Well done Elliot! I am native English, born and bred in South Staffordshire. All non-native English language students should watch your videos if they want to learn how to speak everyday English and also learn about our culture and good manners. Brilliant!!
Dear Elliot! thanks a million for your videous! They are really of great importance for me because you give me a chance to feel modern English. I`m not as young as you are, I`m about 70,and your lessons help me teach my students in a propper way .Your lessons help them understand younger generation of your country,it`s very important I think.Good luck, with best wishes from Russia
Thanks ETJ. Really I m learning from you. I love british accent than American. Now I live in london. Please guide me how to be native and how easy I get listening. in this video you also mentioned you made a video on how to connect word. could you please send me link
Hi Elliot! I'm Margo. I'm so glad I found your channel, thanks to Suggested videos. It's such a treat to watch and listen to you! You're the epitome of a real English bloke - sophisticated classy gentleman with a cool twist, I mean you've got a nice sense of humour, you're not a hypocrite or snob, you can laugh at yourself, which is really cool. It may seem strange that I watch such videos since I became fluent in English ages ago (this is one of my hobbies), but I still think there's always something to learn. Besides, my speaking became rusty due to lack of practice for a long time, but recently I was given a task to work as a guide for a foreign group in a museum I work. It was out of blue, I had no time to prepare and did it from scratch fully in English (noone else could do this except for me). Thanks goodness it worked! In my time I had got some serious practice with native speakers, and it turns out I didn't lose the skills after all these years! It was uplifting and encouraging, but I decided to give my skills some brush. Also, I'd love to try to put on a British accent for a change since my pronunciation has always been way too americanised. And you seem to be an excellent source! Take care!
This is totally useful! I really wanted to know what you've mentioned in this video! Making questions are easier than answering our own opinions or feelings because we're required two skills like Listening and Speaking at a time without thinking too much in our head. Most all students who love your channel could understand what you're talking about but we just find it really hard to make a sentence and answer it in English in no time‥ there's going to be a lot of factors but I think one thing is cultural differences. I mean everyone has their culture and traditions and our language is influenced by them so much! for example, I never say ″god bless you″ when someone sneezes! It's our culture! so I think we need to keep gathering and stocking patterns and examples from you to try and build our better understanding not only English but also its background and culture!
Idk why.. but i do understand your lessons easily. I understand what you are saying. Its very clear. Not fast but clear. Hope my english getting better hhehe
American spending winter on the rugged Oregon coast. I watch your videos because your accent and teaching skills are spot on. And I like watching a TH-camr produce videos of better and better technical quality. This one is your best yet. Wish I could be a student. PS - you look healthier since you got home.
Thanks very much, Tom! I love receiving comments like this. Thanks for watching my videos. Yes, I feel a lot healthier now I'm home! I think I lost a lot of weight when I was travelling South East Asia, when I really didn't need to.
I'm so grateful you've done this video. "Up to much?" has always been my most hated question in English as I didn't know how to answer to this properly. Probably as this question simply doesn't exist in other languages, at least the ones I speak. Thank you so much, Elliot! :)
Lovely video. I have to say, I knew the meaning of the phrase, it was an Easy guess, but I havent really heard It much from my Brits friends here in London, maybe few times. I get loads of "how have you been?" "what have you been up to? but without the "much". Maybe I have weird friends x
