- Oh boy, this is it guys. The dreaded final boss battle of FF3 against the Cloud of Darkness. I also threw the joke battle with it in beforehand just to lengthen it a bit, it's a nice track right? Really really looking forward to potentially hearing this during the FFXIV encounter with she/it in the World of Darkness. Enjoy!

Love they took that intro section straight from the Famicom version. It's most effective in that pristine chiptune form :)
Listening to this trying to clear Chaotic while A/C alliance messes up towers 😊
I just want the hairstyle T-T
I am both shocked and horrified at the sheer amount of people who don't understand towers
turns out the platforms were never the problem. it's towers prog? always has been
@@goldenalpaca3881I have never heard this term before
Nor has it ever been explained
I remember this fight. I also had Arc as a Summoner and Refia as a Devout. Luneth and Ingus got a couple turns out but eventually were dunked. Arc just spammed Bahamut and his and Refia's Magic DEF were so high I hardly had to heal them.
Just finished the Crystal Tower in FF XIV.
So that's why my friend was going insane ^^
We get to fight the Cloud Of Darkness as the very last boss of the raid, with a FFXIV version of this theme music
ah yes, the first true banger in ff series
I was going to disagree with this but then yeah ff2 slept and ff1 woke up to late
I dunno, Battle 1 from FF1 is pretty good
The Mt Gulg disrespect is tremendous.
But, Castle Pandemonium 😭
Nah FF2 Emperor theme and Battle 1 are absolutely fire
Vengo aquí a escuchar esta bonita melodía ya que me acabe FF3 el día de hoy 🎉:D
The mix with Famicom version make the Final Battle Theme more awesome.
Fortunately they changed the UI and added an auto battle feature if you play the 3D remake on steam now. Doesn't mean that Cloud of Darkness is fair tho
Auto battle is sth I NEVER used in any Pixel Remaster
@@Vayne_Solidor I mean I haven't played a pixel remaster. From what I've heard that version of FF3 doesn't have as much of an end game 10 level grind like FF3 3D does. Had to use the quick save feature and auto Battles to grind for a few hours so I could actually beat the game I've wanted to actually finish since childhood. I'd probably recommend the pixel remaster nowadays if game balance wise what I heard is true
@@Mimiyan_or_Pikapikafan Cloud of darkness is kind of a let down in pixel remaster cause just like in the nes game Cloud only spams Flare Wave which is pretty rather lame for a final boss
Most of the bosses aren't fair in the 3D version.
The number of times I lost to the volcano boss because he decided he was going to use his fire breath attack twice this turn, nuking my party into oblivion.
@@henryhunter9643 Oh, Salamander can do that quite frequently in the original and the pixel remaster too. Infact most bosses in the 3d version don't feel fair, because most of them were unfair in the original to begin with
I kept hearing that this was "one of the most difficult bossfights in final fantasy" but when i battled it, i did it first time (thank god, i didn't want to do crystal tower all over again). It was one of the easiest final bossfights to me.
Really just depends on how much you leveled/which jobs you picked tbh.
Also having everyone with a Ribbon makes it much easier
Summoner and Devout. Put up defensive buffs for the first turn or two and the devout and Summoner will take almost no damage from her attacks. I cleared her on my first ever attempt breezing through by spamming bahamut and just making the two non-casters either throw (One was ninja) or spam ethers to keep the Summoner topped off. Bahamut spam worked great, and even after the Ninja and my other DPS died the Devout and Summoner never dropped below 80% HP. The strongest attack Cloud did hit them for around 500 damage at the most.
Thank god my mega flare killed it, that was a difficult fight lol.
I've beaten her by spamming jump on her body and ignoring her tunicle snake thing. And heal any lost HP. Dragoon class is op.
Only if you have 2 Gungnirs
I loved this version of Cloud of Darkness, I felt the original so dumb and repetitive spamming her beam.
And this is the best version of the theme after the NES.
But.. they didn't use all of their magic slots... some of them are empty 🤯
Yeah in 3D FF3 there's only 3 white spells, 3 black spells, and 1 summon for each of the 8 levels of spell, and offensive status spells are never worth using when the plot doesn't force you to so you may as well not even buy them
Best version of this theme, the PR version doesn't even come close to this.
They should've used this theme for the pixel remaster. Makes more sense seeing as part of the theme is stylized like an 8 bit NES track...but what the f**k does my pleb ass know? Not enough to work at Square Enix apparently...
true
I just spam Apolo and Lamia, arps with Arc being the bard. I don't understand how people can play RPGs without buffs or debuffs. That's half the fun.
Even without bard, standard buffs from Devout meant that Refia (My devout) and Arc (Summoner) never took more than 500 damage from even her strongest attacks at level 42. Bahamut spam and feeding Arc tons of ethers to keep his MP up cleared the fight on my first go once buffs were set.
Worst Bahamut ever
