I had a conversation with Rex through the video call a few months ago! Very humble and down-to-earth guy! He has a lot of wisdom and knowledge as someone who's been a professional musician for more than 50 years now! As a young artist who's only just starting and also studying music at the Con (where Rex studied in the late 1970's), it was amazing to hear from someone who's already achieved so much in the music industry! He may not realise this but he's a legend in Australia and internationally, and he has contributed to the soundtrack of so many people's lives! I'm from Sydney as well so I'm hoping to perhaps meet him in person at his next show! Thanks for sharing this conversation Jon!
Oh thats lovely!!! I've been a fan of his ever since I listened to the 1st album he play for Air Supply! Thru the years..he has become my guitar hero, and good friend! He's a lovely man.
Rex is a wonderful person and a brilliant guitarist. I was fortunate enough to meet him in 1983 in Sydney when I was working as an area manager for Australis Music when Rex did some guitar and amp clinics for us featuring Ibanez and Peavey. His performances and presentations (and stereo amp expose's - Toto's "Africa" I recall well) were outstanding and always blew the audiences of keen young musicians away. A true gentleman and humble soul. May God bless him and his family and give him many more enjoyable years of making wonderful music. One of Australia's best guitarists and musicians!
I had the opportunity recently to meet Rex through a mutual friend and I was impressed by his humility and polite disposition, a real gentleman. His playing has always been an inspiration regardless of the genre. 👍🙂
What an eye opening interview, thank you for hosting the interview! I had the privilege to meet Rex's brother during my internship at a company he worked at. He was very kind to everyone including me and we talked about guitar as well!
What a joy to hear the interview between you and Rex. I am going to have to re-listen to the first four albums. You two look like good friends. Jon nice change from your normal equipment reviews. I thought the video and interview was done really well. Thank you

Rex Goh's solo on To the Moon and Back is one of my all time favorites. So tasteful and melodic.
