I for one love Guyanese cuisine. Especially chicken 🐔 curry. I’m going to start using the all purpose flour while cleaning the chicken etc. Thanks for sharing your spin of making chicken curry Guyanese style 👍🏾
Wow Grammy really outdid herself with this chicken curry. I admire how she emphasized the importance of preparing the meat properly too. Please feature her in more videos!! :)
Thanks for the recipe, will try it sometime! We lived in Suriname in the 80s and we had a Guyanese friend that made us roti with curry chicken once in a while. I miss it so much!
Hey Matthew, I just encounter your channel today. I use your roti recipe and it came out really nice for my first try. Thanks I will keep following. Belize!
Wow very nice and delicious dish..we srilankans use lots of chilli powder which is not good for the health..really awesome Guyanese curry chicken 👌mouthwatering..please release more videos thanks 👍🙏
I get the lemon and water wash. The flour not so much but will try it. I’ve cooked a lot of chicken and have never experienced rank. What is that exactly in your own words.
Wow I just saw this curry recipe. Your grammie did a delicious curry. Can you tell me the curry powder she used, but tell grammie not to use so much oil it’s not good for her heart 🥰
Thank you for watching and enjoying. It is Lalahs curry powder in the red can. And as for the oil we usually skim it as the curry is cooking. But you really need a good amount of oil to fry up the spices and have the curry cook well
I haven't had this in almost a year. I don't cook curry in my condo because it's a luxury condo and I don't want to lower the resale value. I wait until I visit Toronto where my family is and get my mom to cook curry. 😂 Edit: In Trinidad the culantro is traditional. I don't know anyone who doesn't put it in. We marinate the chicken with it and put it in the curry as well.
Such a tasty chicken curry.Nice recipe👌👍
Thanks!

@@matthewsguyanesecooking4601 thank you for responding
👍👍👍👍
Hi handsome thank you 😊 much love ❤️
You don't season the chicken before cooking??
There is absolutely no need to season the chicken before hand. Especially if it is fresh
👍❤
Omg I did not know that some people use flour to clean meat. I have a gluten allergy 😭
That’s a lot of garlic
That’s what makes a good curry!

You can simmer vinegar and water while you are cooking, this get rid of food scent. Also do this once a week as well.
@@carolinehosein7983 This! I make Korean kimchi all the time and it has a VERY strong scent. Vinegar gets rid of the scent!
