I hate when people say cesar millans methods are not the proper way.
No its the right way to handle a dog. So many times I see these methods like positive reinforcement just escalate the issue. But when a dogs had a problem for so long u need to be able to think like a dog and thats why I like his approach. Its dog psychology and behaving in the way a dominant dog would.

@Maynard Runkle When dog fighting was outlawed the resourceful English and Irish bred their fighting bulldogs with terriers to make them smaller while keeping the gameness and it actually increased it I would imagine. Owning a terrier and growing up with one I can tell you that no dog has more game drive than a terrier. Anyways, the smaller dogs were easier to conceal and transport than their much larger cousins so not as to draw attention from Scotland Yard. Our modern day Pitbull and Staffordshire Bull Terrier were born as a 35-40 lb. fighting machine. Some were used as ratters but most in the dog fighting pit.

You are right any dog can be dangerous it just takes an owner who does not do their research about the breed they want. Some breeds need more socialization and training but they can be great dogs. I grew up with a German Shepherd and she was the sweetest. But you have some owners who have Chihuahuas and let them get away with growling and biting because they see it as cute. All dogs need training no matter the breed. I have bathed and taken care of Pits and they are sweet dogs with a lot of energy but sweet.

Unfortunately, what makes them so great (their intelligence, their energy and their athletic builds) also makes them potentially VERY dangerous. This breed has to be taught proper behavior very early. Irresponsible, or just plain ignorant owners have completely ruined the reputation of a beautiful breed of dog, and made them feared by the general public.

Obviously you know nothing about breeding for characteristics.
PItbulls are bred for FIGHTING and so they have a sensitive trigger mechanism.
Any kind of tension can send them into attack mode as was seen with Trinity.
It's as common as it is in breeding a racehorse for speed and aggression.
The characteristics pass from generation to generation.

    Ignorance is ignoring pedigree.
And people who resort to the foulmouth usually do so because they are low level and know that they stand on shaky ground.
    It won't help you.
Many states and muncipalities are well aware of the danger and have put this breed in a restricted class of it's own.
They are outlawed in some places like Dade County in Florida and uninsuralble through property owners in other places.
In Detroit, if confiscated... they're euthanized.

Why wait so long to muzzle ? For production purposes ?
Might a 'e' collar help...? To use when strong sign appears that dog is about to attack ?
I don't know of course but it is apparent that some owners ought not have dogs with this potential, as Cesar comments on sometimes.
Our local humane society will not adopt out pits to families with small children. They do however adopt to adults who are in some respects immature like children .
All is not perfect but we all benefit from cesars efforts and insights.

@CesarMillanFan5183 The reason people are so against the pitbull is that they have been bred to fight, so while they may cause the same amount of bites as other dogs like labs, they are so strong and instinctive that a bite from a pitbull causes much more damage than a bite from another dog. Theyre also aggressive (instinctively thriough selective breeding) so theres usually not just one bite. People dont want the aggression shown between pitbulls in this video to be turned people or children

Well... and here we have, not necessarily your comment, but, a slew of them, a compliment of people who have become defensive without really comprehending what was said.
I said that people who were going to have this breed, should have the TRAINING to handle the dog.
But , what I've often seen is that people who pick the "BULLY BREEDS" have issues of defensiveness of their own and they are projecting through the dog.
Certainly not all of them, but enough to make their choices questionable.

  • @ancestralblue
    @ancestralblue 14 ปีที่แล้ว

This is not a racial issue and Cesar Millan has a greater understanding of the projected energy problem.
Pitbulls do have an aggressive instinct...in that way you are right...but in the right hands it can be deflected and used purposefully in the same way that one taps the explosive energy of a racehorse and converts it to purpose.
But possession should only go to people who have had proper training.
But in the wrong hands...yes...attack is a great possibility.

    I know,
people are so quick to jump to being insulting on the internet but only because you know that in person they would never talk that way.
this is a tough subject. because even the fact that pits score better than Many other favored dogs on temperament tests and such, the real issue is that when they Do bite, it is usually more damaging than other dog bites. the fact that they are generally bred to fight, combined with bad owners, makes for bad reputations.

It's amazing just how pure conversation over this brings out the hatred and aggression of of those who support this breed.
This is precisely why some people choose this dog.
It's all about projected hatred, aggression and fear that forms their feeling/emotional self.
The dog becomes an innocent conduit for the aggression as he is tension sensitive.
You all just keep proving it all out.
    Underneath...you're all out of control.

Just gotta say its reckless and also selfish to keep that dog. Is she dangerous? Can we get real people? Most people have good dogs, agreed but with this issue we don't always have Cesar Milan to help us out. What about the dogs who are put down? This owner is bad. Also, the pitbull breed should probably be outlawed. Generically, it is mean and bad for most people. I think we call can agree on that at least.

    Yes...you're right they are.
You can have a dog like this who can be very affectionate, but, he has a tension sense that's like an antenna that picks up tension in other critters, people etc.
It can be applied as a protective measure or it can set him off with even those he has affection for.
In the case of the killer whale, he's called "killer whale" because he's not a baleen whale but, he's a toothed meat eater.
He is, however, not a critter to be held in a tank for amusement.

I could tell way before that happened those dogs were going to fight. You could tell especially when they were still and standing next to each other.
I'd put the dog to sleep though. You can't have dogs like that around people.

Being held like that can seriously raise the frustration level and cause just what happened to that trainer.
Killer whales hunt for fish and seals and they are much better off in the ocean with little contact with man beyond passing boats.
Living in a tank is a type of cruelty that can precipitate such problems.
And a killer whale is really a large dolphin, so the intelligence and awareness will be similar.

@ancestralblue Well said, They are bred for fighting and have some of the strongest jaws and highest pain thresholds of any dog. And yes you are right, they do have a very sensitive trigger mechanism. My buddy had a "friendly" pitbull, I could pet that thing and it was calm as could be. I even had him play around with my german shorthaired pointer and they got along fine. But one day it attacked my buddy and tore him up pretty badly. Just out of the blue.

This dog attacked 2 pitbulls and yet it's allowed out again? Why was this dog introduced into the "pack"again? Classic training of cesar milan, the people who worship this guy so much should look up cesar abuse. There is a video of this "trainer" kicking dogs in the gut to get them to stop doing what they are doing and even a video of him out there hanging a dog and when asked why he simply rides it off as "there are different ways to train and this is my way." Look it up and be educated on him.

If you actually watched the episode you would literally answer your own questions. The owners brought out Trinity’s excited/aggressive side after being rehabilitated for a month with no issues.
