The cowboy actor at the beginning and the ghoul at the end of the show is same person. In the games there is established lore about ghouls where the radiation caused genetic mutations creating ghouls which also greatly slows down aging. They do age and are not immortal, but ghouls can live for centuries
It's worth noting that most vaults are totally isolated from each other. Vaults 31, 32, and 33 are unique in that they were built adjacent to each other, with connecting tunnels.
A few things to keep in mind in this series. 1 - The style is retrofuturism, it's based on an alternate timeline that diverged from ours around WWII. The bombs actually fell in 2077. You will notice robots and futuristic skyscrapers in the first scene. Also people are driving fusion based cars. The transistor and microprocessor were not invented as early in this timeline, they are in fact very new in this world. 2 - It's not based on any story in any of the games and is based after the events of the games, so the whole series story is new to every viewer. 3 - The people act weird because they are from a different world than we are.
the divergence happens in 1969 when the USA was divided into 13 commonwealths and the microprocessor was not invented until much later, that's the reason time seems to have stood still until Oct 2077...
Live action-wise, I would totally agree. Animation-wise, though, a show based on a game I would have to say it would be Arcane: League of Legends. Anime genre to live action I would give it to One Piece.
The bombs that drop at the start of the show happened at 9:42am on October 23rd 2077....Everything looks like it's from the 1950's because in the Fallout world microprocessors were never invented so a lot of the "tech" is either huge or looks straight out of the 1950's because of that.....The outro credits change every episode and have little teasers about upcoming shows, they are not spoilers but there are some breadcrumbs so I would recommend watching it, even if you don't put that part in your reaction video.... Wherever life finds you I hope it finds you and those that you love safe and well....AHIMSA!!!!🕉️
Microprocessors were invented in the Fallout universe. It was just a little later than in the real world and they didn't catch on or develop as quickly either. But they were there.
Thought i would beat this comment out but no, this is NOT correct. Microprocessors absolutely exist in the fallout world. One of the missions in the games is literally you hunting one down. They were invented but the tech just lost out to the tube vacuum like betamax lost out to vhs and hd-dvds lost to blurays. They were invented but never went mainstream.
A very small plot hole that I've noticed is that that means the bombs would've dropped at 7:42 AM in California, so it really doesn't make sense why they were having a birthday party so early. It must have started at like 6 am.
Fallout is a phenomenal series and i'm sure you'll enjoy it! Many fans including myself were skeptical at it's announcement, but they really did a brilliant job on the show. It's not based on any specific game, but instead the world itself. So many if not all of the characters are original to the series! 13:49 A Stimpak! That is the main healing item in many fallout games :)
@@marleysmovies You'll catch on pretty quickly! They've created the show in a way that has allowed it to be very accessible to newcomers such as yourself.

I like your surprised reaction to Lucy being stabbed; "I thought she was the Main Character!", because I think we have not gotten someone like Lucy in a long time. We've had so many female characters over the years who always seem to slip by without having to deal with many issue. They are always right, they are smart, they are strong, they have very few flaws to even speak of. But Ella Purnell didn't want Lucy to be like that, so she asked the writers not to pull punches and really give Lucy a trial by fire. She even played through a portion of Fallout 4 to help her be more familiar with the source material. I'm sure why this isn't the standard any longer, but I'm thankful for people like Ella who really care about the roles they portray.
"I dont want to set the world on fire, I just want to start a flame in your heart, In my heart I have but one desire, And that one is you, no other will do." The music in this series reels you in.
Great reaction. As you go forward keep in mind this is a GAME and the series uses game logic. So there is instant healing and stat boosting drugs (that is what the guy takes before the door cuts him in half). How would the sun affect Lucys eyes, well though not perfect they do grow crops inside the vault, so clearly they have ultraviolet light sources. Best to view Maximus through the lens of a true believer in the Brotherhoods stated mission of saving the wasteland. The Ghoul is not a zombie he is a mutant human.
I was so scared when they announced this show. I very much expected it to suck. Im still waiting for them to screw it up but the first season is a gem.
Those nukes were a type of neutron bomb. The explosions themselves were destructive sure, but they're designed to expel mass amounts of radiation over a long period of time.
@@TattleDelta neutron bombs put out less radiation. Well to be specific they mainly put out gamma radiation which is the most deadly but decays very very fast.(Like think days). The nukes in fallout are closer to some type of dirty bomb than any type of nuke that's actually been created.

As a Fallout fan, I was very skeptical about this tv show. Us gamers have been burned in the past with game adaptions being total garbage. After watching the first episode my fears were put aside and loved it. I watch the next three episodes and the last four the next day. They're very addictive to watch. The series even does a good job on explaining the lore of this world to newbies who have no idea on what this setting/people/events are about. Since people have already explained a lot of things you may have questions on, I won't repeat. Next is episode 2 🙂
This series takes place 9yrs after fallout 4 the current year is 2296 show started in 2077. no characters from any of the games (besides the fallout mascot) it's an original story set in the fallout universe.
Marley, I am so glad to see you are finally getting into fallout! Yay! I think you were really going to enjoy this series even though some parts of it will be extremely depressing and graphic.🎉 I have been a fan of the Fallout series since its inception, I played the original to Fallout games on PC from 1997. I have been following the series ever since and looking forward to Fallout 5 if it is ever released in the next century. These games and TV show remind me so much of the Mad Max trilogy, which will probably make you Auntie! LOL 😂😅

Hello Marley's, How was your Christmas day and weekend? 🎄🎁💫 The Fallout series is great and I really liked it 🥰❤️✨ What does bother me is that I don't understand why Hollywood now wants to sexualize everything towards women with explicit sexual scenes, nudity and sex, They are also uncomfortable and unnecessary because they sexualize women today in a terrible way 😞 What do you think Marley's?
Hi. My Christmas was very busy basically from 20th until 26th I had either places to go with family, visiting family or cooking for family at my own home 😂 so I had a great time but very tired. Thank you so much for asking, how was yours? I’m enjoying it so far. I think that the first episode was surprising with the sexual scenes and dialogue but I was happy that the writing of it changed the expectations of what the viewer might expect of a woman. It was done a little comedically too and not too serious. I can see how it could be contentious for some viewers though.
Actually 200 years is way too long. Remember both cities bombed in WW2 are rebuilt and inhabited. It would take around 20 years or so for radiation levels to be safe.
Il add it to my list thank you! I have Fallout, and 2 other series that I’m editing right now but as they all have just 1 completed season each il be looking for another show soon.
Luckily, you aren't a fan of the game. It's much better if you only have a crop dusting understanding. The retcon that happens at the end pissed some of the hardcore off. I wish I could have gotten past it, but the ending "member berries " didn't bode well for us video game fans. I've watched enough IP ruining series to know when we are being pandered to.
The only reason it bugged me is they declared the show cannon to the games. If they had kept the game and show universe separate I would have been fine with the recons. I mean you almost always have to make some changes when you make adaptations. Then again I think 76 is pretty good as long as you consider it alternate universe fallout. Honestly it's probably the best "fallout" game actually made by Bethesda.
