I think its the reverb and the feeling like you’re hearing it from another room that gives it the nostalgic feel.
Its the same with the videos that do “2010 party but you’re in the bathroom” and you hear the music from a different room, its that element I think :)
the reverb makes it sound sort of distant, just like the past.

And Taylor, who knows what we could have been, but her and her husband had a baby girl and moved to Florida, they seem really happy.
I’m the only one left here, I stayed behind to take over the family business, and every night as I take my evening jog, I run through those neighborhoods, by the schools where it all began, and for a moment I miss it.
But then I go home and kiss my kids good night, and sit down for a glass of wine with my wife on the porch and am grateful. Everything happened the way it should.

This reminds me of the last party I went to in senior year. Finals had just ended, convocation was the night before and it was one last bash before everyone went off to live their lives. At the time, a friend of mine named Max said "this is the last time we will see most of these people". At the time, i didn't think much of it, but looking back he was absolutely right. There were people who were at that party that I shared a drink with and laughed alongside that I have never spoken to since. Max and I drifted apart shortly after covid started and I don't keep in touch with anyone from high school anymore. It doesn't bother me though, I'm happy with where I am in life and I will always have the memories.

@@Arthur-xk5yt It's late, and that one really hurt my brain.
Can't help but chime in with the kind of nostalgia this triggered in my mind
This doesn't even take me back to my school days, but rather fairly recently, 4 years ago, when I ran into my former primary school classmate. We weren't friends back in school, and as far as I can remember, I was too scared to talk to her in class.
After a little over 13 years, we ran into each other completely by chance. We instantly recognised each other, but I was shocked by the joy in her eyes. I've never seen anyone so happy to see me my whole life, especially someone I wasn't even friends with.
My hair has grown a lot longer from my old bowl cut that she was more familiar with, and she asked a lot of questions about my new look. We spent 6 hours just reconnecting and catching up.
I've run into a lot of people I used to go to school with, but this was an entirely different experience. It feels like a second chance. I never had many friends in school. Not that I'm that religious, but it felt like God randomly decided *"hey, here's someone you could have been friends with many years ago, have fun!"*
maybe she had a crush on you in school?
It's October 12th, 2004. You're riding your bike through your suburban neighborhood on your way home from a friend's house. The sun is setting and the sky is on fire with reds, oranges and purples. Your breath forms an ethereal trail that disappears into the crisp air. The comforting smell of dryer exhaust and wood smoke issuing from houses you pass cradles a warmth inside of you. The sun's last rays thread through the pines like outstretched arms as you speed by. Somehow, everything is going to be ok.

You know what else makes me nostalgic? What was missing here is that in this Famine that China suffered, ALL Western countries left China alone. China received NO HELP from anyone. In other famines such as in India, in Africa, in Ireland or even the one suffered by Haiti, the wester nations contributed. In Bangladesh they contributed. In Bengal, the wester nations contributed. In Biafra, they contributed. Who does not remember the "Africa LIVE AID" of 1985, to help Somalia and Ethiopia? I still remember the song: "We are the World". And for China... NOTHING. This country, China, faced disaster alone and came out stronger than ever in its history. Alone. Without invading any sovereign country. Without stealing anyone's resources. Without attacking and without intervening in the affairs of other nations. Alone. Working hard to become the second world economic power. 40 years ago China was starving. Today, China has its own Space Station and is already on Mars. Today, the Chinese are proud to be Chinese. Three decades ago, the Chinese felt humiliated. Well not anymore. Never more! And finally. It's True: There was a terrible Famine. And yes, it is true. The Famine was Mao's fault... But, the Famine was also because China suffered 37 years of WAR! China was at uninterrupted war for 37 years! (Just between 1913-1949 have: --Xinhai Revolution: Failed New Empire Coup. --Second Xinhai Revolution. --National Protection War. --Warlord Infighting Across China. --First United Front: Northern Expedition. --First Chinese Civil War. --Second United Front: Protection against Japan in the WWII. --Second Chinese Civil War). U see? China was at war! This is why the Famine happened and not just Mao. China suffered more than two years of Hungry (1959-1961), and although Famines have been present throughout the history of mankind, they have never been as cruel as in China and its almost 5 million deaths. (The Propaganda says it was 10 million... or more).

It perfectly captures the intersection of pain and optimism in these "life-defining" moments if you will. it sounds like carousel by blink 182 or girl next door. both from 1994
could be something more recent like "The spectacular now"
just amazing
Beautiful.
It’s pretty genius actually. The distortion makes the lower notes sound mushy, while the higher notes are gentle. So you have dark background noise with a gentle melody- making it a dirge
Sounds Lil too soft for dist though? Isn't it closer to overdrive?
DUDE!!! Your riff sounds like a song I wrote 30 years ago, except each passage is twice as long. Goes to show there is only so much that can be done with the 12 notes on the scale, and how somewhere down the line another brilliant mind is gonna stumble across a similar passage. Bravo and brilliant!!! Cheers mate!🤘🎸🏴☠️

Damn man, I was prepared for some cool lead lines but instead got absolutely face-fucked by nostalgic memories.
Beautiful, keep going bro. You’ll make it
Jesus loves you and he died for your sins
Face-fucked!? Call the cops dude.

Bruh layer this three times and it’ll be an ethereal masterpiece
That was so good.
im amazed of how clean it sounds in terms of no squeaking noises when the fingers travel across the fretboard
Good catch bro
It’s probably plugged into recording software

🤘Shit... I put this on Loop and Drive!🤘
I love it. Getting MCR vibes form it.
Nicely done, homie!
Bittersweet someone said. There are many moments in life that are bittersweet. And this riff captures it perfectly. Its great and I hope it expanded beyond the riff and created an epic piece. Good show Edwin.
Like pretty much everyone else, this reminds me of my school days. I remember walking through the busy halls, spending lonely hours in study hall, etc. I never really liked school, I was usually that one weird kid everyone ignored or mocked behind my back, but with this particular riff I can't help but think back to those days, how easy I had it back then. All I can say is to those of you reading this, cherish each moment, no matter what's happening, because you'll never get them back.
Man this hit
Damn, this hit hard
Man I'm in high school still and this is something I hope I never forget
I graduated school 2 years ago, I am so glad I never have to go back. I'd sooner die than spend another year there

Shit.... this sucks cause this happened to me with my bestfriend.
Dude this comment hit harder than the rest of them despite its simplicity
@@danramos6192 I said goodbye today. He wasn't even a friend... he was my brother man.
@@Ren-tw7zq I know how you feel. My 2 best friends split away from our hometown. One of them went several states away and the other went to the army and is stationed in Indonesia. Luckily, you will be found by other people who will become your brothers and this man you speak of will also be found.
Maybe you'll meet again and be better people for having gone through what you did.
sounds great :D
why do i wanna cry all of a sudden
The guitar is such a wonderful instrument, and this tune is so mid 2000s...I truly miss those days.
“I’ll see you guys soon!” he said to us all. But he never came back.
We all heard stories, sure. He headed east, got a job in the city somewhere; or he met a girl and they ran off somewhere together. I heard he hitchhiked until he finally saw the ocean. Some one else said he died and never made it out of the state. I’m not sure, really.
We all get together sometimes when we’re all home. It never feels like we’re all here, though, without him...
