E.A.Poe was a genious. This is a remarkable adaptation. The acting, the atmosphare is just perfect. The depression, the frustration and the unavoidability of the struggles of everyday life which can sometimes turn into fear, madness and horror. It' s all in it. But Poe's short stories and novels must also be read guys......not only watched.......nothing compares to that experience......how you feel every wibe of his stories under your skin.
I just came because of school, but it’s one of the first assigned stories I’ve read for school that I’m actually interested in and went off reading it on my own. This was incredibly done, each moment was perfect. Definitely will be going back to this amazing piece of work ^^
You guys are so lucky you get assigned this ! Being from a non English speaking country it took me sometime to discover this genius and I didn't even get the chance to talk about his work with anyone cz no one knows him XD , tho great adaptation I loved every detail ❤️
I am not here for a school assignment. I am approaching sixty and I am here for the story telling. This is a magnificent interpretation of the classic.
I just got back from the Edgar Allen Poe museum in Richmond while wearing my Poe shirt! I also got a mother-daughter tattoo with my mom yesterday that was one of his quotes: "To die laughing must be the most glorious of all glorious deaths."
I'm here because we were reading this story in class today and we were watching this movie tommorow, I'm not going to be there to watch the movie so I'm watching it now (Groesbeck Middle School :)
The gestures of the narrator made me feel particularly bad because the relationship between father and son seemed prosperous until it was corrupted by that terrible illness, which took the narrator as a puppet and the father as the victim.
I went to this play at the Three Little Bakers playhouse in Wilmington.... Lets just say this is how I discovered. Him.... Always 💘 his creations ....so deep and truthful.... Twisted. Kinda 😆... Keeps you on you wanting more... LOVE IT!!!!
This is the first reading I’ve heard that matched my interpretation of his outward display of rationality towards the beginning, I love it! I feel like a lot of interpretations have him sound apparently insane from the very beginning
I read this in junior high, many eons ago, and we didn't have the option of watching a TH-cam video. No problem for me tho....I love to read. I don't remember it being an assignment though, I remember checking out several of Poe's short stories because they intrigued me.
What I find funny is that if the narrator had just ben more upfront with his master, they could have come up with a solution other than murder and the narrator wouldn't be in an asylum.
We read Pakistani literature and this is our Assignment and also presentation And Know about the adgar Ellen Poe writing style My professor suggested us to watch this movie and writes your comment on this movie
I see a lot of people here for a school assignment, while im over here watching this because I enjoy the tale...

Yes!! This does not show how incredibly slow he opened the door and cast the light on the eye! A major terrifying part of the story!
@@bonniemoerdyk9809fr when he opens it slowly it shows how dedicated and scarily obsessed he is with the eye
😅@@bonniemoerdyk9809

@@mel4nch0lywe are so lucky
I'm in 8th grade and my teacher assigned this to the class. Most kids find this boring, but I tend to like it alot.
Bro you from NES?
My teacher assigned me this, and at first I thought it would be rather boring. But the more I watched it the more I was sucked into the story.❤
Really love how calm he appears, but how very unhinged he can portray himself through his eyes.
I am not here for a school assignment. I am approaching sixty and I am here for the story telling. This is a magnificent interpretation of the classic.

pretty darn awesome, one of my favorite poe stories
I'm 30 and loving these old Poe movies. You all should watch the Oval Portrait. Watched it before i started watching this one. Its a really good movie
I really like the clock theme that plays in the background it sounds so suspenseful and it the coolest theme i had heard
Classic and phenomenal... Timeless..
This is just so beautiful. It’s my favourite EAP story and seeing how this movie made it perfectly makes me happy
Not even here for school. I just really enjoy these vids, it’s done so well. Deserves millions of views.
Anyone else here because of being an Edgar Allen Poe fan?
Definitely
Sadly I see that most of viewers are because teacher told them to.
Yep
i am here for school never heard of that guy till now
I just got back from the Edgar Allen Poe museum in Richmond while wearing my Poe shirt!

I read the book yesterday and I wasn't going to school the next day to watch the movie so I'm watching it right now too 😂😂😂
Me too
My teacher read us this story a couple months ago and it came to my head
The gestures of the narrator made me feel particularly bad because the relationship between father and son seemed prosperous until it was corrupted by that terrible illness, which took the narrator as a puppet and the father as the victim.
He said it himself, “master”. It’s not a father and son relationship. It’s a master and sevrant one
Wow! This was really well done. Bravo!
I went to this play at the Three Little Bakers playhouse in Wilmington.... Lets just say this is how I discovered. Him.... Always 💘 his creations ....so deep and truthful.... Twisted. Kinda 😆... Keeps you on you wanting more... LOVE IT!!!!
Anyon else here for school? I enjoy E.A.Poe and I like the fact my teacher is "forcing" us to watch this and read the story.
10:52 this man's shadow lagged
Yeah I too saw it and was like puzzled whether the director edited it to be so.. His head turns late in the shadow..
Well done.
I love Poe.
Greetings from Germany!
Me here a junior watching this because I actually enjoy Edgar Allan Poe's work
This is the first reading I’ve heard that matched my interpretation of his outward display of rationality towards the beginning, I love it! I feel like a lot of interpretations have him sound apparently insane from the very beginning
The story is just wonderful! A spooky, satisfying talejust
Why didn't the old man talk and this is better than any other ones I watched
He did talk, but he was also grieving and he felt alone
Why did I just discover this now????
That's what I was just thinking.
Me too!!
me too!!!
BEAUTIFUL
TERRIFYING
Who was looking for a read aloud and found this
Absolute masterpiece
Very cool video enjoyed every minute of it. 🙂👍😃
I read this in junior high, many eons ago, and we didn't have the option of watching a TH-cam video. No problem for me tho....I love to read. I don't remember it being an assignment though, I remember checking out several of Poe's short stories because they intrigued me.

8th grade for me because I enjoyed this is ELA class and the assignments I was so interested in this video
I'm just here for the Poe, love the way he leaves his dialect for everyone else's individualized interpretation
Phenomenal story, and the video keeps me intrigued thank you
What I find funny is that if the narrator had just ben more upfront with his master, they could have come up with a solution other than murder and the narrator wouldn't be in an asylum.
Hey your eye is really ugly, so I'm gonna quit my job.
The whole point is that he is mad and twisted
Leopin the narrator was hanged
I he just woulda got that peeper fixed everything would have been kool and the gang!
13:42
Narrator: "He was stone dead"
The Old Man: *iNhALeS*
This was a pretty great short film
Poe was sick, but still had great stories
Great story
my man edgar had the audacity to finish a poem with a prayer and not finish it 🤠
So many people are here bc of school, I am too but damn 💀
Im a goth and after finding out this is what we need to watch for an assignment, I screamed in excitement
I DID IT! I TOOK THE BOOTS! THEY’RE HERE! UNDER THE FLOORBOARDS!
perhaps a narrow audience, but hi Cinematic Adaptation gang
Lol😂
Shades of "The Pit and the Pendulum" at the start. :)
What painting was at 17:15??
This is so good!
We read Pakistani literature and this is our Assignment and also presentation

I have this for a test, so I’m watching this while doing the test on TH-cam shhh lol 😂❤
The three of them and the Butt-ler enter the masters chambers, “ You say your master is away, but it smells like old man in here…”
One my fave bedtime stories as a kid
And now I must say
dear god.
An experience

Missing my year 8 drama class rn 💔 we all were given different scenes from this to perform but oh boy was it good
This is great
Some creative license taken but I enjoy it! Do more EAP!
that was great!
That was deep.
I can't find any words for this but now I see what this is talking about
That took a dark turn at the end..
Kind of to be expected in an Edgar Allan Poe story, isn't it?
Amazing !!!!..
I remember this from my 7th grade teacher Mrs. Velez
intersting choreography
We produced a reading of the telltale heart earlier this year! We'd love to get your feedback on itt @
My best friend watched this last year and was terrified so here I am watching it now
Excellent well put together.
A sense of impending doom from your own actions will drive you mad. Be good.
The Great Work...
so good
Mga Grade 9 dito kasi may ganyang lesson sa English 9. Hello guys 👋👋 hahahahah
Yeh! This is pretty well done. Awesome.
That was incredible
I was in 6th grade when I first watched this in class.
Am I the only 35-year-old adult that actually likes Edgar Allan Poe here?? because all I see is a bunch of kids
I'm 40 and I love Edgar Allan Poe
