    Love it!! This is a nice evolution of the old one, love the fact it has a real pickup as well as the piezos. Pitch shift mode sounds great. This could well be the next essential purchase...
    I recently picked up a early 2000's top of the range 700 model in perfect condition for about £300! Made in Fujigen Japan, top quality nice to play guitar. Banjo and Sitar modes are a joke but the LP, Strat, Tele and Firebird sounds are awesome, especially played through a Line 6 interface/modeller.

      What'd you buy for 300? The firehawk?

    I have the sr250 running through helix into a Firehawk 1500. I have over 60 guitar's and only play the other ones a couple of times. It has brought me to a whole other level of playing.

      I’m looking at it for this exact application (besides the fact that I think it’s badass). Assuming you own one? How do you like it? Do you have issues with palm muting and alternate tuning artifacts like others on the internet have said they experience?

    I have the SR 270 HD Shuriken and I love it. Make sure you download workbench and munky for it and you can dial in the volume and attack on each string independent of each other to give you the kick you need. The longer scale 270 model tracks the notes much better due to the larger and longer strings you can use. It works much better and sounds way way better with some fat ones it lol. And if you have a helix or Firehawk with the FB3/6 pedal board you can assign Any tuning or guitar type you want instantly with a tap of the foot switch. You barely touched the surface so far man. You can change guitar body's and swap out any pick up even Chang the location of the pickups on the body. It's crazy 😜

      Wouldn't the more spaced wavelength take longer to read? I know for midi pups, the lower you're tuned, the more latency

    You have the best guitar collection on YT imho. Only the white sg and maybe the piezo les could be something else. But sg in red w tailpiece, the firebird in tobacco, the evh??? Add kh esp, and orange or blue translucent telecaster and that is the wall from my dreams. Amazing collection man. I’m going to search for a vid of your collection. I’d not come across you before this video.

    what exactly is the technology ? is it pitch shifting each strings piezo? This would be interesting to mix with a GI-20.

    • @JustPlayItLoud
      @JustPlayItLoud 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not sure it it’s piezo, but it’s a hexaphonic pickup in the bridge that sends each string signal separately to the onboard digital processing that handles the modeling and pitch shifting. Not sure about how all the connections work but I’d think it would work with a guitar synth type device if you could get it connected

    • @MashaT22
      @MashaT22 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JustPlayItLoud none of the Variax guitars are MIDI compliant, so it won’t connect with a synth like you said. It is using modeling technology that saves the “voices” to presets on the guitar that are transferred via their software and a USB connection.

    • @JustPlayItLoud
      @JustPlayItLoud 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MashaT22 that’s a bummer and seems like an unfortunate choice for Line 6 to make. Oh well.

    • @meraki89
      @meraki89 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      that's exactly what it's doing, unfortunately, the VDI output only works with the Helix for now, would be great if it could be used on other devices

      I figured I would dump the presets and make it more like my other Variax… Nothing doing…I’m having a blast with Stevic’s starting points.

    I wonder where this guitar is manufactured. The body, paint, knobs, switch, etc. (minus a headstock) bear a striking resemblance to the Jamstik Studio Polyphonic MIDI guitar. The Studio is an ALP Leaf 100 body with Zivix’s electronics inside. I wonder if the Shuriken is made at the same factory as the ALP Leaf 100. Anyone know?
    I LOVE the Jamstik Studio - it’s an amazing quality guitar and totally surpasses any MIDI guitar on the market because it literally can handle bends, trills, multiple notes, and anything else you throw at it (unlike every other MIDi guitar). It also functions as an analog guitar too, which is a huge bonus - like getting two guitars in one. Downside is the tuning is done with a hex key at the bridge because there’s no headstock and it comes in 25.5” only (I prefer 24.75”), but those are minor things. Whoever here is looking for a MIDI guitar NEEDS to check out JamStik Studio.

      Non-USA Line 6 guitars are made in South Korea, in the factory that makes the PRS SE.

    Is the Shuriken plug and play? Or do you need to know ‘stuff’?

    • @2neaky6eaky
      @2neaky6eaky 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Plug and play for sure but with heaps of room to go do in depth crazy stuff too if you really want. All you need is to charge the battery to use the different tuning and model options and then you can just get straight into it. I’ve been loving it so far.

    • @ronniehughes9660
      @ronniehughes9660 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The tone sucks because he is using the built in voices. It takes some tinkering with the software but you can get ANY tone you want out of this thing. From bone shattering to glass shattering to silky shimmer. And I Do mean bone shattering muahahah. And he needs some fat attack strings. They bring the tone alive. Thin slinky strings are NOT recommended for this guitar. They literally suck the tone out of the guitar.
