital should not have borders with other provinces. Sometimes releasing vassal and giving it only 1-2 provinces is enough
I think all you had to do was give Ferrara was the county of Ravenna. That would isolate your capital and allow you to move it to any other state.
The way you say “Ferrara” make me laugh a lot😂
As Bosnia, take out Austria-Hungary and have a Europe-wide coalition
*Pain from Spain.*
As bosnia convert to sunni and conquer Balkans.
Or as Bosnia form Toulouse (if u can) referencing to the Cathar refugees
In fact you could even play with flavor universalis and convert to cathar, it would be the first time using mods in A to Z
Im brand new to paradox games and this content is fucking great. Not so easy to find quality channels nowadays.
I can't ever get my ally to break any alliance. It's never an option.

you don't need to get rid of any of the old world, just either make Bermuda your capital or colonize one province in Africa, move capital to that province in Africa and then to NW
Reverse colonize Spain as Cebu before Magellan arrives on March 1521
