I'm a lil jealous of the winter wonderland outside. We've got rain today. 😔 I really want to read Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell. I think the Dickens I'm going to read this year is The Old Curiosity Shop. I'm kind of excited about that one.
I know the the reason why I'm a new subbie and binge-watcher is because of your bookish content, but you have the most soothing voice.. such a delight to listen to!
Nicholas Nickleby is a good cold weather book. It's a favorite of mine. The Man Who Was Thursday is very good; I loved it. The ending I found to be unexpected.
I really enjoy Agatha Christie. I’ve read many of her books. My mom was a super fan and probably owned all of them in paperback. Some good recommendations. Thank you.
Nicholas Nickleby is my favorite of the Dickens that I have read so far! It’s incredibly funny and full of heart. I hope that you enjoy it! The 2002 film adaptation is also fabulous. ☺️
12:40 I really enjoyed the Martians Chronicles. It is a collection of short stories of his future history of Mars. By in large, they are unrelated besides the environment but some do refer to each other. I believe most of the stories were published prior to being compiled into the book.
The Frozen River is one that’s on my list for the first of the year. A lady at an antique shop highly recommended it to me…& because it’s about a midwife, my daughter is a doula & has had her 2 babies at home, so that added to my intrigue.
I haven't given my winter reading much thought yet. I know I want to read The Light Between Worlds for January. Frost Light would make a good January book. It has all of the cold and cozy vibes.
My daughter liked Jonathan Strange. I should try it. And You'll like Lord Edgware Dies, I think. I might be remembering the wrong one, but something about that struck me as funny. I want to start The Recorder series this year. I think you just gave me a cool video idea... hmmm...
Well, I just bought Frost Light and Saltwater Souls bc those looked Fantastic! I'm currently buddy reading The outsiders by S.E. Hinton and enjoying it so far. I have North is the Night by Emily Rath preordered which is based on Finnish folklore, which comes out in a few days.
So I just started Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell two weeks ago… and yes, it feels like a dense classic, it’s not a leisure read so far😅 I got as far as the missing finger if the helps.
I'll definitely be checking out the jewelry, I don't wear any but would love to! Also, I'm thinking of reading Nicholas Nicoby with you. I'm so tired and frustrated with the contemporary books I've been reading so maybe a classic will do the truck. Thank you!
I really need to start the Recorder series next year. I think I've put it off long enough 😅 I'm curious to hear your thoughts on I Think I Was Murdered. I've never read anything by Colleen Coble and this one sounds really interesting.
I was disappointed by I think I was murdered. It felt like they rushed it to publication. Coble and Aker have another book that is great- not related to this one.

❤ your channel. You always find the most interesting books. Ones that I don’t come across but always add to TBR.
Aww, I'm glad to hear that!

I also noted that many Agatha Christie’s novels have different titles depending on the publishers. I like the UK version - more catchy.
Ooh that snow white retelling sounds so good!!
Nicholas nickleby is one of my favorites!!!

Ooh, that makes me more excited to read both of these!
The Six of Crows duology is one of my very favorites. ❤ I named one of my ereaders "Inej" after a character in the books.
I can't wait to finally read the book!
I cannot imagine snow in May. We barely get snow every other year! 😂😂
It's not often and it's definitely not wanted then!
Will you be making the Read Your Bookshelf challenge in Storygraph this year? If not, I'm happy to set it up for anyone interested!
I will be! I'm hoping to start my StoryGraph account this week or next!

Yay, always glad to hear someone read and enjoyed a Dickens when I'm heading into it!

Oh I miss snow!
It’s raining here 😊

I've heard so many good things about The Frozen River! I've been on the library waiting list for that one forever already!
Lord Edgware Dies is one of my favourites.
Me too

I need to read Man Who Was Thursday. My husband says it's the Chesterton I'm most likely to enjoy. 😂

Fyi...i temp dnf'd JS & MN too. 😅 no desire to pick it up based on what I read so far.😅
That's not helping my motivation! 😊 If I don't finish it this winter I'll get rid of it.
