    You have a good boat brutha I have a tracker as well and they can stand up to some pretty hard weather like I say if it gets bad and I get to the boat ramp I’m good the rest is a piece of cake!!😅

      They are a solid boat. Quite amazing what we can put them through. I like that they can handle the rough stuff but I prefer not to do that often lol. Great to hear from other Tracker owners such as yourself. Thanks for stopping by and tight lines!

    Man you did great. I just got my first bass boat about a month ago, so Im already on my 6th trip taking it out and I use the rope method. I know its a drive up trailer but its just so simple and fast for me. Ive tried driving it up a few times and always fail lol Im not giving up learning on how to do it. But Im super comfortable doing it that way. I probably would have walked my boat down the dock and around the corner and pulled it up lol Again amazing job! Im gonna save this video as a reference on how to take on strong wind!

      Thanks Bud! Your comments are greatly appreciated. Everyone has their way of loading the boat on the trailer. Whatever you're comfortable with I always say. In this instance I decided to try it this way. Was it the right way....I don't know lol.
      I was told when coming in on strong winds to not come straight in but off to the side and let the wind blow you into center. Obviously timing is everything. I got lucky lol. Happy you found this useful. Enjoy that new bass boat of yours. Hope you get lots of use out of it. Tight lines!

    I found myself in the same situation last May...at the our launch the wind blow me into a shallow bay next to the launch...I was able to get to private dock about 200 meters from the launch...wound up walking my boat over to the launch (only 2ft of water)...it took me about an hour to load my boat...it was a rough start to the fishing season...I'm lucky that it didn't happen again....for the record last summer was the windiest on record for southeaster Manitoba.....hoping for a calmer fishing season.

      You gotta hate those windy days especially when it's not in your favour of taking the boat out. I'm glad I never had to go to the extent you did. That sounds like a lot of work. Honestly I think I had a little luck on my side. Happy to hear you got the boat out safely. The wind here in southern Ontario was a nuisance last year too. At least it was when I had to go out lol. Hoping for a good boating season this year. Take care and tight lines!

    I’m new to boating could you drop some tips on what you did to navigate this. I like how you did the full reset and came back in.
    I tried to drive my boat today and damn there got pushed on to the ramp because I had a time trying to learn to steer. Any advice would be appreciated, trying to learn this on my own.

      Hey DJ! I was told by a couple of people that when dealing with high winds like this to never try to line the boat on the center. Instead...in my case the wind was blowing from my left side so I lined the boat to the left side to the trailer. Timing is everything. By the time I got to the trailer the wind had put me where I had to be which was on center. Trust me even with experience it's easy to mess up but the more you do it the easier it gets. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.

      Thanks Chad. I was a new boater trying to figure out my way. I was happy with the result. Lots of boaters such as yourself have probably endured some pretty nasty stuff loading boats. Good captains are not made on calm seas lol. Thanks for watching.

    Power poles help a lot in this situation.

      Hey Baker! Thanks for the suggestion. I always wanted to buy a set of power poles. I could see that being useful. Thanks for watching and tight lines!

      @austinwinter4575 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Considering a power pole for my tracker, how would you use one to your advantage for this situation? I can’t install two on my tracker so curious how useful one would be as well.

    • @X2OOutdoors
      @X2OOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@austinwinter4575 I personally can't answer that question because I don't have power poles. Hopefully one of the other guys can shed some light on them and their usefulness in this situation.

    Good Job... Boat Trailer Depth is the Single most important thing when loading your boat in high winds. You make a decision to put it in deep with a good trailer that will align the boat its' self, or put the trailer in at the proper depth when when you roll up it doesn't sway much. I wench my boat up while still on it so when I get off I'm done. It can be intimidating at 1st but now I'm sure you make the other boater with 2-4 people trying to load and unload look like idiots. LOL... Best to you.

    • @X2OOutdoors
      @X2OOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks very much! Couldn't agree more. I am very particular in the placement of the trailer with water height. I messed it up once and learned from that. In all honesty I was scared that day but since then I've gotten pretty good at it. I make quick work of it now :) Thanks for stopping by! Cheers!

    someone really needs to invent a little platform for the trailer toung for us guys that load by ourselves. we always stand on the trailer and it's always slippery and dangerous lol. just a couple small pieces of metal the clamp on with a slip-resistant top

    • @X2OOutdoors
      @X2OOutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a great idea! Definitely would help when you're loading by yourself. I step on there numerous times even when I'm not at a ramp. A little platform wouldn't hurt. Thanks for watching!

    Great job getting boat on trailer. As a rule of thumb I don't go out if wind is gusting over 15 mph. I am not a serious angler and I don't care if I catch a single fish. I knew someone who died when he flipped his boat in high wind. Save the wear and tear on your boat and body and live to fish another day.

    • @X2OOutdoors
      @X2OOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks very much Guy. I normally don't like going out in high winds and usually pick my days. Especially on big water. This lake isn't too bad size wise that's why I chose it. But the unexpected gusts late in the day thru me off. Being a newbie at the time I was happy with the end result. Thanks for watching!
