I love this project. This is exactly what I want to do to my w124. I finished restoring it and I think it's the perfect candidate. With the m102 there's ample space under the bonnet of the w124. I bought a tunable Invent-Jetronic efi system just because. But it's a perfect opportunity to slap a turbo on it. There's infinite space for an intercooler and oil cooler at the front because mine has no AC. Just gotta finish like 3 other restoration projects first 😅
Great project man, just discovered your channel a few days ago and love what you’re doing. I have the same project as you, I don’t have the car yet but I’m working there, trying to figure out everything I wanna do to it as well. It would be really great to see a little more hands on work, so that we can see how everything is engineered and mounted. Other than that everything is great, things are well explained and you keep things interesting, also nice to see that you’ve gotten more comfortable in front of the camera😉 I do have a few questions for you tho, is that the same engine as the one in your car? where do you source all your parts? (EFI, ITB and etc) and finally, are you using a turbo kit or are you composing it yourself? Keep up the great work👍🏽💪🏽
Awesome thanks😁will definetly try to put more hands on work in the vids. Yes it is the same engine, all parts are just sourced from whereever they where cheapest😂efi was a loong project with a lot of custom parts, the itb's where from a toyota 4age so i had to make a custom intake manifold. But in most of my videos links for parts is in the description👍turbo kit will be all custom made by me only part as of right now that i won't be making is the exhaust manifold. A price breakdown would be suuuper long since i've had the car for 4 years now and i've bought new parts and worked on it since the first day😅but if more people ask about it i will do my best to make it happen😁👍
@@ladesgarage9781 haha ok yeah I see. Daym ok i gotta pay more attention😂 yeah the EFI is what scares me the most but with your help and tips I’m sure I’ll be fine. Thank you for replying, really appreciate it, can’t wait to see more videos of the progress ! Good luck
No, but im rebuilding the engine with shorter high strength rods which then lowers compression. Its really not needed since these engines have a 9:1 ratio which is perfect for turbo applications😁😁
Sub’ed. Keep up the good work, liking the technical content. Try making yourself a story board for your videos, put your main points on a white board off camera and it will help you stay on target with what you want to say. Total respect doing this in English when it’s not ur first language. Keep them coming! Cheers from the USA
Heyyy LADE......!! FEDT projekt..!! Har selv to w201... Sønderjylland.. Kunne godt tænke mig at starte med EFI, Railrør, Større brændstofpumper.. !!
Ho paura a a cedere. Grazie mille
Hi, ive gone through all your videos and it's a great build, im attempting to do the same kind of thing to my 2L but I have no experience with standalone ECUs, what did you use in yours? Did you keep your old ecu in there too to run anything or is it all run through the new one, and what ecu did you go with? I'm looking at the microsquirt one but I'm not sure yet. Great videos, thanks
I used a megasquirt 2 ecu for the engine, kept the old ecu and some of the old wiring to make the instrument cluster work. Its pretty straight forward if you do your homework like i did🤷♂️😁if you're on a budget get the ms2 if not get the MS3 or some other ecu in that range
@@ladesgarage9781 Ah yeah thanks for the info! I was looking at the megasquirt microsquirt that someone on an old forum used in their conversion but ms2 might be the best bet. Good luck on your build, hope we get another video soon :)
A 300E came with a m103 and the 190E 2.6 also came with a m103 the only difference is the displacement 3.0 vs 2.6. So it should go right in there no problem🤷♂️if you have a 300E-24v then its a different story, you'll need special engine mounts i think. Hope that answers your question😊
well done

Sounds great😎but i wont be making turbo videos any time soon
Awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watchin'😁
Hello where did you get the turbo manifold/exhaust manifold?
Is it a quality piece?

Oh yeah, could you also make a price break down video? Would be really interesting to see how much you’ve invested in the car

awsome to see, thanks for the video.
i have a w124 230e and just did all the seals and gaskets, im curious about the turbo conversion.
Its gonna take a while because i dont have youtube money to spend like crazy😂😂
Ooooo it’s finally happening
Yup😂😂
Did you have to use a head space to lower the compression ratio?
No, but im rebuilding the engine with shorter high strength rods which then lowers compression. Its really not needed since these engines have a 9:1 ratio which is perfect for turbo applications😁😁

Thanks a lot😁That white board idea sounds great will definetly do that to keep track of things👌

Ho paura a a cedere. Grazie mille

Hi my friend will a W201 go straight into a 190e?
W201 is the chassis for the 190e and 190d😊
