I used to be a JW. I can’t tell you how long I had been against religion after learning I had been lied to my whole life. I walked 10 years as agnostic. This ministry is helping me to Jesus. I struggle but I think that’s my indoctrination. I can’t tell you how hungry I am for spiritual food. I am literally binging on the Bible. Ppl think I’m listening to music in my ear buds. I’m actually listening to the Bible. I have a long way to go and don’t feel worthy of gods love but in my heart... I feel his love for me.

@@arminius504 I haven’t experienced anything like that, and I don’t look for experiences. But I have know quite a few Charismatics, and if they’re not truly saved--Idk who could be? They live for Jesus, love him, etc. I don’t agree with them on everything, but having been in mostly cessationist circles…I’ve found the fruit of the spirit mostly in the Charismatics. Sure some of them didn’t have theology perfect, but man did they love. It’s from their example that I came to faith, and how I want to be.
Funny enough, I used to listen to Calvinists and agreed on Cessationism…I was also a false convert.
Calvinists are Christians, but I think just like any Christian group--there’s truth neglected for tradition, there’s celebrities (for every side) and though the theology is different, their celebrities really aren’t (both filled with pride, their own Study Bibles named after them, being the arbiter of truth (really there’s no difference between touch not the Lord’s anointed and being called a heretic for questioning someone--I’ve experienced both), and really they’re not so different. One side just over emphasizes love (almost to the point of negating sin) and the other over emphasizes wrath (almost to the point of negating God’s great love).
Everything needs balance. I’m open to the gifts, because of scripture. Not experience. But I don’t speak in tongues or anything, nor do I seek it.
It kind of breaks my heart to see Cessationists treat charismatics with such disdain and broad brushing. I used to do the same thing, but it was charismatics that I saw Jesus working.

I'm amazed at how angry some of the commenters seem on these videos. Some even act like eschatology is an issue of salvation. Many true Christians have differing views on this topic, and that is ok. It is a difficult topic. Keep praying and studying. Thank God that we don't have to be good at keeping the law or interpreting the scriptures to be saved. We all probably get something wrong, and we definitely all sin.

I can see how confusing this teaching is for those who have always been brought up to think the Great Tribulation is future; and they think the rapture is coming - and they put America in Revelation and that’s just wrong.....
We *must* be willing to let go of all our presuppositions and be Bereans; searching the scriptures and preparing to be wrong; get out of our comfort zones..
The most honest way of reading these scriptures is by using the first rule of hermeneutics audience relevance.... It brings the scriptures alive, we see the victory of King Jesus - He is already ruling... We must stop inserting ourselves into Revelation, John’s Olivet Discourse and stop thinking the word “coming” means His physical return...
It’s a coming in judgement and Jesus Christ did come in judgement in 70AD exactly when He said He would...(40 years being a biblical generation).. God in His mercy left it until the last minute..

When I was a hard core atheist and reading the bible in order to criticize and debate against it. I read the olivet discourse as obviously meaning their time. The condemnation of the Jewish priests and the temple who had rejected God.
Just thought it was interesting and backs up what Pastor Durbin is saying. You only read into it a future meaning when you want it to be or when it's been taught to you. Otherwise it's fairly clear Jesus was speaking of the first century.

Please demonstrate from Dr. MacArthur's book how his explanations (and that of Robert L. Thomas) of Revelation necessitates that no one is in heaven right now.
      You said: *"research this stuff..."*
I have. I am a Bible teacher in my church, I have been a missionary both in this country and over seas, and I have been studying the Bible in both English and Greek for about 30 years now. Because I have come to a different conclusion from the Bible than you, that somehow means that I haven't researched this? That is a rather rude assertion. Eschatology is an area where even the prophets did not fully understand what they wrote until their fulfillment was seen, so if the prophets didn't fully get it at times, it is certainly an area where we can have some disagreement.
You said: *"Christ is HERE NOW"*
In what sense? As I have said elsewhere in this comments section, in Luke 19:11, the Apostles supposed that the kingdom of God was going to appear immediately - is this your summation as well? While the kingdom of God certainly is now manifest in the rule of God in men's hearts, the earthly, visible kingdom of God is yet for a future time and fulfillment (Revelation 20:1-6). So, in what sense do you mean that Christ is "HERE NOW?"

    • @moezura545
      @moezura545 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@lawrencestanley8989 I'm not going to read MacArthur's book. I don't have to. I've seen plenty of his sermons...
Read Hebrews: the tabernacle was a type of the real world - there was a veil between "earth" and "heaven" that no one could cross until the atonement was complete - that's why Jesus said "NO MAN COMES TO THE FATHER BUT BY ME"...
Hebrews 9:8 says that the way to the true most holy place (heaven) is not open while the first tabernacle still had covenental standing... that means no one could go to heaven while the Torah was still in effect...
On the day of Pentecost Peter said "where is the patriarch David?"; "he is NOT ASCENDED to heaven"... (Acts 2:29-34); Jesus told Nicodemus that NO ONE had ascended to heaven except HIM, who came from heaven (John 3:13)... at the END of revelation, AFTER Christ comes, Sheol/Hades/Hell is EMPTIED OUT (Revelation 20:13), and everyone is judged according to their works THEN the new heaven and earth come in Revelation 21... NO ONE went to heaven until AFTER CHRIST CAME and established His Kingdom... so therefore, IF Christ has not yet come, then Sheol has not been emptied and NO ONE has gone to heaven...
Furthermore, you stated that even the prophets didn't understand what they wrote - they understood what they were writing about - the salvation that was to come - but what they wrote was not FOR themselves or their time, but it was written FOR the saints of the first century because that's when those things were unfolding - see 1 Peter 1:10-12... Peter told his audience that those prophecies were written FOR THEM... and furthermore, Daniel was told to "seal up" the scroll of his vision until the time of the end (Daniel 12:4); whereas the apostle John was told to NOT SEAL UP the scroll of his prophecy (Revelation 22:10) for the time was AT HAND...
as I said, the information is there, you just have to read it and accept it instead of devising explanations and doing hermeneutical gymnastics to force the text to say what you want it to say...
there is no PHYSICAL kingdom - Christ's Kingdom is SPIRITUAL - He told the scribes and Pharisees that the Kingdom of Heaven does NOT COME WITH OBSERVATION (Luke 17:20) - the Greek there means "occular evidence" meaning it is something that CANNOT BE SEEN...
you mentioned a "rude assertion"... well, I find it exceedingly offensive that people don't take Jesus at His word - they say that He doesn't really mean what He says and that the only way to understand what He said is to add thousands of years to statements and events that He Himself said were "AT HAND"... He told His disciples and others that THEY would see things and apparently you take the "you" that Jesus used to mean YOU yourself and people alive now... the YOU He used was directed at His disciples or whomever He was talking to at the time...
preterism is correct - every other eschatological doctrine is a lie... the answers are in the Bible, you just have to rightly divide the word of truth instead of ham fisting it... sorry if you think I'm being rude, but I don't play nice when it comes to people mishandling the veracity of Christ and His statements...

You said: *"the information is there, you just have to read it and accept it instead of devising explanations and doing hermeneutical gymnastics to force the text to say what you want it to say..."*
I have no argument here, but when you said "I find it exceedingly offensive that people don't take Jesus at His word," your assertion is that I haven't. So, demonstrate where I haven't, otherwise you are just making ungrounded assertions. All that I have done was to ask where dispensationalism is in error, and you have failed to do so, all that you have done was to give one side of the story, without demonstrating where the other side has gone astray, and you have continuously done so in a very crass manner - you argue like a Muslim wanting to shut down critics; you do not argue as a Christian out to make disciples or to correct brothers.
You said: *"and apparently you take the "you" that Jesus used to mean YOU yourself and people alive now..."*
Where have I done this??? I have never once associated myself with dispensationalism - I am just LOOKING for a proper definition of it, but I have yet to find one, and God knows that YOU have gone out of your way not to be helpful. I have read MacArthur and Thomas and I have asked specifically where they went wrong in their exegesis of Revelation, and all that you have come back with is that you refuse to read their material. You argue like a kindergartener looking to pick a fight on the playground; is THIS how you approach those outside the faith? Is THIS how Jesus has told you to act towards those whom you feel are in error?
You said: *"but I don't play nice when it comes to people mishandling the veracity of Christ and His statements..."*
Then you have no business pretending to speak for Him, for others will look at you, supposing to be a representative of God, and if THAT is how God teaches His own to act towards others, then they will want nothing to do with Him. You sir should be ashamed.

When I picture the ark floating away, I see all those that missed the boat "left behind" and drown. They weren't taken away but left to their doom and destruction. Noah and his family were the ones to be taken to safety, "to a high place". When Jesus returns, he will take me to a high place which he has prepared for me.

I want to find a church but I want to find one that preaches as you do, from the BIBLE even when it hurts to hear. I'm new to Apoligia videos but I heard you say 'reformed church' is that what Apologia is? I don't mean to seem ignorant but how do I search for that in my area, meaning do they list the church as that. I've not heard that term before. Thank you again

We have discovered so much false teaching in our years of "christian" faith. We have been involved in Lutheran and Nazarene church organizations. We have read and studied the bible regularly but without enlightenment because of our isogegis assumptions. We have so many false teachings and spirit of the age gospel beliefs now to overcome. The teaching of Apologia is so appreciated as a trusted source for exegesis examination of the scripture. Thank you for making the truth available through the online resources and many programs. God is blessing this to us.

We error because we do not read all three chapters ( Matthew 24 , Mark 13 , and Luke 21 ) to get the proper meaning of what was being said . Remember , the chapters were based on the statement made by Jesus Christ as the disciples were showing him the temple in Matthew 24 verse 2 , " See ye all these things ? verily I say unto you , There shall not be left here one stone upon another , that shall not be thrown down ". From this statement comes the three questions asked by the disciples in Matthew 24 verse 3 , " Tell us , when shall these things be ? and what shall be the sign of thy coming , and the end of the world " ? Jesus answered all three questions , and the disciples recorded all three questions in the manner in which they were asked and answered by Jesus . The first question was ( 1 ) when shall these things be , as referring to the destruction of the temple , ( 2 ) what shall be the sign of thy coming , as pertaining to his return to setup his kingdom on this earth for 1000 years and to restore Israel as a nation , and ( 3 ) and the end of the world , as referring to destruction of the current heaven and earth , and the creation of new heaven and earth , white throne judgment , and the beginning of the Father's kingdom . Now we must read the gospels to find out when these three questions were answered . The key to the first questions is Matthew 24 verses 14 and 15 ; The apostle Paul stated that the gospel was preached in all the world for a witness in ( Romans 1;5,8 ; Romans 10;17-18 ; Colossians 1;5-6,23 ) , and Matthew 24 verse 15 , it talks about the abomination of desolation spoken of Daniel the prophet , stand in the holy place ( Daniel 9;26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off , but not for himself ; and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary ; and the end thereof shall be with a flood , and unto the end of the war desolations are determined ) . The first question was answered when the temple was destructed in 70 A.D. , by General Titus of the Roman armies . The second question was , " What shall be the sign of thy coming " ? and this was answered in Matthew 24;27-31 , Mark 13:24-27 , and Luke 21:25-28 . The third question was, " And the end of the world , and this was answered in Matthew 24;32-36 , Mark 13;28-33 , and Luke 21;29-33 . The great tribulation is about the tribulation of the nation of Israel , not so much about the world ; God only know the one's he has made a covenant with or the one's grafted into the covenant by keeping his commandments , now through the faith of his Son Jesus Christ . The great tribulation begin with the destruction of the temple , Jerusalem , and the desolation of the covenant people ( Israel ) . This desolation will continue until the Messiah returns to setup his kingdom and return the children of Israel back to the land . When he say no man knoweth the day or hour , not the angels of heaven , but the Father only , he is talking about the end of the world and the beginning of the Father's kingdom . When he states that this generation shall nor pass , till all these things be fulfilled , he was talking about the generation of the sons of man , becoming the generation of the Sons of God . Shalom !

When interpreting scripture, we don't need ancient historians or any other interpretation of men. We only need the *Interpreter* (1 Cor 2:13). The disciples ask Jesus about the _End of the Age_ in Matt 24:3. So what do they mean by age? That definition can be found here -> Matt 13:37-42. _Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age. The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom _*_all_*_ _*_things_*_ that offend, and those who practice lawlessness_ (Matt 13:40-41). The end of the age is the harvest of the vine (Rev 14:14-16). Do you see things that offend today? Did you miss the resurrection? No, why? Because _for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition_ (2 Thess 2:3) . Paul's speaking to a church here. Then obviously 70AD isn't the fulfillment of everything written in Matt 24.

I agree with Lauren that the futurist, often dispensational, premillenialist view has become so much the standard in popular Christianity these days that it's very hard to wrap our heads around a different view. But I would like to ask this about your question; if God brought judgement on a wicked apostate group of people in 70 A.D. doesn't it seem right that He would be bringing judgement again against wicked apostate people? I've learned through Scripture that God's judgement is covenantal and the outpouring of that judgement often times look very similar.

@@stephentaylor5482 I agree with you. The church was judged in the trumpets for embracing heresies and errors and losing their first love towards Jesus then in the 5th trumpet God gave them over to their sin by giving them the pope to rule over them with an iron fist all through the DarkAges, no bibles and no gospel. That is the period known as the 1260 years, 42 months or time times and half a time and known as the great tribulation. Also the time of the 2 witnesses and 144,000....real Christians who testified of Jesus Christ, the gospel, persecuted and then came by the power of God the Protestant Reformation which restored the gospel, gave the bible to the people in their own language and identified the papacy as the anti-christ [ all Christians knew this for centuries]. We started to be lied to and indoctrinated by the 1820's by Darby and Irving who spread Futurism [authored by jesuits] and by Scofield who published it in his study bibles. This runs through the scope of history!!! The seminaries started indoctrinating the pastors in futurism too. It's a mess. Lots of this is in 2 Thess2 also.
The vials are now judging the anti-christ .....he has lost much power since the height of his power in the dark ages, even tho he still has much power in the nations, over 200 concordats with nations. It is important to study history of Protestant Reformation, very helpful.

Let me preface by saying you guys inspire me with your pro-life work and speaking out against evil in society. A pro-life elderly woman was attacked and someone broke her femur a couple weeks ago. The perpetrator was completely acquitted! That's insane. I say that to say that your eschatological views of the kingdom obviously inform your work. I'm not convinced that other people with different eschatological views would be any less effective though. One way to convince someone is not to build a straw man and infer that everyone who has a different view on eschatology than you is a Harold Camping, predicting exact dates. While your views may be interesting - they are presented as "the truth". That's tough. Right away from the title you dismiss all other views and don't consider them. Jesus will reign, and whether a 7 year tribulation comes before that is a secondary issue although I've developed my theology on that in seminary and from reading the Word. Sorry man, if I ever have an a-mill or post-mill view it probably won't be because of this channel but from conversations with open-minded friends, much the same way I switched from pre-trib to post-trib. That being said, bless you and your ministry.

At 1:14:54 Jeff makes the assumption, as most do, that "this generation" means "the generation to whom Jesus is talking to." That is incorrect and has launched a thousand false eschatological ships. Jesus is describing the generation of evil that began with Cain and continues to this day. It is headed by Satan who is this generation's father. The other generation is a godly generation comprised of those like Seth, a generation of the redeemed that continues unbroken to this day. "To what then will I liken the people of this generation?" (Luke 7:31), Jesus is not talking only about the Pharisees and lawyers with evil hearts of His day, but the generation that they belong as disciples of Satan. Thus "Wisdom is justified by all her children" (Luk 7:35), meaning, look at the offspring of Satan and the offspring of Christ, two generations and discern their spiritual condition by their opposition to Christ's teaching.
The point here is, "this generation will not pass away until all these things are accomplished" (Mat 24:34) is not pointing to AD70, it is pointing to "the sign of the Son of Man" and the last trumpet that "will gather together His chosen ones from the four winds" (Mat 24:31). Jesus is saying that one day "Heaven and earth will pass away" (vs 35) at the end of the age, but the evil generation will continue in opposition to Christ right until Judgment is dispensed at the end of the age, and they will not escape it.
Theologians can quote Josephus and try and force AD70 as the destruction of the temple and the "abomination of desolation" the Roman's sacrificing a pig in the sanctuary, and other nonsense, but while this fiction brings a thrill to the secular mind, it is not thinking the thoughts of God, for His spiritual concerns are not your secular concerns. The Temple that is thrown down is not Herod's temple buildings, but Christ Himself, who was the true antitype of the Temple that must be razed and rebuilt under a New Covenant, as a stronger covenant in His blood. The disciples looked at the temple stones without spiritual understanding while Jesus (having the mind of God) saw what they represented. Likewise, when Jesus said "beware the yeast of the Pharisees and the yeast of Herod" (Mar 8:15) the secular-minded disciples said, "It's because we have no bread." So, I say the same as Jesus, "Don't you perceive yet, neither understand? Having eyes, don't you see? Having ears, don't you hear? Don't you remember? (Mar 8:18). The Bible is a spiritual book about things important to God. After Jesus' resurrection, the Jerusalem temple had no import, neither was it the "holy place." If you possess the spirit of Christ, stop thinking man's thoughts and be humble enough to let God speak. Then the Bible will reveal the truths that God intends, instead of chasing the wild imaginings of men and depending on Josephus for validation. "Do you understand, yet? (Mar 8:21).

It’s a Preterist school view. Does not mean it’s 100% correct. The great tribulation will humble the Jews and they will look up to Jesus Christ whom they once rejected. Zechariah 8:7-8
    Thus saith the Lord of hosts;
Behold, I will save my people from the east country,
    and from the west country;
And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem:
and they shall be my people, and I will be their God,
in truth and in righteousness. Zechariah 12:10-11
And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
the spirit of grace and of supplications:
and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced,
and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son,
and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem,
as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon.

Not sure if it has been talked about yet (don't have time at the moment to go through the comments), but Mr Durbin undermines his own argument at 42:00 when he starts talking about the ark. He argues (correctly) that real events become symbols to us that take on meaning beyond the immediate context, then uses the ark to illustrate his point, drawing a connection (again, that I agree with) between the ark and Jesus, demonstrating how a past reality can mirror a future reality. In doing so, he shows that while Matthew 24 may have an immediate context for the original disciples, it can at the same time mirror a future reality. Where Noah's ark was a dim representation of the Ark to come -- every bit as real, but represented in its full capacity in Christ -- so it may be that the destruction of Jerusalem in 70AD may well be a dim representation of a future tribulation -- every bit as real, but represented in full -- at the end of the physical world.

@@chrisflux57 traditionally, a footstool is not a foundation without which you "cannot" stand, but rather a place where you REST your feet when you CHOOSE not to stand. For reference...
1 Chronicles 28:2 KJV - Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: As for me, I had in mine heart to build an house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and for the footstool of our God, and had made ready for the building.
Note that God existed before the Temple was built. The Temple didn't add to God's power, and His power was not diminished when it was destroyed (multiple times). Footstools have nothing to do with foundations.

Pastor Jeff, I love you as a brother in Christ. I'm a PLNU alum (many years ago) so I also appreciate the so-cal. My best friends are pastors there and have your same beliefs, even though I'm constantly poking holes in them--friendly of course;). Let me ask you: if the church is not Israel then is it POSSIBLE, even 1% chance that in Rev. 3:9 Jesus himself is referring to replacement theology (or supercession or whatever term is used now) as the "synagogue of Satan?" The way I see it, there are only 3 options here: 1) He's referring to Jews who are no longer Jews because church replaced them. 2) A group of gentiles who were being fake jews. 3) Or He is addressing something in the church, like a doctrine perhaps? Hmm..well it is a letter to the church so I'm guessing it's either option 1 or 3, so now there are only two options. Then you ask, why did Jesus, in the grand finale book of the Bible, decide it was so important to have John deliver a couple sentences to the church only to tell them, "hey, you see those Jews over there? Yeah, those decendents of Abraham over there? Yeah, they're not Jews, they lie." I'd be like, what? Jews aren't Jews? Then who are the Jews? Plus, this is a letter to the church right? So Jesus is telling believers who already broke away from Judaism and converted to Christianity that Jews aren't Jews? What? Why? OR, is there even a %1 chance here Jesus is addressing a belief in the church which states they (the church) are Jews but are not? Hypothetically speaking, if He was addressing a doctrine, what doctrine could that be? All I know is that if I believed I replaced Israel, I'd be testing the snot out of it to make certain Jesus wasn't referring to my belief. But I don't believe that doctrine. So based on your view or my view, I don't need to worry. But your view? If it's correct then you're good. But if it's not correct then this could be what Jesus referred to as satanic. See what I'm getting at here? You only have risk, I don't. You say church is "spiritual Israel" (which is weird and sort of like a fetus isn't a human type of argument). I say we're separate. If I'm wrong then based on Rev. 3-9, then what will God say when I tell Him the church is not isreal? He would say nope you are israel. But you're leading your flock to say, "God, we the church have replaced Israel (ie we are Jews)". Now based on Rev. 3-9, if you're wrong then what would He say? He says you are a synagogue of Satan. Why take that risk? Isn't it logical? I'm free to be right or wrong, there's no risk and all reward of blessings if I bless Israel. Your position is all risk and NO reward for if you're right, who cares? But if you're wrong you're running the risk of being a synagogue of Satan. I hear you use logic and philosophy all the time when you witness to folks, can't you see that here? Would the grace of God really want us to fall into a snare like that? A belief that offers all risk and no reward?

There is a relatively simple answer to those who hold to the false doctrine of Preterism. The word “generation” as in “This generation shall not pass until all these things are fulfilled” (Matt. 24:34) can mean and does mean the moral condition of the people. It is clear that the physical generation at the time of Jesus Christ was a kind of culmination of evil in that they had the oracles of God that set out the coming of their Messiah, yet they were a “wicked and adulterous generation”(Matt. 16:4) in rejection of His ministry and Person. When the Lord speaks of them as a “generation of vipers” He is speaking of their moral origin as also in John 8:44. Although there was a specific time in which man’s rejection of God was so clearly exposed, yet it is true of all of mankind morally. Until we are born again, we are all children of the devil and are easily influenced and manipulated by him. And, this by way of our own sinful, and fallen nature. It is clear from Matt. 24 that Israel as a nation had to reappear at the end of the present age for the Lord’s prophetic word to be completed. The Preterists must deny the significance of the very recent return of the Jewish people to their ancient homeland. And finally, the gospel of the kingdom was not preached in all the world in that physical generation and the Lord did not return physically at that time. His actual coming is yet future. To speak of the second coming of Christ as having happened in that physical generation is to throw the word of God into confusion and misinterpret the Lord’s meaning.

    • @moezura545
      @moezura545 5 ปีที่แล้ว

you really mishandle the word of God... you said "THE GOSPEL OF THE KINGSOM WAS NOT PREACHED IN ALL THE WORLD IN THAT PHYSICAL GENERATION"... well, my friend, you've read these verses but ignore what they say... follow this:
Jesus said: "and this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole WORLD (oikumene) as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." (Matthew 24:14) - Paul wrote: "But I ask, have they not heard? Indeed they have, for "Their voice has gone out to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the WORLD (oikumene)."" (Romans 10:18)
Jesus said: "And the gospel must first be proclaimed to ALL NATIONS (ethnos)." (Mark 13:10) - Paul wrote: ...my gospel... has now been disclosed and by the prophetic writings has been made known to ALL NATIONS (ethnos)" (Romans 16:26)
Jesus said: "Go into ALL THE WORLD (kosmos) and proclaim the gospel to every creature." (Mark 16:15) - Paul wrote: "the gospel... which has come to you, as indeed in ALL THE WORLD (kosmos) it is bearing fruit and growing - as it also does among you..." (Colossians 1:6)
Jesus said: "Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to EVERY CREATURE (kitisis)" (Mark 16:15) - Paul wrote: "the gospel that you heard, which was proclaimed to EVERY CREATURE (kitisis) under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister." (Colossians 1:23)
Jesus said: "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to all the EARTH (ge)" (Acts 1:8) - Paul wrote: "But I ask, have they not heard? Indeed they have, for "Their voice has gone out to ALL THE EARTH (ge), and their voice to the ends of the world." (Romans 10:18)
So you see the gospel had been preached everywhere and to every creature in the FIRST CENTURY according to Paul... maybe you're more inspired than he was but I doubt it... read the Bible... trust the Bible... trust the words of Jesus... trust what Paul wrote... ALL prophecy was fulfilled by AD 70. Period. Preterism is right. Keep reading, you'll find the truth.

@@moezura545 The gospel of the Kingdom has not been preach in all the world as yet because we should be preaching Paul’s gospel which includes that fact that all that are saved at this time brings Jew and Gentile into a new creation wherein all partake of the heavenly calling. This is the mystery of the gospel that was hidden from the foundation of the world. When the Church, the body and bride of Christ is complete it will be translated into heaven before the wrath of God falls on the earth. When the Church of God is gone from this scene, God will revert to the calling of his earthly people, specifically a remnant of Jews to proclaim the coming of Christ in His millennial kingdom. As the Lord did preach, “repent for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand” Those saved during the 70th week of Daniel will not be incorporated into the “assembly which is His body” and the Jew and the Gentile being formed into “one new man”.
Preterism makes a mess of the book of the Revelation. Jeff’s teaching on this is misleading and distorted in trying to make things fit into the first century. The bottom line fact is the Kingdom of God, as presented by the Old testament prophets, has not come to pass yet as it was to be a time of messiahs kingdom in which Christ would sit on the throne of David and rule the world in righteousness and peace. That time of perfect rule and peace has never come yet. Many events described in the Revelation could not have possibly come yet despite the clever attempt to twist the events and symbols to meet the demands of a Preterist eschatology. The wrath of God on the kingdoms of this world has not happened yet. The world government has not formed yet. The battle of Armageddon has not taken place, and the coming of the Son of Man in great power and glory has not happened. To say otherwise is to create a false hope and a false Idea of the true Kingdom of God. Preterism also has negative effects on other areas of the truth of God’s word and its intended effect on God’s people. It is true that some futurists have fallen into error in trying to set a date even though we are told we cannot know the actual date, yet this does not alter the basic facts of the biblical revelation.

Brother Jeff, I appreciate your ministry in many ways. However you are clearly missing a vital hermeneutical point in developing your eschatological perspective of the Olivet discourse. And, frankly, this is a very troubling blind spot that seems all-too-common among my preterist Brethren.
Four times, the phrase, “the end of the age” appears in the Gospels. Those are the only four times the phrase is used in Scripture. If we truly allow the Scriptures to interpret themselves, (as you claim to do) we must conclude that you have used eisogesis rather than exegesis to define “the end of the age”. By using Jesus’ own clear definition of the phrase in Matthew 13:39-40, 13:49, and the implied definition in 28:20, we can easily understand why the disciples asked Jesus, “…what will be the sign of…the end of the age?” (Matthew 24:3). And then we can more clearly understand what Jesus referred to as “the end” in Matthew 24:14.
If “the end of the age” is, apparently, the final judgment of all, and the casting away of the wicked, which will be gathered up by the harvesters (the angels), then this phrase cannot be considered as being fulfilled prophecy in 70AD of the end of the age of temple sacrifice, etc, as you claim. And any attempt at putting it in the category of “fulfilled in history” implies that somehow the “harvest” and judgment has also been completed, and Jesus’ promise in 28:20 to be “with [us]” in fulfilling the great commission is no longer valid, seeing that “the end of the age” is long past.
I would love to hear a preterist exegete the two apparently “end of time” parables in Matthew 13 that speak of “the end of the age”, as well as Matthew 28:20, and then exegete the Olivet discourse with those in mind, allowing Scripture to interpret Scripture.

I'm only writing because I watch all your videos and know you all love Christ. So I want to dispell the lie that is constantly told regarding dispensationalism being a new type of doctrine. I believe this is important to understand. Not that it's heretical for we are justified through faith in Christ's atonement for our sins on the cross, which we all believe. But I do see attacks on dispensationalism all the time, and they are full of lies not only on the history of dispensationalism (which the arguments always begin with) but also on the actual doctrine. Meanwhile, the reformed theology contradicts scripture in many areas, most of which are regarding Israel and the church. Again, my best and closest friends whom I would die for are reformed pastors in so-cal! They bear wonderful fruit so I am in no way suggesting it's heretical, as some accuse dispensationalism of--which is also so ridiculous. Here's first the history of Dispensationalism: Dispensationalism is really not new (1825)."
#1-Papias AD 70-155. He knew the apostles personally. He wrote in Fragment 6: "After the resurrection of the dead, Jesus will personally reign for one thousand years. I was taught this by the apostles John, himself."
    #2 Tertullian AD 190-210
Against Marcion 3.25 "The Millennial Reign, Resurrection, and New Jerusalem are literal.
#3 Irenaeus AD 178 writing against cults of his day.
Against Heresies 5.35 "The Resurrection of the Just takes place after the destruction of the Antichrist and all nation's under his rule. Many believers will make it through the Tribulation and replenish the earth. The new heaven and Earth will be created, and then the new Jerusalem will come. These are all literal things, and Christians who allegorize them are immature.". He went on to say we should allow people to teach otherwise because if people get something as simple as the 2nd coming confused, what other problems do they have in their theology?
#4 Barnabas was taught by early church father's and quoted, in Epistle of Barnabas 16:5-7. It's a bit long so to paraphrase he was speaking about the Jews: "...they will return and rebuild the temple."
Premillenialism and literal future fulfillment of prophecy was taught by ALL church father's (#5 Justin martyr) until 3rd century, then came Amillenialism. Cypian AD 250 Epistle 67 he states the prophets of Antichrist foretold Heresies rising up in the church at the end of the world. He speculates the prophecy of Church's end-time apostasy is starting in Rome.
What happened that brought in Amillenialism (postmillennialism)?
The Schism of Nepos, AD 290.
1st few centuries gnostics taught many Heresies. Cherenthus (arch-enemy of apostle John) taught the millennium was for indulgence in food, drink, and sex. This is where Muslims get their 70 virgin doctrine.
Nepos, an Egyptian bishop, wrote in his book "Refutation of the Allegorists" all the quotes of early church father's regarding Pre-Millenialism. However, reaction to this book had the opposite effect and resulted in further Schism. Eastern orthodox even refused to read Revelation in the church.
The Apostolic Church was Pre-Millennial, and for over 200 years no other view was entertained. The writings of the "Church Fathers" abound in evidence of the fact. But about A.D. 250, Origen, one of the Church Fathers, conceived the idea that the words of scripture were but the "husk" in which was hid the' "kernel" of scripture truth. At once he began to "Allegorize" and "Spiritualize" the Scriptures, and thus founded that school of "Allegorizing" and "Spiritualizing"interpreters of Scripture, from which the Church and the Bible have suffered so much. The result was that the Church largely ceased to look for the Lord to return and set up an earthly kingdom.
When Constantine became sole Emperor of Rome in A. D. 323, being favorable to Christianity, he united Church and State. A new difficulty now arose in the interpretation of scripture. If, as was at that time believed, Rome was to be the seat of Antichrist, the question arose, or rather was suspiciously whispered-- 'Is Constantine the Antichrist? ' Such a notion was unpalatable to the Roman Emperor, and so a convenient explanation was discovered and adopted, that Antichrist was "Pagan Rome, " and that the Millennium commenced when Constantine ascended the throne. This was given color by the great gifts and privileges bestowed on the Church by Constantine, and led to the claim that the Millennial blessings of the Old Testament had been transferred from the Jews to the Christian Church.
But the claim that the "Papal Church" was the Antichrist would not down. When it was found
impossible to expunge the Book of Revelation from the sacred canon, it was decided to lock up the Scriptures, and the Bible became a sealed book, and the gloom of night settled down upon all Christendom. The result was the "Dark Ages." But amid the gloom God was not without witnesses to the truth. The Paulicians, Albigeneses, Waldenses, and other sects, bore testimony to the Premillennial return of the Lord. But the darkness was not eternal. When the fulness of time was come the "Morning Star" of the Reformation, John Wycliffe, arose, and was soon followed by the "Sun, " Martin Luther, the brightness of whose light dispelled the darkness. The doctrine of the Premillennial Return of the Lord was revived, but the Reformers did not go far enough. The period was one of religious strife and the formation of new religious sects. The result was an ebb of Spirituality and the growth of Rationalism, which refused to believe that the world was fast ripening for judgment, and a new interpretation of the Millennial Reign of Christ was demanded. This interpretation
was furnished by the Rev. Daniel Whitby (1638-1640), a clergyman of the Church of England,
who claimed that in reading the promises made to the Jews in the Old Testament of their
restoration as a nation, and the reestablishment of the Throne of David, he was led to see that these promises were spiritual and applied to the Church. This view he called a "New Hypothesis."
He claimed that Israel and Mount Zion represented the Church. That the promised submission of the Gentiles to the Jews was simply prophetic of the conversion of the Gentiles and their entrance into the Church. That the lying down of the lion and the lamb together typified the reconciliation of the Old and New natures, and that the establishment of an outward and visible kingdom at Jerusalem, over which Christ and the saints should reign, was gross and carnal, and contrary to reason, as it implied the mingling together of human and spiritual beings on the
earth. His "New Hypothesis" was that by the preaching of the Gospel Mohammedanism would be overthrown, the Jews converted, the Papal Church with the Pope (Antichrist) would be destroyed, and there would follow a 1000 years of righteousness and peace known as the Millennium; at the close of which there would be a short period of Apostasy, ending in the
return of Christ. There would then be a general resurrection of the dead, followed by a general
judgment, the earth would be destroyed by fire and eternity would begin.
The times were favorable for the "New Theory." A reaction had set in from the open infidelity of
those days. All England was in a religious fervor. The "Great Awakening" followed under Whitefield and Wesley, and it looked, as Whitby claimed, that the Millennium was about to be
ushered in. That he was mistaken the events of history since that time have shown. It is evident that we are not in the Millennium now.
Nevertheless his "Theory" was favorably received everywhere, and spread with great rapidity and became an established doctrine of the Church, and is what is known today as the "Post-Millennial" view of the Second Coming of Christ, and supposed to be the orthodox faith of the Church. In short, "Post-Millennialism, " as advocated in our day, is barely a few hundred years old, while "Pre-Millennialism" dates back to the days of Isaiah and Daniel.

36:30 Jeff you cite Origin as a positive source, as an early church father who was a preterist. Do you believe that Origin was saved? Origin taught that everyone, including the devil, could and in fact would be saved, he denied eternal punishment and was condemned for that at the Counsel of Constantinople 553. He rejected the Trinitarian view of God and held to a heirarchical view. He pioneered the allegorical hermeneutic. He cut off his male member based on Matt 19:12. This list could go on for ever of the heresies of Origin.
Are you endorsing Origin as a saved, sound Bible teacher? If not why are you appealing to him for support?

@@laurenlimebrook9828 What about in Revelation where it says that all of the earth would be destroyed if Jesus didn't come back when He does and How there has never been and never will be such destruction as it will be in that day? I think that since 70ad , we have seen a lot of destruction, but we haven't seen such that has never been shown such as in Revelation on earth? The destruction on the earth certainly cannot have happened. What about the mark of the beast and the two witnesses laying in the street and everyone seeing them? Also, when did the mountains and islands disappear?. There is no record of 100 pound hailstones. We live in the only time in history where people will not be able to buy or sell without the mark of the beast. Once we go to a whole world currency, digital, everyone on earth will have a phone or digital means of purchasing and everything being connected, it will be easy to cut us off, if we do not have the mark. Right now, we have a foreshadowing of it as they are trying to do the passports. Israel already has a system in place. The temple institute is all in place, everything to build a temple is all in place. All we need is a world leader to come on the scene to make it happen. Reread Revelation and see if you can see how it is still future. These things have not happened yet. But, we are nearing His return. Read Thessalonians. This book gives us an understanding of the Blessed Hope that is yet to come. If I thought that I am already in the Millennium and this is getting better, I would be definitely deflated. But, knowing that I am watching prophecy Isaiah 17 and the imminent destruction of Damascus and from Ezekiel 38-39 setting up to happen, I am watching while America is losing its status and is no longer backing Israel so that Israel will have no one to come rescue her except for God, that God is going to take us to be with Him as it states in John 14:3 I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am , there you may be also. Jesus is telling the truth. He is coming to take me to where He is. I am looking forward to that as it says in Thessalonians,
Comfort one another with these words. I pray that this will bring you comfort as well.

@@DonandBirdieHarms Thank you for your inquiry. It is too hard to discuss in comment section. I have been studying the HISTORIC INTERPRETATION of the Protestant Reformation which I believe is the correct one. If you read Matthew Henry commentaries on Revelation you can get a close approximation of that. Look online for his commentaries.
The book of Revelation is written as an allegory, a word picture, to describe events etc. Nothing can be taken literally as described but it is all literally true. I have been studying over the last 4 years, verse by verse and studying some history as well. The church believes FUTURISM today which is a total lie, a fabrication.
For instance, what you referenced about Jesus saying about the destruction has to do with the destruction of the temple and Jerusalem. Matthew 24 is all about Jerusalem except at the very end verses of the chapter when he answers the second question of the apostles.
All of Revelation has been going on throughout the history of the church and that is why we MUST KNOW HISTORY so we can see it fulfilled in history. Too bad most preachers are indoctrinated in the false interpretations of futurism which was not even believed until the 1800's. Before that all Christians KNEW the antichrist was the papacy and Rome was the Harlot church and the whore riding the beast. Hope this helps to get you on the right track because we are in the vials of Rev. 17 and 18 now.

    1) Daniel 9:
69 (weeks) x 7 (days in a week) = 483 years (lunar calendar). Convert to our calendar and it's 476 year and 21 days from cyrus decree to rebuild Jerusalem and it comes out to April 6, 32 AD the messiah would be "cut off."
    Using that SAME formula
    2) Ezekiel 4 God tells him to lay on his side to symbolize the years He would punish Israel & Judah. The number is 430 years. They spent 70 years in babylonian captivity as punishment, that leaves 360 years. Without getting into detail, Leviticus 26:18 God says if they don't turn to Him then He will punish them seven times more for their sins. So, as a general overview because I don't want to make this long:
    360 x 7 = 2,520 years (lunar calendar). Convert to our calendar and it's 2,483 years and 285 days.
Cyrus issued decree freeing Jews and Declaring state of Israel to exist again on August 3, 537 BC.
From that date, plus 2,483 years and 285 days brings us to May 14, 1948! What!!!!! Same formula used in Daniel to predict the coming messiah somehow also predicts the exact day Israel would be regathered in 1948. Okay, maybe we're tweaking numbers and making things up. Well, there's another prophecy in Daniel, let's check it.
    3) Daniel Chapter 4 Nebuchadnezzar (israel typology):
    7 years x 360 days= 2,520 years, just like Ezekiel's prophecy! Convert to our calendar = 907,200 days.
Cyrus decree according to history on August 3, 537 BC plus 907,200 days brings us to May 14, 1948! Two independent prophets confirm and bring us to the exact same day. Coincidence? What year was abraham born in the bible? Add up the genealogies from Adam, starting at zero (creation). Hmm...Abraham was born in 1948 on hebrew calendar. Coincidence? How about 52 other specific prophecies?
    4) Israel will be reestablished by a leader named David (Hosea 3:5). First Prime Minister was David Ben Gurion!
    5) The revived state will be named "Israel" Ezek 37:11
    6) Star of David will be on the Israeli flag (Isa. 11:10)
    7) British ships will be the first to bring the Jewish people home (Isa. 60:9)
    8) THE NATION WILL BE BORN IN A DAY (ISA 66:8). Never in history has this happened, until May 14th, 1948 the UN voted and Israel was declared a nation in 1 day!
I could go on and on. In fact, other specific prophecies predict to the very day Israel would gain the temple mount, and the date comes to June 7, 1967 AD. That's based on the inscription with the handwriting on the wall in Daniel. but it also says they would not build the temple...YET.
Replacement theology is dead. I mean, I can see it possibly before 1948, but since then just open your eyes! Is the church Israel? I don't know, who became a nation on May 14, 1948? In one day? In the land of Cannan? I didn't...did you??? Look, who's there? Seriously that freaking easy. And to those who think God ever did away with the Jews, shame on them. As Ezekiel AND Daniel pointed out, they have been serving their punishment. Next up, God promises to pour out His spirit on them, but for this to happen I believe the church has to get out of here (and I have very good reasons why, don't buy into the scoffer trap).
    MIC DROP!
