  • A high gain external antenna is a great way to improve the performance of a cellular trail camera. This one is the Ridgetec Omni Directional, but our Directional is also an awesome choice. with this setup I was able to improve signal from 53% to 78%. That's a huge improvement and will give increased battery life as well as more reliable picture uploads to the server. #cellulartrailcamera #Ridgetec4glte #cellcam #boosterantenna #Verizon #att

    I just got a cell camera and my lease is in a creek bottom- Will probably have to go the same route you did there. Good information

    Any testing done with Muddy cams? We have a pile of muddy manifests.

      @anthonycrots2161 nope. I've never put my hands on a muddy but they all work on the same cellular bands so I would imagine similar results

    Is that a SMA Coaxial?

    • @herd360
      @herd360  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sma refers to the connector. Yes the connector on this camera is an SMA

    So instead of putting your money in battery"s you put in a antenna , no saving

      A better antenna system provides more reliable picture and video uploads because of a more stable network connection. It also saves power to do what a cellcam does by doing it more efficiently. Generally, people only run "booster" type antennas when they struggle with a signal, in which case investing in batteries would provide you no benefit. I never run AA batteries. All my cams are on external power, which I have been the industry leader in for many years. But better batteries do not help signal, so sometimes it takes both. Hope you have a productive season.
