I knew Octavia from childhood before the transition few knew her as I did we were childhood BFF she named all my Barbie dolls for me we spent so much time together. Octavia wasn’t even open about her sexuality she had a girlfriend I was the first person she came out to we grew up in Brooklyn NY together in the 70s I knew Octavia would transition she so admired the female lifestyle and anatomy she was destined to become Octavia I’m glad that she got to live her life the way she wanted on her terms. I lost touch with Octavia once she moved away but over the years I often wondered how she was but never found out until Facebook was born and I found a mutual friend that grew up with us and she told me she passed my heart was shattered I didn’t get to say goodbye to my childhood bestie. RIP Octavia I will always remember those summers we spent playing outside shine bright like a diamond my friend.

This was before all the plastic surgery, It was at a time when they were filming Paris is Burning but it had not been released yet. Octavia was wearing this beautiful form fitting black dress with black fishnets stockings with the seems up the back of the legs, red high heel pumps, And she had the old fashion kids Metal school lunchbox in red made into a purse.
Maybe she didn't win that contest to become a model in Paris is burning but i think overall she became a Legend and in the end she was that model she was aiming for to be. Same with Venus I mean me a random person still remembers her today.
