Love your content. I use to live in South FL and did a lot of fishing as a kid on the gulf coast. Now live in NC and just got into kayak fishing. Your content motivated me to purchase an AP120 and going to learn to fish the NC coast. Keep doing what you’re doing. You prove you don’t need a 60k boat to do some awesome fishing
Very informative JC. Just haven’t pulled the trigger on a Yak. 3rd floor apartment n no elevator. Not to mention my age or place to store. However what you shared makes very good sense n I see your a safe person when on the water.
I’m about to purchase an old town pedal drive hence how I found this video. I appreciate you goin though everything quickly. That was refreshing. Lot of good ideas here
Awesome informative video sir. Please keep them going I wish people made more informative videos like you what I mean videos that you can actually understand what you're talking about thank you again and God bless
Your video is definitely different than I expected and not very technical more a matter of these are the things I have found that I like and serve me well. It looks like you are having a good day I will let you get back to it.
Dude, that VersaBrilla is the JUICE! I own 3 of them. 1 for my Old Town Sportsman 106 and 2 for camp chairs when husband and I bank fish. Folds down short enough to store in the hatch below deck. 💘 It!
Hey Hey JC. Good to see you man. Love the set up here. Fortunately we don't need all of this in our Kayaks all he time lol You're going to have a heart attack from trying to talk so fast. All great information especially for those of us just getting started. It's easy to waste a lot of money getting the wrong items. Thanks JC. The Wilderness Cart has been a lifesaver.. The Malone Cart like to have killed me. I like to put my cart directly under the 120 Auto Seat. I can push my yak on it's side place the Cart up against the bottom and pull the yak back over and bingo. attache the straps and go.. Right into my van. Only 1 big push each trip to get the yark and cart loaded. Even I can handle that.
Awesome brotha! You brought out this video at the perfect timing selecting my kayaking gear! Man I so love kayak fishing! What an amazing first time experience last weekend! Man I feel like I'm a whole new world in fishing. I'm hooked now compared to land fishing. I'll eventually pier and bridge again...but it'll be awhile...it's so much fun. Keep it coming...need more tips like this!
@@ronnierussell8405 yeah it's an amazing experience, especially not having much access to using boats and getting to areas that's hard to get to in skinny waters. It's an amazing adventure you'll see. Enjoy it out there!
I ordered myself a 106 sportsman powered by minn kota kayak last month and am still waiting, should be coming here soon but anyways thanks alot for this video, I have been scowering across the web for some of these items so the amazon links were very helpful! Keep doing what you are doing JC, the videos are great! 😎🤙💯👍
Great video as usual, definitely want to upgrade my cart and cooler. I have a question on how you bleed out your fish. I haven’t seen you show it, but do you just let them bleed out on the deck of the kayak? Makes sense, was thinking of doing that myself, just don’t want to make a smelly mess.
I don’t get the milk crate thing either… I just use a backpack, much easier to get the whole thing in front of you and get what you need, then throw it behind you when done… no? Unless one really wants to have several rod holders mounted somewhere…
@@RadReelingFishing I am going to be picking up a Hobie in the next 12 months. Trying to get as much info as I can. Have been fishing with Brandon of Emerald Waters Kayak Charters in Navarre for a few years and ready to get my own. Wish I could show you some picture. Always done pretty well.
So paddle length, well I see the water your paddling in and your boat. I built my first skin hide & wood laced kayak when I was twelve. and have paddled around the World in all oceans, including the Arctic. The reason you want a really short, strong stumpy paddle in a Kayak? Because the lower your Boat sits in the Water, the lower your body axis points are; Head Shoulders, Knees and Toes. Hip axis point or fulcrum (below water line)should be as deep as your body structure allows, longer arms= deeper keel. So basically you need a really short, stout and skinny paddle reaching deep to just keep yourself barely at water level for days or sometimes weeks on a trip gone survivable again. My first Kayak and skills learned were on the lake shores and estuaries of the Great Salt Lake where my Tribe lived.
You can rubberize that net yourself, there's vids on YT of it. Also if you use the net right it won't fold up on you.Gotta lift the net and fish with the handle vertical or near to it depending on size/weight of fish not horizontal.Lifting fish with a handle horizontal is how people break the majority of nets. Yak Attack stuff is way overpriced.Plenty of other cheaper $ stuff that does the same thing as theirs. When you anchor you have to use the right scope for them to do what they're supposed to do.I use 1 and once in a while 2 of those 3lb anchors on my yak river fishing and 2 when fishing calmer water. They hold me exactly where I want them to in some decent current with the proper scope. Then rigging it properly will keep it from getting stuck and you not being able to break if free.
Hey JC with your great video review of the 120 autopilot I made the purchase of 2 looking for a cart am interested in the wilderness one wanted to know if I should do beach tires or the tires you have majority of your video is when you ready to go not the part you using the cart so can’t tell if they do good in the sand or not ?
Time marked this video of a short pull through the sand th-cam.com/video/G_Odl702mSY/w-d-xo.html I generally don't haul a kayak long distances in the sand so I can't help much. I opted out of getting the larger balloon wheels mainly because I have a two door car with not enough room for the big wheels. I hope this helps a little.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I can't comment on something I've never used, but I can tell you that the AutoPilot 120 is the most versatile kayak ever. The electric motor with GPS anchoring capabilities really separates the AutoPilot 120 from the competition.
I don't know how detailed you're going to be as I can spend 15 minutes just explaining how to apply an anchor to a kayak but at least it looks like you put your anchor together correctly so I'm willing to listen right now. I've spent 30 years throwing anchors off of everything from a kayak to a junk I only ever purchased one anchor per boat and I still have every single one of those anchors. Moreover land does not move right. So far I have spent the entire day today on TH-cam trying to find one paddler that I would be willing to spend a week with fishing over the Marianas Trench. I have some knowledge I want to pass on but first I want to make certain that my students will not make assumptions but will rely on logic and science and History all right you one more time once I have finished your video but don't worry the world is already too dark I will not throw any shade.

Great 👍 video JC . Thank you !! I sheared this video with my coworker that just bought a Kayak last week !!
I was hesitant spending money on the wilderness cart but I’m glad I did. That thing is a tank and carries my kayak fully loaded with ease!
How good is taking the cart thru sand not using the beach wheel ?

Love hearing the pronunciation of mora kinives. Morakniv.
Well, morak-niv sure sounds right to me...mora is missing kniv, ha ha...If they wanted it to be a Mora why didn't they just say so in the first place?
