They've kept a lot of the deep cuts outside of gameplay catered to Fatal Fury, although KOF has definitely made an impact on Terry's moveset. Maybe they'll branch out to the OG, pre-KOF sister series of Fatal Fury, just so Mai can have as much fanservice (SNK fanservice, not just the...ya know 😉) in her update as Terry has.

I love how both the Street Fighter team and the Smash Ultimate team had the same thought process: "let's cram absolutely every single reference we can into this character". Also, I bet when Mai comes out, Andy will come along and complete the Fatal Fury main trio
This was a beautiful tribute from Capcom to the Neo-Geo. I was impressed with the carefully implemented timing of the moves and their animations. A player of the Fatal Fury series will have no trouble adapting. Congratulations.

So basically capcom was fanboing or fangirling with Terry. Cause since I'm more of an snk fan i can clearly tell how much research they did for Terry. Imma go ahead and say it. Terry is by far the best guest character in any fighting game ever with akuma from tekken 7 and spawn from mortal Kombat 11 following closely behind. That's my opinion. It's not objectively right

You can do the normal SNK input to do Power Geyser, and it changes the attack effect to match Fatal Fury's more than KOF. The pillar is more vertical. I don't believe this has ANY gameplay implications at all, it's just an easter egg.
I'm genuinely happy about how Capcom respected SNK with this DLC, I'm pretty sure Mai Shiranui will also bring a lot of new cameos, easter eggs and secrets (I'd like to see Hokutomaru on Mai's stage, the kid deserves some respect)
Surprised that Desk didn't showcase the Burnout Ground Wave easter egg. If Terry uses OD Power Wave and it causes him to burnout, he will instead of using the regular voice line use his Ground Wave voiceline from Fatal Fury 1 with the voice effect and everything.
They not only gave us Terry but they did so much with just having Mary and Joe in the background, them being there and in WT. like damn, they didnt have to do all that but they did. Now I'm really excited about Mais addition to the game now.

Between the loading screen with Terry's pet monkey juggling Blanka-chan dolls, the Flying Kim, the Joe and Mary moves taught to your avatar, the old Power Geyser motion, the Ryu-Terry fight and handshake and having both og games intros in the cutscenes making sense... I'd say CAPCOM PUT A LOT OF LOVE AND EFFORT IN THIS DLC! This really has a "Daddy's back from the store with the milk and no cigarettes because he quit smoking!" energy, and I LOVE EVERY SECOND OF IT!
Although I want to think the Monkey IS Ukii, imho the Neo Geo Loading screen Monkey and Terry's pet are two different characters, I remember his pet from Real Bout special playing with Mary's Dog Anton and it it doesn't have those big ears nor it has a lot of hues on it aside from the light brown fur and has a mean power geiser, so yeah I think CAPCOM missed adding the little guy and only has enough room for one Monkey.
Devs went really deep in to the FF series, and I'm here for it. Crazy to think we could've had Blue Mary and Joe in SF6 too, they both fit the neutch aesthetic of fight
They did my boy justice with this DLC and I can't wait to get both SF6 and the fighter packs. They even gave Blue Mary a lot of love as well, hoping she also becomes a DLC character in the future!
@@DontKnowDontCare6.9 yeah, that's why I don't like CapvsSnk 1 and 2, besides the SNK characters being nerfed, I think they didn't have as much care in the sprites, In fact, many of the SNK character sprites in these games are honestly bad done and don't do the characters justice. But in this Terry dlc in SF6, I can see that they took a lot of care and respect, making such good gameplay and putting in so many references, I think there were a lot of SNK fans working at Capcom on SF6.

CAPCOM did a very good collaboration, and so many easter eggs for Fatal Fury fans. 1. Terry's theme: Kurikinton is arranged version of Fatal Fury 2. 2. The facial expression "angry"(+→) is exactly same as Real Bout2. 3. Special people in world tour mode in honor of FF: 餅月三角(Mochiduki Sankaku) as 望月双角(Mochiduki Sokaku) & Duck Queen as Duck King. And also fake Andy, Joe Higashi & Mary. I believe Mai's update will keep same high quality, as she is so popular and unique in SNK's history.
I look at this and see nothing but love, detail and perfect catering to the fans....and it makes me almost cry that MK has done the exact opposite. Fucking well done, Capcom.
When you battle the folks out in the street in the fateful day knockout tournament, the theme that plays is a remix of Duck King's West Subway theme from the original Fatal Fury. You can even check it out in the music gallery.
Another thing I noticed, if you OD power wave and it burns you out, the voice line is the same as the terry from fatal fury. I haven’t tried it with other moves tho.
If there’s one thing you can NEVER say about Capcom it is that they don’t care. Capcom puts love into EVERYTHING they make even if said products aren’t the best (ex. MvCi despite being mid was still jam-packed full of references and details that fans can recognize and appreciate)
The attention to detail here is unreal, I can't think of any guest character in any game that got this much love, makes me wonder what SNK have planned for Ken in Fatal Fury.
Another Easter Egg involving Terry's burnout. If you do a EX Power Wave that outs him into burnout, his voiceline is replaced with his Power Wave voiceline from the original Fatal Fury. As far as I'm aware, it is his only Special that does that.
Some other things. Blue Mary's drink is called a "blue mary" and she actually gives out the recipe in one of her dialogue choices. Also, you can pet Anton.
5:16 I don't understand why there aren't more things like this in World Tour mode. I don't even care if the moves are bad, new special moves for world tour avatars not tied to existing fighters would be incredible mission rewards... and the NPCs use a TON of moves that you can't get as a player that would work just fine as reward specials.
Because that would take away development time they could actually be using to flesh out the characters. One or two moves is an Easter egg, 10 or 20 or more is just too much for what is effectively just a long tutorial versus developing those moves for a full character
@@KaitouKaiju The thing is, the moves *already exist*. The NPCs use them, most of which are just World Tour avatars themselves. Sure, they'd have to do some balance work if they want those moves to be not absolutely terrible, but there's no reason they simply can't be absolutely terrible.

It's just a no-nonsense easter egg in the original FFSP. There a few other easter eggs in that game (the chicks from the barrel is another one).
That or maybe Zan'Ei Ken. I like that move.
Kuuha Dan is considered Andy's unique signature more throughout the years. If they are adding any move, then they are definitely adding that.

The first one is actually a reference to Rock’s win animation when he wins with Shine Knuckle in Garou. It even has the jacket land on the opponent.

Devs went really deep in to the FF series, and I'm here for it. Crazy to think we could've had Blue Mary and Joe in SF6 too, they both fit the neutch aesthetic of fight

They did my boy justice with this DLC and I can't wait to get both SF6 and the fighter packs. They even gave Blue Mary a lot of love as well, hoping she also becomes a DLC character in the future!

@@DontKnowDontCare6.9 yeah, that's why I don't like CapvsSnk 1 and 2, besides the SNK characters being nerfed, I think they didn't have as much care in the sprites, In fact, many of the SNK character sprites in these games are honestly bad done and don't do the characters justice.
But in this Terry dlc in SF6, I can see that they took a lot of care and respect, making such good gameplay and putting in so many references, I think there were a lot of SNK fans working at Capcom on SF6.
So much lively details in the background. That flying Kim was lol.

One quick correction: Terry's regular costume PERFECT win pose is actually based on his Fatal Fury 1 win pose.
CAPCOM did a very good collaboration, and so many easter eggs for Fatal Fury fans.
1. Terry's theme: Kurikinton is arranged version of Fatal Fury 2.
2. The facial expression "angry"(+→) is exactly same as Real Bout2.
3. Special people in world tour mode in honor of FF: 餅月三角(Mochiduki Sankaku) as 望月双角(Mochiduki Sokaku) & Duck Queen as Duck King. And also fake Andy, Joe Higashi & Mary.
I believe Mai's update will keep same high quality, as she is so popular and unique in SNK's history.

When you battle the folks out in the street in the fateful day knockout tournament, the theme that plays is a remix of Duck King's West Subway theme from the original Fatal Fury.

Another thing I noticed, if you OD power wave and it burns you out, the voice line is the same as the terry from fatal fury. I haven’t tried it with other moves tho.

If there’s one thing you can NEVER say about Capcom it is that they don’t care. Capcom puts love into EVERYTHING they make even if said products aren’t the best (ex. MvCi despite being mid was still jam-packed full of references and details that fans can recognize and appreciate)

The attention to detail here is unreal, I can't think of any guest character in any game that got this much love, makes me wonder what SNK have planned for Ken in Fatal Fury.
Another Easter Egg involving Terry's burnout. If you do a EX Power Wave that outs him into burnout, his voiceline is replaced with his Power Wave voiceline from the original Fatal Fury. As far as I'm aware, it is his only Special that does that.
Some other things. Blue Mary's drink is called a "blue mary" and she actually gives out the recipe in one of her dialogue choices. Also, you can pet Anton.

5:16 I don't understand why there aren't more things like this in World Tour mode. I don't even care if the moves are bad, new special moves for world tour avatars not tied to existing fighters would be incredible mission rewards... and the NPCs use a TON of moves that you can't get as a player that would work just fine as reward specials.
Because that would take away development time they could actually be using to flesh out the characters. One or two moves is an Easter egg, 10 or 20 or more is just too much for what is effectively just a long tutorial versus developing those moves for a full character
@@KaitouKaiju The thing is, the moves *already exist*. The NPCs use them, most of which are just World Tour avatars themselves. Sure, they'd have to do some balance work if they want those moves to be not absolutely terrible, but there's no reason they simply can't be absolutely terrible.
