  • The government of Tanzania has estimated that it will cost $2.7 billion(KSh378billion) to construct the second longest bridge in the world after China’s Hong Kong link, spanning 50 kilometers, connecting the mainland to the Zanzibar Islands.
The project will add to the country's mega projects that include the 2200km SGR line connecting Tanzania to DRC, the oil pipeline from Uganda to Dar Salaam, the Dodoma International Airport and many more.

This is a crazy idea. We have so many issues to build and not that bridge. No economic benefits to that project.

Another dept trap. Tanzania would be better served by developing its manufacturing capabilities and modernizing its agriculture. Expanding its SGR rail network beyond present plans and to be built in a much shorter time frame, then presently. Set up multiple industrial parks in all of its cities. Also, to have the mind frame that economic development, including manufacturing in all the East African Federation countries, would benefit Tanzania.

I'm against the project because of low impact we are supposed to invest in agriculture technology inorder to increase the sector tha brings many Tanzanians.

Should such a project take place, then a road connection is NOT WORTH IT! Government should persue a rail connection instead! Also, if feasible, a submerged tunnel should be the optimal way to go for such a project

After WWII that amount of infrastructure that was built by American money is unbelievable, and the amount of infrastructure that was built by Japan from the 70s to the 80s. So what?
