I don't know man...Im very impressed that keyboard worked at the end, don't get me wrong, but I just cant shake the feeling that everything I saw up until that point was the brutal and heinous torture of an innocent laptop. Might even qualify as attempted murder. I don't even know how I stumbled across this video.
I know, I could of done it better. But the laptop had other issues as well. I just didn't aspect it to be glued together instead of normal laptops being screwed together. So I pulled a Leeerooy move and went for it lol. Thanks for watching.
I am surprised the computer worked for how it was butchered apart. I have done this job several times and all it takes is a soldering iron to melt the fixings for the metal plate and keyboard, no need to tear them apart like that. Also surprised the keyboard worked as these motherboards have a notorious sloppy ribbon connector that once undone fail to make contact when reinserted.
Thanks for the suggestion of a soldering iron, wish that thought came to me before hand. At the time I didn't think ahead before doing since it only cost 20 bucks the thought didn't cross my mind... Afterwards later in that year I did go out and buy a heat gun and soldering iron for anything similar that came up.
Mine is heat staked in and has adhesive aluminum tape all over the place. Mine might be going to the target range for practice.
Doesn't sound like a bad idea either lol. Heat gun should help, and the older comment has more ideas.

Сan I use the keyboard from Inspiron 3147 to 3000?
Honestly I don't know. I'm sure it will along as the part number matches.
I noticed the keyboard backlight not working...I have to replace my wife's keyboard and at least it is replaceable.
Just make sure to use a heat gun to loosing the glue / plastic. Should make it easier. Or just use a usb wireless keyboard instead as an option.
Does not have a backlight for the keyboard.
