Hiya from England. I worked with a lovely lady from Nigeria. we where chatting, and I asked her about cultural differences, and the things she missed from home. she said "My moms Jollof rice".
This is when I learned of Jollof rice. She made me some, and it was amazing. Love it.
I then learned that you can start an argument in West Africa, by saying that the country next door makes the best jollof rice, lol.

😂 this is so wholesome sheik but if you taste Senegalese Jolof it is the best. I am from Mali and we make jolof rice ( we call it Zameh or Chame in my country) about every two weeks and on special occasions but the jolof from Senegal is the best

I recently traveled to Nigeria and Ghana for 3 months. I'm from Jamaica but live in America, so I have no biases or favoritism for either, but the Nigerian jollof has more flavor, you can instantly taste the difference...but I heard Senegal is the best and the original. I can't wait to try the one from Senegal.

Although I appreciate your enthusiasm however, jollof was a kingdom in Senegambia from 1360-1549 whose most famous king ( burba jollof) was called Ndiadiane Ndiaye whose dad is a Moroccan Arab while his mum is Fatoumata salla a Fulani princess.

Brother Jollof is a tribe in Gambia and Senegal. And the food is their traditional food. My mum is from the tribe.
Jollof rice is a Senegalese dish nothing to do with Gambia. They just eat it like Nigerians or Ghanaians do. Fear Allah and stop lying. Jollof were invented during the French colonization, we Senegalese know our history. Also Wolof people live in Senegal, Mauritania, Gambia and Mali. What you think is Gambian food is not. Its Senegalese food and its heavily French influenced. Once again fear Allah.

We are talking about party jollof which is extravagantly furnished with lots of ingredients. Any cuisine tastes great depending how much money went into its preparation. But practically, the everyday Nigerian jollof is by far better tasting than the everyday Ghanaian jollof. The Sheik was only being diplomatic here
