Hey John this is guys, Just wanted to say thanks so much for all of your content. This pandemic has been super tough for me and your vids really help calm me down before I go to bed, and I learn so much! For about the past 2 years I've been going through your 15 minute game playlist and I only have about 70 vids left. Love them! Cheers!
24:32 that GM you beat is 52 year old Ketevan Arakhamia-Grant, born in Georgia but living in Scotland. She had a peak FIDE rating of over 2500 OTB, but she seemed to be slower to move than you. Good game!
Okay I don't understand why the opponent did not take the rook with Nb3? The only thing defending opponent's b4 was the pawn on c3 which was protected by Rc1??
I was about to castle-gate you in the chat for missing the fork, but your wonderful use of that SAT word changed my mind. Joking, but keep up the good work
In game 4, the opponent instead of losing the game could have earned a draw, by a rook sacrifice with Rxa2 on move number 52. instead of the mistake Ra6 ?? which loses.
Hello from a fellow Minnesotan! Thanks for the great videos! This is just in time to give me something to do after the increased lockdowns our governor announced yesterday :P
9:20 that's like 90% of my games. I had one the other day where I missed #3... and #1. Where's the mate? PIGS! I need pigs! (Meanwhile my queen is already there, just waiting for a bishop g8 that never happened)
@@ourtube1128 haha yeah after I was like "ho ha ho! I want that game back!" This stream makes me feel a little better. John's maniacal laugh at the crazy misses and comebacks. I was feelin' those.
John i love your videos a lot but please try eliminating or exchanging your bishops for knights in Tuesday arena games, it would reduce a lot of your troubles, thanks...i look forward to seeing you win an 8/10to beat your previous record of 7.5/10
@@JohnBartholomewChess Do you think editing is needed in the first place? I ask that because I have seen tons of chess channels successful with only raw videos!

IMO, great players (like Shirov) are born with enhanced spatial abilities, they see the strong moves quicker and can see a little deeper into positions. Not something you can learn, you either have it or you don't. John, what are you're thoughts ?
Anyone else notice the rating for denispopov (the CM whose game John pulled up at the end of round one of this tourney)? He's a 1795 CM. That seems exceptionally low to be titled! Perhaps there's hope for me yet!
John I love your channel but you espouse using the clock as a weapon. Then get battered by that weapon almost exclusively by anyone who is higher rated than you.
@@crclaytonnah. He’s trying to show how to use the clock as a weapon. Whilst running into frequent time trouble himself. Play faster John earlier in these fast games go with your gut instinct.

I am in the futere and indeed you missed that fork at 8:41, and even further in the future don't let those h pawns fester
Incredible how you’re so calm while dominating your opponents

That swindle oh my lord. You looked dead lost before and after the sacrifice and still won lmao
I feel so spoiled by how many videos John has been uploading lately..please don’t let it stop
Castigated. Lovely word. We youtubers may have seen the fork, however the rest of the game was played with a level of technique of few can rival.
54:00 Yo that was the wildest shit I've ever seen!! Insane comeback!!!
Loved it!
Thank you .watching you play is always fun

More Titled Tuesdays John.
Just found you, you're pretty entertaining. You have a chill vibe. Subbed
Thanks for checking out my content and subbing!
The climbing the rating ladder series helped me a lot!
Dude that was a crazy, crazy game. Sometimes you just gotta go for it.
really like your titled tuesdays on yt! keep it up:)
The game against Shirov was a treat to watch live.
You must have had ice in your blood in the game against Supernotar. Great comeback!
23:54 That Minnesota accent came out heavy there, John lol.
Keep em coming...so nice that you're uploading so often recently
HERE WE GO AGAIN! It's always a pleasure watching you, John. Thanks for sharing this with us 💙
PS: 130 days
Appreciate the edit skipping the break!
that 5th game was insane!
I audibly said "John!" all disappointed at that missed knight fork
I was just up a bishop and two pawns and drew, so I feel you 1:30:00
There was definitely fire on board against Shirov!
I feel your knightfork pain... I consistently miss pawn forks! 🤦🏻♂️
great vid as always John. Question, in game 1 (8:53), could you not have played Ne5+, winning the f7 rook?
oops nevermind I just saw you realized that later on.
Just had an hour to kill and just watched this on TH-cam speed x 2. Now that was what I call intense
Hey John, at 31:12 could you have played Nxc2? Or does that not work?
P.S.: loving the frequent uploads from my favorite chess TH-camr!
Good move. I think it works thanks to all the pressure down the file.
I always like these videos before I even start watching...
This was a nice stream to watch.
That opening u played against shirov also the same opening included in shirov's immortal game
same board theme i use... i used green for years then switched to this blue 3-4 years ago.. i like it best i think
8:46 That was nicer than a lot of other streamers.
Okay I don't understand why the opponent did not take the rook with Nb3? The only thing defending opponent's b4 was the pawn on c3 which was protected by Rc1??
Move 39. Missed Ng6# forking king and rook vs Sharapov
Hi John! You inspire me to be a better chess player
Go out there and crush it!! :D
@@JohnBartholomewChess Anyway thanks for the motivation, I'm now at an all-time low rating in 3+2 after losing 4 in a row :|)
I see knight E5 move quickly and thinking why john did not play that move....☺️
I use that board theme too John!
I was about to castle-gate you in the chat for missing the fork, but your wonderful use of that SAT word changed my mind. Joking, but keep up the good work
Hearing john say"Chesstosteron" 😂
that supernotar game was amazing!

26:38. Why not take the pawn on C2?
I think I was focused on neutralizing Qxg7. Looks shaky for Black (knights want stable outposts against bishops).
You hired an editor? I can see a lot of editing like the fades in the start!
Thanks for noticing! I've been doing the editing - just some minor stuff like the fades/clipping/board overlay with the OTB videos. It's kinda fun 😊
@@JohnBartholomewChess Which software do you use for the editing and what would you recommend for a small creator like me?
@@JFchess I use Davinci Resolve. It's a great, free program comparable to Adobe Premiere 👍

Is there a reason you can't win a pawn with rxa7 at 1:26:04?
Do you mean 28.Rxa7? That's a cool idea I didn't see in the game, although I guess Black can regain the pawn with 28...Rxa7 29.Rxc1 Rxa3.
TH-cam went down as soon as thus was uploaded. It's back up!!
The game against IM Supernotar broke TH-cam! 😁
John, you stone-cold swindler!
the ending of game 47:00 lol
shirov and kamsky... 2 great top 5 in the world players that got screwed over by a crooked russian chess machine... both could have been world champs
Wow your shirt & chess board similar..
just have fun John
