I’m your friend who doesn’t like anything in kpop except GOT7 😂. For me it’s because they don’t care about what everyone else the industry is doing. They don’t follow trends which makes them so unique and nothing ever feels forced. They are extremely versatile as well, especially the rap line. GOT7 have a slight R&B influence too, particularly in their B-sides, which I really enjoy. Also, I feel like Breath and Last Piece are songs that literally only GOT7 can perform because of the range and types of vocals required. Same with You Calling My Name and everyone’s favourite track PAGE (which is a b-side but you’d never guess it from the way ahgases react to it 😂).
It’s happening, you’re slowly getting attacked by JayB. There’s this thing in the fandom where even if he’s not your bias, he’s your bias 😅

@@danshortyshort omg same! Everyone I knew irl who loves GOT7 has him as their bias. I didn’t get it AT ALL. Mark was my 1st bias, Jaebeom was nowhere in my list, I don’t know what happened but he overthrew everyone. Now, I kept thinking how blind was I that I never noticed him 😅
And oh speaking about vocals, what I Iove most about their latest EP is because they wrote, composed and produced all the songs the line distributions are more dynamic and unexpected. Every single one of them really pop off. In the last song “Don’t Leave Me Alone” each member takes turn singing a line in the bridge, it’s CRAZY.

So Breath and Last Piece were basically Got7's last songs under JYP and the 2 songs had no freaking promotion and Youngjae had a back injury during Last Piece and was still doing some choreo and you really only see him at the end of the mv. I'm so happy Got7 got away from that company cuz they seem so much happier.
Got 7 is my comfort group. Their music is so comforting. JB attacked me in beginning and has yet to get his foot off my neck.

I will only say that it is impossible not to love these guys, their music, their dance, their vocals, their visuals, especially their personalities, after BIGBANG, i'm so proud to be Ahgase too. I'm always support them so much.

For Never Ever, you can t get the concept without understanding the all trilogy, you saw Hard carry already, now Never ever, when you will see Fly, i advise you to check the 3 trailers in order and then the explanation video of the trilogy, you will get why he is trapped in a glass cube as well as in Hard Carry. If you friend is into GOT7 i don t get why he did not tell you about the trilogy... and they all have at least a line in every songs.😁💚
I AGREE! I ch3cked the comments first before adding my 2cents... just do the flight log trilogy again, in order, including the teaser. Then watch the explanation video, they claimed its fan made but fandom believes it's from got7, Jinyoung specifically
The lyrics of songs have not connection to the storyline of the mvs

I agree so much with your thoughts on Breath! Youngjae did such a great job in composing and writing it. It's such an interesting song, but it never felt like it was too experimental because they did such a great job with the vocals

Last piece is ahead of her time, in few years you see kpop groups having this type of track which got7 did in 2020. Last piece were rnb+ rock 😁😁
If you noticed, Youngjae was in the beginning choreo, then not in the video again until the end. When they did their own reaction to the video, he was SO excited when he came in at the end. They all made a big deal about how HE was the last piece. Which he was. The others had been trainees for 2- 3 1/2 years and he only trained for 7 months before debut.
Yes, GOT7 is not your typical kpop group. They can offer you so much different type of music individually and as a group. Their discography is so versatile. If you're loving their title tracks, I know you'll love more their Bsides :) Can't wait for your next GOT7 reaction :)

Last piece was precisely the last song they released under JYP. We were complete unaware of what was going to happen with them. It's also said that "the last piece who complete the circle" is the fandom, ahgase.
Youngjae wrote BREATH! Then the other title song on the same album was Last Piece by Jay B
6:28 don’t ask it took SO MANY takes for that, the staff studied how mark did that and they had to get mark to do the jump exactly like it. Both the staff and mark started to get tired from it that (I think) they almost wanted to reshoot his part and delete the first… but he got it at the end 🥰 bc mark is talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, showstopping, spectacular…
Please check "You are", "Fly", "Eclipse ", "Love Loop", "Won't let you go " out if you like their vocals. These songs will give you more satisfying experience!

I thought I could only love SHINee and then my daughter got me into BTS in 2015 and then I found GOT7 ... The moment I realized I was a multi stan. So much good music from GOT7! And visuals ... Shhhhhessssssh! Watching your face brighten up everytime JB appears is the cutest thing ever!
They love doing lots of different concepts and music. Their MV's are as unique as they all are! Dance practices are good too. The dance practice for Breath is so good

If you'd like to hear their slower songs, then Miracle (has a really meaningful MV), Thank You, 1 Degree, I Am Me are all great options. The last three have special videos where you can hear their live vocals.
As Ahgase, we usually don't know what the upcoming concepts are going to be either, because they have such a broad spectrum of genres. But it seems like they always have very specific percussion/editing/beats that are just uniquely Got7 style and it's really hard to describe. Lol

Lullaby was and still is a huge hit. It was produced in 4 different languages Korean/Chinese/Spanish and English which was amazing for all the International Ahgases. LULLABY also had teasers for the solo MV's that went with this era. There are 7 solo songs too. The album was Present:You I believe. I get the two Present ones mixed up sometimes

Love watching you fall for JayB like I managed to do pretty recently😎falling into this group has made me go back to check out the JUS2 album even more-JayB looks SO GOOD in the Focus On Me MV😻
The song Lullaby is the dream of the seven young man and they are got they dreamed come true. I am so happy for them.miss you all seven so can’t wait to see you all together again.

On vocals - I highly recommend their Got Studio (live with band) and Got Stage sessions. As for MV: You Are, Miracle and Not By The Moon.
And if you intend to lose your mind, watch Let Me original version then watch Let Me live switch parts version. You will be blown away.
On Jay B - you should definitely check out his alterego Def. and his album Love. (Check out Sunset With You)
I loved the switch parts version of Let Me. BamBam asked Youngjae to sit by him because he was so nervous to do Youn'gae's part. Youngjae was SO proud of how well BamBam did. They all just killed it.
I recommend you to watch GOT7's Miracle. Its a very good song plus has a hidden meaning. It would be interesting to watch you try to figure it out.

Last Piece is still my favorite song from during their time at ex-company. Jaebeom really saved his best for last
With Got7 you never know what to expect because they are so versatile but the only constant is that it's always good. I've never been disapointed with their music, and their live performances ( they are one of the few kpop groups that always sing live even at awards or with very demanding choreos). I highly recommand you to check their dark version of Lullaby for Mama award, they often try to present different versions of their songs or performances to surprise fans, for exple they presented an amazing rock version of Never ever with Day 6 for Mama award or like I said earlier a dark version of Lullaby, they also have a japanese discography (Love loop is a masterpiece) and recorded some of their songs in english and spanish.
You commented on the match cutting, and that's because the MV director for Breath and Last Piece was Mr Bang Jae Yeob, whose signature is insane match-cuts. You might notice it in many JYPE MVs, especially from that era - he's directed several of SKZ's MVs including Thunderous, God's Menu, Back Door, Scars, and All In.
Breath and Last Piece were on the last album under JYP. I know this is one that they really had a hand in making and maybe I see this as more their style, but you are right there really isn't an expected sound

When Last Piece & Breath came out, that's what sent me into full Ahgase mode. I was familiar with some of their music before that, but those two songs at the same time? Wow. The dance practices for both are pretty killer. The guys gave me just enough time to catch up on their past before they came in with NANANA.
Also Lullaby was a huge winner on music shows too

Hope you get a chance to check out more of JayB (aka Def on some albums) and Yugyeom’s solo stuff🌸Yugyeom is one of my favorite dancers for sure-he even destroyed Ten in an episode of Hit the Stage, which really just blew my mind if I’m honest (lol I would’ve given it to Ten maybe cuz I’m biased?)… I’m actually keeping my fingers crossed for another JUS2 album collab-they’re two my favorite producers in Kpop and they fit so well together with the type of music they want to make… I could def see it happening especially since they both signed with sister labels (AOMG/H1GHER Music)… FOCUS will forever be one of my all-time favorite albums🔥
PS-JayB is also a really talented dancer… love watching any of his b-boy stuff-kinda sad how he was a little heartbroken when he became an idol because his original dream was to become a b-boy and to do that for a living. In an interview series I watched recently that he did (you have to pay for it on the Mindset app, but I highly recommend it just to watch his interviews) he mentioned that his tears weren’t tears of joy when they announced his debut😕 he does love making music though and he takes such good care of his members… it’s so hard not to love this man💗

Hard Carry, Never Ever, and Fly are a trilogy. There’s a theory behind it and it’s heartbreaking.
Never Ever is part of the Flight Trilogy with Albums of Departure and Turbulence and Arrival. All amazing albums with lots of Got7 self written and composed songs

Never ever is very much hard to get because this is part of triology - Fly, Hard Carry and Never Ever. You need to see an explanation video to know what's going in there. Bambam sand pre-chorus in all the three choruses of never ever

Maybe an unpopular opinion i don't really like Jay B's mullet in Breath... I know and he is still beautiful it just isn't my thing on him.
Next you should do a balad/slow song of them, you wont regret, you'll really appreciate the vocals.

Cracked me up when you said the verse is different, the pre chorus is different, the chorus is different but they all work well together 😂 That describes the members & the group so well.
I think GOT7's strength is that they are like you said, not typical, they always have something new & different to offer and despite their loud nature (lol) they are good at subtlety. They'll add stuff that's good on X or Y, but only just so.

Never ever was probably before all the NCT and enhyphen stuff huh 🤣
I remember during BOL, I think Youngjae had an injury so he wasn’t able to participate too much in the choreography for Last Piece MV.
It’s one of the reasons why he only appeared on the latter part of the MV. And they also said that another reason is because Youngjae is GOT7’s “Last Piece”, with him being the last one to join the group.
I think they’ve said he wasn’t the last one to join the group, but the last one to join the company. I believe technically Bambam was the last one in the group.
