would an escrow based service ever be baked into the tbdex protocol... maybe in the future... standing between wallets and PFIs or will wallets who call for offerings always have to whitelist/vet the PFIs

The concept of Balance in regards to PFI is absolutely not clear to me.

it's for B2B scenarios where a wallet app may want to store a balance with a PFI to simplify and expedite a transfer. Instead of the customer paying in, the wallet app can tell the PFI "just take it from my balance i have with you". And the wallet would be the one to collect payment from the customer.
