The 80's, the best decade!
no doubt
"Clan of Xymox" and "Medusa" with Pieter Nooten, what wondeful songs
"Medusa" is "Mesmerized" on the track listing of this release. Too bad this album is not released on Spotify. Neither are "Phoenix" "Headclouds" and "Metamorphosis."
@@mikewild7321it was released on bandcamp
Listening to Anka sing "Seventh Time" is always transcendental, taking me to a high place..
Such a haunting voice.
This really showcases the awesome talent of Xymox
after the call is soooo beautiful. best version.
Always a classic for the many xymox fans 87 and beyond
Best record in 1985. My 15's, so moody, gloomy and melodic, a real piece of art, perfectly fit for 4AD, along Cocteau, DCD and WP, but so classy and danceable.
WOW ❣️👋🔥 I'm an 80s kid but never had the pleasure of hearing you guys here in USA.... phenomenal 💕
If you google their website, you'll be able to see past tour dates along with present and future dates. The only thing that prevented them from touring was COVID, but they rescheduled and performed all those shows eventually. Only Ronny Moorings remains from the original COX lineup from the 80s. They have wrapped up 2023 with a final date this month (December) in Europe. You'll find the majority of their releases on Spotify, although "The John Peel Sessions" isn't among them.
I remeber feeling ecstatic when a friend sent me this cd two lifetimes ago...
I can almost grab that feeling...
Que temazos de los Xymox! 🖤
y que grande Sir John Peel!! 👍
Stranger just fckn kills me. So deep, so dark, so dense. This vibe really touches my soul.
I saw COX in 1991 in
New Orleans on the Twist of Shadows tour. Awesome show
I saw them again in Las Vegas NV 2018
This has been reissued on vinyl by Dark Entries. Sounds fantastic.
I love this group
Я кайфую под эту музыку, обожаю их

es una máquina del tiempo bellas canciones sin infinito simplemente bellas
This is a GREAT listen. I am also a huge fan of Post Punk but never heard this in the 80s when I was a youngin!!! It was so tough to find music like this but I know I would have loved it then as I love it now. Hoping to see them as they are going to be in concert in the not so far off future, count me IN!!!! I loved No Words when my daughter discovered it and shared with me. She knows what kind of music I love. Post Punk and 70s R&B/Disco/Electronica (think Georgio Moroder) fave music forever :)
among the great Peel Sessions 🎵🎵

This pandemic is opening alot of doors for very underground Synth Goth its a amazing time to be alive in the 21st century ideas are endless in this cyberpunk computer age
Hey man. Glad to hear it. But it won't mean jack squat if even ONE SOLITARY individual is LEAD down the LINE between the devil's fake teeth.
Clan of xymox is no exception. Yes? I agree with your statement thank you kindly for listening as I am too after all these years.
This album is from like 1981- 8?. These are the original peel sessions maybe second ones where John peel invented the genre name dark-dance, and that term was used to describe a certain genre within the scene - examples are the "danse society" or "switchblade symphony" for other dark dance bands to give you an idea of the genre.
@@JSTNtheWZRD some of my favorite stuff no matter what the genre is. I love it very much.
@@jamesschulziii9098 no, no, no, I simply said that the music you commented on was made in the early 80s. It was made 30 years ago, not recently, that's all.
Usually I don't like clan of xymox but john peel knows how to do his magic
Awesome
LOVE this
This is great stuff.

This album is such a treasure. It's not part of the COX catalog on Spotify. So thank you for sharing this with the rest of us!
Good
I saw them in 1988 with Abecedarians at the Roxy in LA. Brilliance from both bands. Not much these days..
That must have been an awesome show, as I like the Abcedarians as well, wish I had gone...
Loved the Abecedarians . Only saw them once
saw them play not that long ago couple of years ago in The UK

When I look into your eyes
Porfavor la lista de canciones
Pretty cool, sometimes reminds me of Joy Division (if you doubled their speed, maybe tripled it), and if the lead singer sang like his life depended on it... Seventh time ~ Radio Live Transmission?
I didnt even know this band was even that old i thought they started in the 2000's
You really need to listen to 'Medusa'. It's their best work.
tell please, what drum machines/synths xymox used that years?
R.I.P. John!!! Does anyone know year of production?
1985, reeditado el 2001, por eso suena así.
Got to be a half decent band to get on the peel sessions %.
Fact.
Ronny on bass?
No, Ronny Moorings was the guitar and lead singer, Anke Volbert was the bassist, and she sang 7th Time on the first LP, and Masquerade on the second LP, Medusa. It was a dutch duo. PIeter Nooten joined them for the studio sessions when they signed with 4AD. Real talent eclosion, that didn't age so well later along an endless list of gigs and weaker and weaker albums. But this was their apex, maybe the best 4AD album on this segment, IMHO. Pieter Nooten quited for a more wider career with fruitful collaborations.
xymox 🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴
