    Everyone was calling out Patrick Ta for putting out an overpriced foundation but all of sudden everyone got YSL money 😂 antiblackness is crazy.
    Also it’s funny how we’re told to support the brands that cater to us and leave the white brands alone but remember how pale and light skinned folks had so much to say about Juvia’s Place blushes having too much pigment? How ironic

    Those comments really puts in perspective how they (non-black/people with lighter skin-tones) think speaking up on the inclusivity and antiblackness is hating. Which is crazy to me because racism/anti-blackness is violence and people keep trivializing it and its disturbing me. Keep speaking up and I believe darker skinned girlies need to keep speaking up!

      Look! I am 45 years old, halfway (or more) through my life, and we STILL can’t get decent foundation shades and folks telling us to be happy with what we’ve got? I was having this issue in 1992, when my Fenty 420 behind was the darkest shade of MANY brands. And more than 30 years later they still can’t act right? It’s INFURIATING

    People also need to know that the reason tir tir and other Korean brands expanded their shade range is because of a black influencer her name is Darcy.

    Great video. The way some people care for businesses who only care for their money is wild. These anti-capitalist content creators may have something.
    I feel like the, "Just buy black-owned brands" is giving "Go back to Africa!" Like yeah I am grateful to buy from black owned brands but I have a complexion like every other human and have the right to have options. And like you said, BOBs may not be so accessible to everyone for a lot of reasons like price, shipping logistics, no brick and mortar space, so yeah we should have options.

    The stans truly believe they will get something from their 'allegiance' - they just want a come up and to be a part of the crowd that is getting stuff. It's this corny willful cognitive dissonance that is both sad and hilarious. I hope that Golloria can heal and come back if the chooses. That we still have to call out brands for playing in our deep chocolate faces tells us that her and other voices are still needed. These brands don't give two sh*ts about anything much other than the dollars you are willing to part with. How dare we speak up for ourselves regardless of the platform/modality/forum. This is why folks are big mad at us now - cause dare to use the voice we have to advocate for parity. Uncle Ruckus comes in all shapes, sizes, genders and races.

    I love honest reviews. I bought something from an Afro Latina owned brand and after vibing with the brand owner online, and taking note of her no returns policy, I was fine. But I share candles online and give honest feedback for the burn experience when I do. I was disappointed by her nasty attitude toward me when she did not like me saying the burn barely caught on no matter what I tried. I stopped following her due to her behavior

    It's major bullshit because the tides of commenters who harass creators who seem inauthentic. Like yes call it out because honesty should be above trying to stay on a PR list. But people can't STAND when Black creators advocate for themselves and give their honest opinion. The tone policing, the insults, the comments that say "it shouldn't be for everyone", "be grateful". It's bullshit. I also hate the people who are like "I'm pale and I have it just as bad to find makeup" I'm a Sephora employee, it's my job to find shade matches. I can find lighter shade matches easier, I even have shades memorized. Telling people to shut up and be complacent makes my job harder. It's bullying people out of the makeup space. It's weirdo behavior to defend brands that pretend to be inclusive.

    When the beauty community really took root on TH-cam we were watching everyone that was supposed to be all that. Their makeup was beautiful and I wanted to know how they do it. I feel like I'm slow because I didn't know about something called "Face Tune". So I'm watching videos on TH-cam and going to the drug store to buy Black Radiance or Milani. They had shades that I can use, a face palette with bronzers and blushes that I can use.
    And I've gotten compliments while wearing those products. It just became clear that apparently some brands weren't interested in making money from certain groups. Fenty changed the game. It became apparent that we will spend our money on a good product that does what it says it does. What we found out back in the day was that some influencers were flat out lying about a product because they were getting paid 10k or more for one post.
    Anyway I'm going on and on. Thank You Shanygne you always make me think

    I have definitely seen & heard what is going on. I like you will say what it is I want to say about brands, Sephora & Ulta missteps because I'm well aware that they can & should do better. I also don't mess with brands that don't cater to me (dark chocolate skinned diva). I am in the DINKS demograhic that they want to buy from them. I have lots of disposable income, so brands can't afford to piss off people who can buy luxury products cause they won't stay in business. I've seen when I've complained that they fix their issues. It's slow, but it does change.

    Be completely honest sis. It’s darker skinned and brown skinned Black and Brown women who have difficulties with these beauty companies. This has been problematic since l was a teenager 0 years ago. Don’t lump lightskin women of color with white women, because until the beautiful Bajan Queen Rihanna came out with her makeup line, we were having major cosmetics problems too. Melanated skin tones can be shades of light, medium, and dark. ❤❤❤

    • @Shanygne
      @Shanygne  3 วันที่ผ่านมา +8

      This is not a conversation about products it’s about how black woman content creators are treated by VIEWERS on the internet and it is not same across the board even just amongst black women. Saying we’re all melanated minimizes the issue at hand. Same way I’d be minimizing a black plus size woman’s point if I tried to say well we’re both black.

    As an artist I've also seen people try to bully artists into making them draw people and be representative of every color & body type when they really don't have to. The person makes the art, and people can like it or not like it, everything doesn't need to include everyone. I don't need to draw everyone, I don't need to draw obese or underweight people if I choose not to😂 and it's not like people are buying everyone's art
