This reminded me of one time very early on in Apex when I inadvertently automatically picked Lifeline while my new teammate kept telling me not to. For the next minute or so, he completely went off on me at full volume even though I said I was sorry so when we dropped I dove straight into the sea then told him to enjoy the game. One of the few times I left a game early but he deserved it.

It's the combination of thinking youre better than your teammates, and wanting to spend as much time alive as possible. Most good players ik leave as soon as they get knocked because they dont want to waste time being downed. They want to get into the next game so they can keep improving. So I don't necessarily fault people for leaving. It's usually the best option. The real problem is how awful the matchmaking is. If the matchmaking were better and your randoms were always around your skill level, people would be less inclined to leave immediately cuz theyre not already certain that theyre the teams designated carry. But unfortunately sbmm punishes anybody with a k/d above 1.2. Your teammates will always be worse than you, and leaving will always be the best option.

You can have three people that are all decent at the game, but two of them might play more defensive or strategic than you. So when you run in and die and see your teammates hanging back, does that make them bad players? No matter what, when I solo Q, I don't personally see my teammates as being good or bad. You also have to factor in that people have bad games for one reason or another. I have had so many people call me trash one game, and then I will drop 10+ kills the next game. I have learned to just mute my teammates when I am not playing with friends lol

While it would make sense for the lobby to try to put a bunch of players with a rating of 5 together, thats not how it works. If you solo queue there is always a designated carry on every team. So maybe one team is 3 stacking and theyre 5+5+5=15. But youre solo queuing so instead the team looks like 10+2+3=15. If your kd is above a 1.2 you are going to be the carry 9/10 times. So it's not even me judging my teammates. Statistically speaking, its almost guaranteed that your teammates are worse than you.
I personally think that using the ping that you're either going to rez or grab the banner would keep SOME players in. It at least shows the team that you recognize that the player is down/dead.
In the heat of battle, your main concern is on other things other than pinging you will revive or get their banner. I think it's best wait after the area is clear to revive because we all too often have heard those unwavering footsteps during a rez that could decide whether you win or lose to a fight.

my sole beef with solo no fill is the added que time; it incentivizes randoms to dgaf and insta leave. i dont mind an extra 10 people in the drop ship if theyre all solos but the system promotes behavior as such. we cannot expect the player base to evolve so we 'should' change the system to allow these dropouts to behave as they prefer without damaging the experience for people who want teammates. would still happen but hopefully less so
My suggestion, if the player leaves before banner timeout, the punishment should be that you queue into the next match without a team until you are legitimately eliminated then you can queue in with a squad again. If you leave in that "solo" game without being eliminated then the punishment resets
It’s a huge problem for me as I just started playing again and none of my old buddies play anymore. So I’m always solo queuing until I find new partners. In the meantime, I’m so sick of dealing with all my teammates quitting the second they get thirsted, even if we’re winning the fight and right next to a respawn

ok, so this is something I've seen from you and jankx often. You keep fighting rather than thinking about banner. Literally you were on the stairs in monument heading toward the vantage and then you turned to go back up top to fight someone. That's why people SOMETIMES leave (maybe 2% of the time, lol), because it doesn't appear that you're going for banner.
In that situation 100% I can understand that’s what my teammate thought. If we’re talking just between Jankz and I though we have gentleman’s agreement between us to finish the fight (or at least try to) before going for banner so at least one of us can get content from it! In our experience if we leave the fight to go res, by the time we’re back the fight is over and lobby died
People forget it's not just a team game. It's skill based and about surviving as well. If your team is in the middle of a fight, you have to think about what's more advantageous. Them bailing on the fight to scoop someone who isn't capable and putting them in a bad position or them finishing the fight and then going for the revive or res. Most of the pubs players don't comprehend the game beyond point and shoot.

I think it's all about patience. It's like they expect you to, like, magically teleport next to their banner THE SECOND they get thirsted, otherwise they be like "i'mma head out". I always wait at least for my time to expire.

I've talked about this awhile back on social media and at respawn themselves. I want them to consider penalizing any player that quits out of any match before the timecard is expired. Its weird that they penalize you for leaving a mixtape match, but doesn't penalize the players that back out of pubs. Those players ruin the fun for everyone else

The reason that I leave my teammates when I go down is cause I’m still a new player I got into the game in November of last year and every time I go down my teammates just cuss me out and taunt me and never pick my banner up. Like every time I go down first (usually I’m the solo with a duo pair) the duo will usually always tell me how much I suck and why I should never touch the game. I enjoy playing but I’m not good enough to solo no fill. I finally got to a point where I can win most 1v1s but as soon as I go down nobody comes to rez or banner pick up. When I run into better players they still would prefer to just play with their duo and leave me in an evac even after they wipe.

I see a lot of folks ping banners if they intend to get it and don't want you to log out and that's what I do also. Then they hear the ping and potentially your teammate's affirmation (pinging and agreeing with a ping can be heard / seen even if voice chat is off). Maybe try that? Also I know it's common for streamers or duo queuers to chat on discord and not on game chat, but that leaves that rando in silence. People are much more likely to stay if there's a verbal dialog and they trust you at all. I know that might not work as a content creator but I think those are factors. You have great positive vibes. People would stay more if they heard "hey man just a sec while we clean up this squad. We need you, bro! Gimme 30 seconds."
A reason I never see mentioned is that a chunk of rage quitters leave to preserve their precious k/d ratio because it somehow doesn't count as a death if you leave while downed. Fixing that would probably stop some quitters.
I do not leave until I am expired, or until the others refuse to craft me for a long period... Because I have seen people pull off miracles and save me, and I've done the same. It's frustrating when I go into a high risk situation to grab a banner and the person DCs right as I get in the shit as well.
i am always in trio and it's always with random players, or they Get knocked and leave or they leave when the game hasn't started yet, I am a lifeline main, at least let me have a change to try and revive you before you leave.

What I also hate is quitting as the last member alive, I always stay even if my banner runs out and so many times my surviving teammate just quits out instead of playing
I generally believe in sticking around but I do make exceptions and leave early sometimes. Sometimes it's due to irl stuff but most of the time it depends on my team and if they are playing like a solo or a team. If your playing like a team I'll usually stick it out no matter what happens.
Ppl leave cuz the teammates take there time to get the banner and keep fighting a new team b4 the pick up the banner. If I'm downed and I see a 2nd teammate go down I'm out. 9/10 times that 3rd won't make it. 🤷🏾♂️. Hopefully, the next squad we all will be better.
I think it's easy to say what you're saying when you're the good enough to remain alive most of the time. When you're the one trying to be a teammate and you get boxed time and time again for your teammate to crap on you, stay and go from fight to fight and if they happen to pass a crafter then maybe but most of the time, you're just spectating them play and eventually die. I know this from countless hours of experience and got tired of it myself. I've also had players get on the mic and say don't leave and I gladly respond no worries and stay but sadly I've found that 90% of Apex players will crap on you and it's a miracle to occasionally get the other 10% that plays as a teammate.
I only leave the match for 3 reasons 1. My banner times out 2. I get frustrated and fed up with my teamates (explaining my randoms would keep me here all day) 3. I get knocked and know its just a lost cause
I have a take on this, and you probably already know what I'm going to say. It's mainly because it's not ranked. Most of the time if its just a regular pub I don't care if someone leaves a match because I know personally its not the way I was playing, it's because they are probably using this as a warmup for ranked. That's perfectly fine, and really I don't care enough to be bothered by it. I don't think its epidemic if its been the culture of the game for awhile now. Ranked has always been and will always be the draw-in for the player-base. Until they add in like a premier pub based matchmaking.

Saw the title, came here to say that as a strict solo q player for 18 straight seasons, this is why I still have no 4k or 20B. And not for never coming close, but when you get a squad the game bases you off the skill your team has as a whole and matches you accordingly. Throughout the changes the fact still remains, once you are solo there is very little you can do against coordinated 3 stacks that are geared to be as set for a win as you are.
7k hours: if I leave its 1 of 3 reasons: 1. I wait to see the next engagement my teammates get into if they both get cracked (lose dmg exchange) I dip. 2. I got my teammates/friends waiting in lobby for me. 3.going for a 20 bomb or 4k on a certain legend or newest legend (rare I'm doing that, but it happens) Keep in mind if the game is frustrating you to the point, you are stressed or raging you definitely should just hop off as opposed to yelling at your randoms or friends... My whole thing is we never know really what's going on, on the other side of the screen for other people. It's best to just let it roll off your shoulder and que up for the next game or play a different game to change things up.
I must confess I been doin this lately, but only when I get teammates that I believe won't clutch it. If a team actually does well I'll stick around I'm not perfect I average 5-8 kills per game with 1500-1600 damage 80% of the teammates I get can't even get a knock or break armor so I just leave after I go down.
Speaking to your team like an actual human being helps making your teammates stay. I feel like a lot of people just rip into you for no reason and thats not what gaming is about. I can admit i do rip into some people from time to time, but its never ill intension. Just wanted to work better as a team.

I absolutely agree. I hate that to my core. Whether in ranked or pubs, I think it's absolutely disgusting that people just leave the game. There was this female Streamer I was watching the other day, and she's so arrogant. She left the game, and the guy was like, " You left, and she was like, ' yeah, whatever.' How can you be a streamer and abandon people that way, and people still follow you? People are good at saving their people or getting the Res off. But there are so many selfish players. Apex should have greater penalties. One hour wait time if you abandon Ranked plus two hundred l p loss. 3 hour, wait time in pubs, since you don't lose L. P.
but what about the people who leave because they can't be respawned (as in banner timed out) how's apex supposed to know that's why you left and should they receive a ban for it?
@@hayley__939simple, if your box is timed out and you don’t have a support legend to craft, you cant leave. If not, you can leave. Very easy to config.

I think it's all about patience. It's like they expect you to, like, magically teleport next to their banner THE SECOND they get thirsted, otherwise they be like "i'mma head out". I always wait at least for my time to expire.
Its a KD thing. Leaving before thirsted = no death on own stats. Means peeps can have an artificially high KD

I've talked about this awhile back on social media and at respawn themselves. I want them to consider penalizing any player that quits out of any match before the timecard is expired. Its weird that they penalize you for leaving a mixtape match, but doesn't penalize the players that back out of pubs. Those players ruin the fun for everyone else

The reason that I leave my teammates when I go down is cause I’m still a new player I got into the game in November of last year and every time I go down my teammates just cuss me out and taunt me and never pick my banner up. Like every time I go down first (usually I’m the solo with a duo pair) the duo will usually always tell me how much I suck and why I should never touch the game. I enjoy playing but I’m not good enough to solo no fill. I finally got to a point where I can win most 1v1s but as soon as I go down nobody comes to rez or banner pick up. When I run into better players they still would prefer to just play with their duo and leave me in an evac even after they wipe.
I'm leaving everytime if I have a teammate too agniva to push anything and me and my homie die trying to fight everyone in our poi while he just casually sits back. Naw...you say we have a problem. You're damn right. Not playing with burgers. And there is an influx of them lately. When you think of how much time goes into one game. I'd like to play many before my internal buzzer tells me otherwise.
Honestly i leave because im feed up with the game. SBMM/Hidden MMR suck. Im always with preds and masters, even though IVE never even been close to those ranks, i dont play ranked im a solo. Everytime i do have a decent game IMMEDIATELY after im put into absolute demons. Its litterally just killing the game for casuals. Thats a HUGE problem with the game. Its not the faith or what not its the absolutely just frustrated players that cant play anymore when they are always getting stomped by master/pred 3 stacks in pubs. Doesnt matter if i solo q or filled always get the same lobbies. I just feel as if the game is going to die extremely quick if they dont address the sbmm/mmr soon. Im not even a 1 kd cause of it. How are the causals suppose to get better at the game when they have a decent game and just get put into demon lobbies right after? Even the other modes are just as bad. Only reason im a solo is cause my friends gave up on the game for the same problems. They all went back to fortnite, the finals or just straight up quit shooters for RPGs. Its sad cause these problems have been in there for seasons and keep getting worse. Yet they want to rework legends and what not, which good for them, but I REALLY with they would look at the extremely glaring problems sucks as the stupid exploits that take them entire seasons to fix. It just makes the game at this point look half assed.

What I love the most is when you play Newcastle or Lifeline and they instaquit even tho you are right next to them.
I see a lot of folks ping banners if they intend to get it and don't want you to log out and that's what I do also. Then they hear the ping and potentially your teammate's affirmation (pinging and agreeing with a ping can be heard / seen even if voice chat is off). Maybe try that?
Also I know it's common for streamers or duo queuers to chat on discord and not on game chat, but that leaves that rando in silence. People are much more likely to stay if there's a verbal dialog and they trust you at all. I know that might not work as a content creator but I think those are factors. You have great positive vibes. People would stay more if they heard "hey man just a sec while we clean up this squad. We need you, bro! Gimme 30 seconds."
People quit control matches after 51%is reached even if they have 2minutes penalty, no wonder they quit immediately when knocked.

I strictly play ranked for this reason, I got so tired of teammates leaving after going down so I made my own fix.
That most likely happens in every match, usually the players with a lot of achievements
A reason I never see mentioned is that a chunk of rage quitters leave to preserve their precious k/d ratio because it somehow doesn't count as a death if you leave while downed. Fixing that would probably stop some quitters.
Two epidemics. 1. Teammates that quit early
2. Getting put in lobbies with teams streamers or people that play games all day long
I usually watch my teammates and give em a chance as long they act like team player and don't loot or fight the other side of the map

I do not leave until I am expired, or until the others refuse to craft me for a long period... Because I have seen people pull off miracles and save me, and I've done the same. It's frustrating when I go into a high risk situation to grab a banner and the person DCs right as I get in the shit as well.
i am always in trio and it's always with random players, or they Get knocked and leave or they leave when the game hasn't started yet, I am a lifeline main, at least let me have a change to try and revive you before you leave.
You laugh about the lifeline not drone dropping but this happens to me EVERY time I play with a lifeline....just yesterday...teammate says you come to me....while he hides and we are fighting lmao

Ngl I am that teammate that leaves as soon as I fully die or when I see my teammates health get low I’ve been trying to stop myself but that option button and ‘X’ just calls to me.
In pubs I leave if they finish me, since the lobbys run out so fast if you miss out fights you have no chance to get badges or PBs

What I also hate is quitting as the last member alive, I always stay even if my banner runs out and so many times my surviving teammate just quits out instead of playing
I generally believe in sticking around but I do make exceptions and leave early sometimes. Sometimes it's due to irl stuff but most of the time it depends on my team and if they are playing like a solo or a team. If your playing like a team I'll usually stick it out no matter what happens.
I find myself playing a lot of ash to ability lock the sword in fights is funny watching them try to get out of her ability

Ppl leave cuz the teammates take there time to get the banner and keep fighting a new team b4 the pick up the banner. If I'm downed and I see a 2nd teammate go down I'm out. 9/10 times that 3rd won't make it. 🤷🏾♂️. Hopefully, the next squad we all will be better.
I think it's easy to say what you're saying when you're the good enough to remain alive most of the time. When you're the one trying to be a teammate and you get boxed time and time again for your teammate to crap on you, stay and go from fight to fight and if they happen to pass a crafter then maybe but most of the time, you're just spectating them play and eventually die. I know this from countless hours of experience and got tired of it myself. I've also had players get on the mic and say don't leave and I gladly respond no worries and stay but sadly I've found that 90% of Apex players will crap on you and it's a miracle to occasionally get the other 10% that plays as a teammate.

I only leave the match for 3 reasons
1. My banner times out
2. I get frustrated and fed up with my teamates (explaining my randoms would keep me here all day)
3. I get knocked and know its just a lost cause

I have a take on this, and you probably already know what I'm going to say. It's mainly because it's not ranked. Most of the time if its just a regular pub I don't care if someone leaves a match because I know personally its not the way I was playing, it's because they are probably using this as a warmup for ranked. That's perfectly fine, and really I don't care enough to be bothered by it. I don't think its epidemic if its been the culture of the game for awhile now. Ranked has always been and will always be the draw-in for the player-base. Until they add in like a premier pub based matchmaking.
That last gameplay was actually insane though. 100% Nessie over rando.

For me the 2 shittiest things about the game and community are the salty disconnects and the brainless hot-dropping. In fact they go hand in hand.
For a lot of people, it's a k/d thing. People can leave while knocked to avoid taking a death in their stats just to flex a .5 k/d anyway

are your settings you last posted the newest settings also if they are do you recommend turning them up or down while warming up also do you still recommend no aim assist while warming up
Saw the title, came here to say that as a strict solo q player for 18 straight seasons, this is why I still have no 4k or 20B. And not for never coming close, but when you get a squad the game bases you off the skill your team has as a whole and matches you accordingly. Throughout the changes the fact still remains, once you are solo there is very little you can do against coordinated 3 stacks that are geared to be as set for a win as you are.
7k hours: if I leave its 1 of 3 reasons:
1. I wait to see the next engagement my teammates get into if they both get cracked (lose dmg exchange) I dip.
2. I got my teammates/friends waiting in lobby for me.
3.going for a 20 bomb or 4k on a certain legend or newest legend (rare I'm doing that, but it happens)
Keep in mind if the game is frustrating you to the point, you are stressed or raging you definitely should just hop off as opposed to yelling at your randoms or friends... My whole thing is we never know really what's going on, on the other side of the screen for other people. It's best to just let it roll off your shoulder and que up for the next game or play a different game to change things up.

I must confess I been doin this lately, but only when I get teammates that I believe won't clutch it. If a team actually does well I'll stick around I'm not perfect I average 5-8 kills per game with 1500-1600 damage 80% of the teammates I get can't even get a knock or break armor so I just leave after I go down.
Speaking to your team like an actual human being helps making your teammates stay. I feel like a lot of people just rip into you for no reason and thats not what gaming is about. I can admit i do rip into some people from time to time, but its never ill intension. Just wanted to work better as a team.
I get what you're saying, but that still doesn't justify them leaving as soon as they get knocked. If you wanna get in out as soon as you lose, then no fill. You wont get respect just by backing out and not giving your team a chance to help you out. I dislike people that do that
It's never justified to be an asshole ever in a team game. But I'm not going to get bent out of shape over things I can't control. So I just try to make the best out of a shitty situation, and if they leave its fine its what's expected.

I used to be like that, but its honestly annoying asf that they do this shit without getting penalized. The only thing I do is just shame them by showing how useless they are as a teammate. I left a teammate last night but it was a situation that me and my duo were both full killed and our teammate ran from the fight so like.... it didn't look like he was getting our banners or finishing the fight. I can't recall if we had a craft banner person in that lobby but I wasn't interested in the teammate ratting it out.
It's not a problem. Just a casual game, personally it's more fun when teammates leave lol. There's already penalty for leaving early in ranked.
