Nigeria, the heartbeat of Africa. Restricting filming at airports isn't only about covering up corruption and originally started as a security measure stemming from the raid at Entebbe airport hostage situation in 1976. Perhaps it's now unnecessary but that's one explanation. The Nigerian government also recently signed an MOU with Boeing, so let's see if that helps matters in the near future.
In Nigeria in general, filming is poorly tolerated, compared to other parts of the world. It's not even the airports. Just in Nigeria in general. In most parts of the world, this is not the case. You can go to any random city and film just about anywhere.

It seems they don't like airport filming in Africa. I flew to Zambia from the UK in the late 80s and sat beside a lovely woman who worked in the Nigerian Embassy in Beijing. I was taking her photograph in the airport lounge at her request, when suddenly I felt a hand on my shoulder. It was security guard holding a gun telling me photography wasn't allowed.
a lot of them see it a s a security risk. the more as quite often airports share there space with there military air side. It's not clear what you are getting of film. You might be taking a picture of the lady however that could have been a decoy as you are more aiming at what is behind the lady. The opposite might also happen if you do ask for permittion and that is granted they might show you about everything. As then they or at least those that need to will know what and how. As they might still be very proud in showing there work.

@@17cmmittlererminenwerfer81 Let's start with the first thing you're wrong on.. 1. until recently I've worked 24/7 to pay bills, not travel(for pleasure, I travel for work). So I've not had the luxury of flying on a whim to where my heart takes me 2. I'm now lucky enough to no longer work 24/7 to pay bills, so have started planning on travelling to places my heart takes me, rather than the stereotypical holiday destinations of a European, first of which is India later this year, with several African countries penciled in for end of next year, one of which being Nigeria Apology accepted
@@daPalma Abuja is a wonderful, safe destination to visit year-round, though it’s especially lush and green in the middle of the year. By November, the city enters the drier season, with some plants turning brown and the harmattan winds bringing dry air, but the city retains its beauty even then. Compared to Lagos, Abuja is quieter and makes for an excellent choice for a first-time visit. Just exercise the same caution you would in any other city around the world-Abuja is quite safe and well-organized. To familiarize yourself with the city’s highlights, I recommend watching plenty of Abuja videos on TH-cam before your trip.

Yeah for most government institutions it’s not allowed
a lot of them see it a s a security risk. the more as quite often airports share there space with there military air side.
I'm feeling proud as a Nigerian and also that my wife is from Akwaibom 🤭. I haven't used Ibom Air before, but my wife has used them a couple of times and she says it's the best local airline in Nigeria. I plan to use it too when I visit Nigeria to fly within states 😊 #ProudNigerian #AkwaIbom #IbomAir #BestLocalAirline
Hi Sam, welcome to my country i hope u had a wonderful time
Glad to have you experience the Nigerian aviation sector Sam. We hope things turn around for goof someday
Thanks, for sharing your wonderful expeditions!
Thank You Sam for promoting the Nigerian commercial aviation and also highlighting some major problems currently impeding the growth of the industry.
That being said, i am super excited watching with pride from the UK.
You should also fly the Air Peace sometimes sooooooon.
Thank You Sam! Thank You Ibom Air!!!!!!
Sam you finally made it to Nigeria, thanks so much and have a great stay
I absolutely love the A220! Maybe my favorite commercial aircraft in production. Cool that you went to Nigeria.
Welcome to Nigeria Sam. Have a pleasant visit.
The disembarkation process just made my day. Every airline needs to implement this change.
Welcome to Nigeria Sam
Hope you enjoyed your stay.
Thanks for another great video Sam!! Enjoyed scenery and nice interviews you had. Now, I really want to visit Nigeria and other parts of Africa! Great job Sam and your crew!!

@@hidanlearnexactly because we too experienced that 😂😂
Sam chui in Nigeria? I can’t believe it. I’ve been following your channel for years and I’m an aviation enthusiast just like you. I hope to fly round the world one day, especially in the airbus a380..
Sam Chui, welcome to Lagos, Nigeria.
Thanks Sam. You lifted my confidence on Nigeria's local airline
I've always wanted to go to Nigeria! #bucketlist
No you didn't. If you did, you'd have already done it, and you'd be telling us how wonderful it was.
Where your money goes, your heart has already blazed the path. And that path leads in other directions for you, not towards Nigeria.
@@17cmmittlererminenwerfer81 Let's start with the first thing you're wrong on..
1. until recently I've worked 24/7 to pay bills, not travel(for pleasure, I travel for work). So I've not had the luxury of flying on a whim to where my heart takes me
2. I'm now lucky enough to no longer work 24/7 to pay bills, so have started planning on travelling to places my heart takes me, rather than the stereotypical holiday destinations of a European, first of which is India later this year, with several African countries penciled in for end of next year, one of which being Nigeria
Apology accepted
You are welcome to visit Nigeria...make sure you visit Abuja...its a great city to start your visit to Nigeria....
@@interestingthingstoknow8975 Thank you - I'm thinking of visiting around November next year, is that a good time of year?
Finally the video am waiting for is out 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤ thanks very Sam.
