I love how at the beginning of the video embrace the fact your car has the stock stereo by putting the cassette in the cassette deck. It's a nice touch. I hope you don't plan on replacing it because it looks great in that clean interior.

Awesome vid! I was smiling the whole time 8) Corrados are my dream cars. I had a 16v scirocco for years and love older vws. but in my opinion Corrados are a perfect medium. Currently im driving a 02 vr with a 272 cam stage 2 unitronics tune with custom exhaust. Vrs sound so nice once you let them breath. Thanks for a dope vid mate.

I miss my 1990 G60. Memories from my late teens and early twenties with fine women packed in. Few years later a vw dealership had one 95 vr6 left in this same color with tan leather on the lot for sale. Every weekend for a month I would go see it until it finally disappeared. Didn't have the money at the time....

i see you got the same color as mine! LK4Z (bramble metallic). mine looks as good as yours, but i live in the netherlands so we don't have the slc here. i got full options and also a 2.9 with 190bhp. loved it since i bought it and 13 years later still loving it! there is no engine in the world that bursts out the great sound this engine makes

Great find! I have to say I'm jealous. I wanted a Corrado back in the 90's, but bought a 97 GTI VR6. Only car I really regret trading.

Oh yes. It's running a Garrett GT35 and a bunch of other stuff. However i've had major issues with it tho.(previous owner had made a mess out of it) Hopefully i'll get it running at the end of this year, so it's ready for the upcoming season.
So to be fair i'm alittle jealous of how good looking yours is compared to mine :p

I meant to respond to your reply when I saw this in your last video. You mentioned you were looking at getting Recaros. You should look into getting some from Corrado Recaros from Canada. They are 12 way power heated Recaro seats that came factory in a Corrado. You should stick with that and maintain originality. The stock speedline wheels are timeless, but there are all sorts of wheels that work well. I've been pulled over more than 20 times between all three of my Corrados, so I wish you the best of luck :-P .. One thing you definitely need to do is the 1.8T IAT sensor mod. It is an open element IAT which better resists heat soak, and you should pick up at least 3 - 5HP. (You do have to drill and tap a hole in your intake manifold) I would start hunting for a B4 passat moonroof assembly, because that Sunroof won't last long lol. In my opinion, Corrados are one of the best cars in the world as the driving experience they offer is very raw, yet orgasmic. It puts a smile on my face even on the worst of days. If your car ever sits for an extended period of time make it a point to go out weekly and exercise the window regulators, and on hotter days the sunroof.

Sounds almost identical to my MK4 R32 with with cams and 3" Magnaflow exhaust. Except my exhaust is quite a bit louder, haha. Beautiful car. The Corrado styling is classic and timeless. That's what i want for my next project!

I love how the spoiler goes up slowly like a supercar. My 3.2 TT's spoiler goes up too quickly.
Thats cool, I never really noticed that supercar spoilers go slow like that. The Corrado is a pure 90's VW supercar!!

Vr6 is great for romping without getting in too much trouble and VWs are pretty low key too. I got a dsg r32 and its great, although you are kinda making me want 264/264 cams
Thanks!! I used to have a MK5 R32 in Grey. That was the car that got me back into the car scene. I'm not sure cam's are worth the money, just enjoying the sound is enough for me haha!

I bought the car on May 19, 1995 from Autohaus Lancaster in Lancaster, PA. It had never been titled and was sold as "used" with 5,600 miles on the odometer. Correction...I had it for 19 years, not 20 years.

It was my daily driver from May 1995 until October 2000 when I bought a Jetta GLS 1.8T to be my daily driver and limit the miles I put on the Corrado.
I love mine its red 6000 miles everything works except the sunroof does not slide, will vent but slide broke again as theybalways do doing a glass conversion soon as I find a b3 complete. the sound the power and the burble always makes me smile
Is that a typo...6,000 miles?!?!? Even if it has 60,000 miles that is still fantastic. I LOVE red, especially on a Corrado; I still need a red car :) The VR6 sound is hard to beat, especially for the price!
Nope sat in customers yard for 11 or 12 years actually had 40,000 original miles but newly complete rebuilt , engine suspension wheels brake tires tranny clutch, whole car redone except paint looks good but Hood was repainted once by previous owner rock chips and clear is peeling original paint was brought back , to life but compared with yours I need a respray or touch up spray which I would rather have. Only issue is sun roof again and I'm gonna convert to b4 passat once I find a complete working unit
Would love to get that exhaust you have but to Much money going in road bikes right now keep us up on the conversions I really would love if some one made after market head lights that did not look to modified ecodes are expensive if you can find them and even then not much more light output

The corrado is what drew me to your videos. Last year I got a 1993 corrado vr6 sight unseen and had it shipped across Canada. Mine is dragon green with 84000km. And the price was dear, but worth it. I'm 38 and back in the day that was 'the' car. We are lucky to find such low mileage examples.
In another one of your videos you spoke about getting rims from your buddy at 1552. I tried to get a pair of 1552 snowflakes in 16" but I was told they don't carry that size. So I got a set of 16" rpf1 in the SBC finish. I like them but I wish they were 17. Do you want to buy them? I only have 1000km on them. They only weigh 13.7 lbs each!
Anyway you should check out Schmidt modern line wheels, they look sick on corrado. I wish I got them.
I like how you post the parts you have on the car. I can't find a 2.9 throttle body and manifold. Do you know where to get those parts?

Does this car have noticeable pull/speed? Looking into getting one, absolutley adore the sound, but I would like a bit of speed to it, I'm not after insane speed, but I want to be able to overtake with ease on the highway etc. Great video man!

Throw an intake on there and to match that exhaust, should sound great with the cams.

Very nice James!!!! Love that green color a lot! Corrado's are super rare over here, yes. You do see a couple at VW shows, but they are usually beat up pretty bad. Clean examples are super rare. My Corrado is even more rare than my TT-RS, which I love because it costs a third of the price haha!! And its just as fun, if not more fun to drive on the street. On the track though....give me the TT-RS!

Got me a 93 vr6. bought it new off the lot all them years ago. still love it. fully stock but would love to lose the damn auto belts. Euro belt conversion? had not heard of that. any idea who could do that for me in NYC?
Hello there!!! Congrats on your Corrado, sounds great, what color is it? The seat belt conversion consists of the belts, different center console, A and B pillar plastics. All parts lifted from the european cars, checkout ebay.de and see if you can find someone willing to ship to US. I haven't installed mine yet, but want to keep them with the car. thanks for the comment, cheers!!!!

Awesome video and beautiful Corrado. I've been dreaming of redoing mine with the "plum" color exterior and redo the tan interior but this is just ridiculously amazing with the black interior.
Do you have it registered in California now? I recently moved back to San Diego with a texas Corrado SLC and was going to do the 268 cams in mine but CA smog laws made me second guess that. Is yours passing clean?

Keep up with all the proper maintenance and it should be a very enjoyable experience. I had mine for 12 years and never really had any real problems with it, loved every moment and only sold it because I moved out of the country and couldn't bring it with me.

Thanks Lisa, yeah I am amazed that everything works perfectly. It is in such good condition, but isn't perfect so I don't mind driving it a lot! I didn't know that about the mirrors, that's too cool! My old TT-RS had the same mirrors as a Bugatti Veron, so this seems fitting for me.
Look up the mclaren f1, they have the same mirrors as well.

Thats true. The main problem were the young owners, they crashed the cars or tuned them really wild with ugly spoilers or bumpers.
Good looking and nearly original cars like yours are rare and expensive, it´s the same with MK2 Golf GTI, 16V and G60. For a Golf G60 in good condition you have to pay at least 10.000€.

i have a 93 which was mint also. Got this Feb in San Jose. A fn truck clipped me and now $5000 later I am putting her back together... have you priced new euro headlights?? fword. Had to get mine from the uk for a buttload.
Oh yeah and a bumper cover I had to get from Germany. Hardly no parts in the US for VR6's.

How do the 268 cams feel over your old stock vr? Also, I bet the V3 handle great don't they?
The KW V3's are ridiculous, they feel sooooo good! The Schrick 268 cams are just OK TBH. The power is moved way up into the rev range, so you really need to rev it out to get the power out of 'em. I think I would prefer the 260's but I've never tried those. Definitely enjoy the torque you have with your stock cams bro. The idle does sound great though!

I've been looking at St coilovers because they're the same thing as kw, and I have a friend who can get a discount on them. Are the v3 super stiff or bouncy?
They are pretty stiff, yeah man. Not uncomfortable or jarring, but it is my stiffest setup yet. ST's are good, basically a KW v1, can't go wrong with those.
+Wheelie Cool Videos been debating with the adjustable dampening or not, don't know if I need it for a street car, and with almost double the price it's even harder to justify it.
You're right, you don't need adjustable dampening. My KW v3's are on their default setup, and will probably stay that way. If anything I might make it a couple clicks softer.

Excellent question! You're right there isn't much room in there. I am 6'3" and I can't sit up as straight as I'd like too. At 6'5", I don't think you will fit. I'd recommend getting a MK3 GTI and modding it. Will be less money, parts are easier to find, a lot more room, and you get the same exact VR6 power and sound.
With the sunroof you will lose quite a bit of headroom, it's takes up like 2 inches of headroom.
I have two Corrado's with sunroof and fit quite good, but I'm only 6'2".
You can also get some different seats to even lower the seat position, or change/modify the foam and upholstery.
Fixed back bucket seat with no rails will get you in the lowest possible position

It's a beautiful example of a stock VR6, I'd definitely pick up the stock Corrado wheel.
