As a car guy I have to say this, getting rid of Sidwinders' roof wouldn't automatically make him faster. Yes you've made the roof area lighter, but now he needs more stuctural support in the doors and frame to make up the lost rgidity of a hardtop, which will add that weight back. Also, unless the body was adjusted, his aerodynamics would also be affected by the loss of a roof, as modern cars use aerodynamics to help them go faster. Not saying he couldn't be faster without a roof, just saying there would have to be more changes made to offset the loss of rigidity and the change in aerodynamics.
Well you still are wrong, because you work on cars that humans drive, not robots that drive themselves, think of it as running with backpack yeah. You remove that backpack and you can run faster. Yea sure talk all you want bout how you are a car guy, but these are Autobots not even real cars, they are the idealized version of the car they scan
He is also underrated in G1. He was the first one to ever be on screen, he was the first to transform, first to have a cybertronian mode, responsible for many episodes, Etc.
I would like to point out that Sideswipe being a convertible isnt weight reduction, it would be reinforcing him because convertible card have more structure underneath since they no longer have structure above. So it would be to make him faster it would be to make him more durable

7:00 actually a spoiler increases drag due to the lift creating more drag (I'll skip the why for anyone who does not have a degree in areospace engineering) the main benefit of it is that the increase of downforce leads to an increase of tyre grip allowing you to turn at faster speeds without losing control and more control at high speeds overall.
Despite him appearing once as Que in the Bayformers movie DOTM, he's an interesting character. Both in the blue robot design and his role as the Autobot's inventor in gadgets and weaponry.
Que was a great autobot, he was very smart and helped design and give upgrades to many of the autobots like my favorite autobot Bumblebee. Que designed and created cool weapons, like his own that we didn’t see him use in the movie which I wish we did. Que is just a great character, I wish we could have seen more of him.

Man, I really wish this was explained in some way in the films, because without their new forms and weapons and such being explained it makes it feel like there's no consistency between the films. That's actually one of the reasons I felt the Transformer films were lacking. Every movie prior to the first there was some big change made to how the characters looked, how they fought, there style of weapons, and new transformer characters were introduced without any sort of explanation, and that just made it feel like each movie occurs in a slightly different reality where there's small difference's in what happened and how. I just hope this new Transformers shared Movie-verse does explain those sort of changes and feels far more consistent.

Something I read on a wiki a long time ago, is that no two transformation animations in the movies are ever the same, and that transformers are partially made of a sort of "liquid metal" similar to the nano technology used in the fourth movie. Different transformers supposedly have varying amounts of it, and this allows some individuals such as Laserbeak to be much more fluid in their transformations, and much more diverse, than others. This supposedly also explains why Bumble grows a missile launcher on his shoulder (i think?) when he's missing his legs and firing at a decepticon while being dragged by that truck, driven by Michaela. I don't know who wrote it or how cannon it is, but it's interesting.

Remember the "Arrival of the Autobots" scene in the first movie, how the protoform Optimus scanned the truck and visibly "grew" the smoke stacks and the other details like the autobot symbol? Ratchet, being the medical officer, actually repaired him but he "wouldn't look the same", that's why he looks like Albert Einstein in the movie. And to support the idea that rising storm is still canon: optimus prime when he faced shockwave actually felt more angry at him. That's at least something I noticed. But when you look at the comic, optimus had a reason to have anger when he faced shockwave, because most of his autobots almost died (Elita one being VERY dead.), optimus was pissed off and almost killed shockwave in the comic, giving him a massive head damaged. And when we see the film, it actually makes sense as to why he's angry at shockwave more.

You know, one thing that has all ways stumped me to this very day about Dotm is the autobot execution scene(you know, the scene where Wheeljack/Que gets killed). I say this because in this scene, Bumblebee does nothing to save his friend Wheeljack. He could've easily blasted Dylan to bits while he was monologuing to Soundwave about how Soundwave is gonna kill the Autobots. Now let's go over all the transformers movies up to Dotm. Bumblebee was able to have a 1v1 with Barricade in Transformers 2007, was able to survive getting his legs blown off in the same movie and was able to survive the battle of mission city, was able to have a 1v2 with Ravage and Rampage in RotF, was able to survive operation firestorm(you know, a bomb blast that killed almost all of the decepticons), and was able to take down the Dreads in Dotm. So he was able to survive all of those events, but he wasn't able to take down a single protoform (which are basically stormtroopers of the Bayverse who miss every shot they shoot).
I noticed the change to Optimus' abs the first time I saw the DOTM trailer. But I didn't notice this forearms change until you pointed them out in this video. Thanks.
Great video. Only issue I have is Sideswipe, while you'd think convertibles would weigh less they traditionally actually weigh more due to more reinforcement being added through the floor as the roof is missing so Sideswipe would most likely be heavier than he was before. I know this is old, but Optimus transformed differently in DOTM as well. When he's mad and Ironhide smacks him, his cab turns into kind of a cape shape on his back.

Well no one knows where they went during the fight but at the end you can clearly see crosshairs standing along side everyone else, so maybe the dinobots, knights, and Cogman were on the ship drift was flying

Ironhide’s cannons are said to be very outdated compared to other weapons, apparently the ammunition was rare, Earth’s stache doesn’t have any. Which I believe was why he ditched them at the end of ROTF. probs out of ammo.
Actually, Wheeljack/Que is one of my favorites. His toy is my favorite deluxe from the DOTM Toyline and i was very sad when they killed him off after giving him only a few seconds on screen.

Tbh having hand held weapons would be a best alternative, like why waste time and resources to replace a severed limb because it had your built-in weapons, if your in a enemies perspective disarming them in a close or long range combat would be a weak point, meaning they're gonna target your weapons if they wanted to that would also mean they're going to rip your arms if close, so having hand held weapons can be your main while-built in would be a back up. Hand held weapons can give more mobility and can be easy to dispose instead using your entire arm as a gun to be exposed during a fight.

Convertible vehicles are actually a lot heavier then vehicles with no roofs. They have to reinforce the frame so that way the car doesn’t cave when you get in a accident
Ik you’re probably not a car guy, but I think making Sideswipe a convertible would actually weigh him down. Without a strong roof at all times, a convertible needs to have stronger supports SOMEWHERE in the car.

And if Sideswipe is a plain old roadster without a folding roof, he'll still need extra supports in the base of the car, which would still weigh him down (even though there's the reduced weight of no roof, there's usually beams running through the base of the car for extra strength that would actually make the car weigh more).
I still wish they could've at least let him look like his g1 counterpart cause that albert einstein look still kinda creeps me out but still love the vehicle form tho

Bumblebee was able to have a 1v1 with Barricade in Transformers 2007, was able to survive getting his legs blown off in the same movie and was able to survive the battle of mission city, was able to have a 1v2 with Ravage and Rampage in RotF, was able to survive operation firestorm(you know, a bomb blast that killed almost all of the decepticons), and was able to take down the Dreads in Dotm. So he was able to survive all of those events, but he wasn't able to take down a single protoform (which are basically stormtroopers of the Bayverse who miss every shot they shoot).
The autobots wouldn't kill humans as prime stated in tf1, bee stood by this rule no matter how bad the human was

I noticed the change to Optimus' abs the first time I saw the DOTM trailer. But I didn't notice this forearms change until you pointed them out in this video. Thanks.
Great video. Only issue I have is Sideswipe, while you'd think convertibles would weigh less they traditionally actually weigh more due to more reinforcement being added through the floor as the roof is missing so Sideswipe would most likely be heavier than he was before.

I know this is old, but Optimus transformed differently in DOTM as well. When he's mad and Ironhide smacks him, his cab turns into kind of a cape shape on his back.
WOOOWW!! I never thought of Que as an underrated character because I love the bots and cons equally. But GOD DANG was he fricken useful!! I mean how else would these Autobots possibly have such armory, you think they kept it stored somewhere? Seriously though this is a mind blowing for how much Que has done before his death. Well no one knows where they went during the fight but at the end you can clearly see crosshairs standing along side everyone else, so maybe the dinobots, knights, and Cogman were on the ship drift was flying

Ironhide’s cannons are said to be very outdated compared to other weapons, apparently the ammunition was rare, Earth’s stache doesn’t have any. Which I believe was why he ditched them at the end of ROTF. probs out of ammo.

He was actually one of my faves from that movie, it was nice seeing an autobot that wasnt cocky and more humble.
Actually, Wheeljack/Que is one of my favorites. His toy is my favorite deluxe from the DOTM Toyline and i was very sad when they killed him off after giving him only a few seconds on screen.

Literally any minor character in the Bayformers movies are underrated.
Tbh having hand held weapons would be a best alternative, like why waste time and resources to replace a severed limb because it had your built-in weapons, if your in a enemies perspective disarming them in a close or long range combat would be a weak point, meaning they're gonna target your weapons if they wanted to that would also mean they're going to rip your arms if close, so having hand held weapons can be your main while-built in would be a back up. Hand held weapons can give more mobility and can be easy to dispose instead using your entire arm as a gun to be exposed during a fight.

Convertible vehicles are actually a lot heavier then vehicles with no roofs. They have to reinforce the frame so that way the car doesn’t cave when you get in a accident

Ik you’re probably not a car guy, but I think making Sideswipe a convertible would actually weigh him down. Without a strong roof at all times, a convertible needs to have stronger supports SOMEWHERE in the car.

@@Theorymus Well, roadsters CAN be convertibles. And if Sideswipe is a plain old roadster without a folding roof, he'll still need extra supports in the base of the car, which would still weigh him down (even though there's the reduced weight of no roof, there's usually beams running through the base of the car for extra strength that would actually make the car weigh more).
I still wish they could've at least let him look like his g1 counterpart cause that albert einstein look still kinda creeps me out but still love the vehicle form tho
