Yep, if the guy wasn't trying to scam his own playerbase the best possible move would be to make the Co-Op mode free and with the options of offline singleplayer. Let people get a taste for the game and then nudge them with the "hey, why don't you pay 60 bucks and play the REAL Tarkov with other people?".

"slum lord PUBLISHERS..." There, I fixed it for you. The vast majority of the time, the publisher is the scummy one. Tarkov is a rare exception(like Blizzard) where the devs are part of the problem.

The people actually developing the game -coding the code, creating the assets, magicing it all together- likely are pissed that their bosses boss has decided to do these things. That wasn't the idea of Michael the junior developer who (two weeks ago) was hyped he got to work on a game he likes, it's the idea a bunch of suits came up with.
at 1:00 luke says "offline PVE mode" , even in the tarkov community I make sure to say this alot, its not offline PVE mode, its a PVE co op mode, you can play with other people or alone but it is never OFFLINE, you allways need connection to the servers, it opens an instance in their server, so lets say you are having a shit internet and still want to play tarkov, that doesn't work you will lag because basicly what they are doing is opening a lobby but just letting you and your party in, its even worse then people actually think it is.
main reason is cause BSG don't want to reveal the loot pool on maps, thats why it's on their servers
@@irisazyre there is already SPT that generates everything in your own computer, tarkov feed all the information to your PC the minute you enter the lobby thats why radar hacks exist and will allways be undetectable, that is just an excuse somehow was spread, we already know how everything is generated. its already a problem that the loot inside a container is generated not when you open it but when the lobby is created. this is nothing new.

the industry isn't the problem, maximizing profits is one of their jobs, asides from making games. The problem lies in the gamers ourselves, that continue to support these games/companies.

@@anthonytitone The other issue is that publicly traded companies have investors who know NOTHING about the project/products and just want the money graph to go up continuously, most of these investors are older people over the age of 50-60 who are just trying to make more millions before they die for some reason.
It's a central greed issue, so many greedy people run the world and they are sucking the world dry of resources all while a death cult (climate extremists) wanders around making the youth think the world is ending.
I thought the word after 250 would be gigabyte, bit dollar. Wtf? This needs to kill the game and set a precedent.

The fact of the new package is not what upset us.
How they modified their website changing the verbiage used.

19:35 not to long ago war thunder players tried boycotting war thunder and while they weren't entirely successful it managed to send a message gaijin entertainment who then made changes to the game which made it fun for the first time in years.
I feel like the only thing that really hurt gaijin were all the leaked military documents that got them investigated.

Yeah, that's obvious, but it in no way solves the problem of the people who were sold access to all subsequent DLCs that will not include this DLC.
This isn't a situation where people are just buying a movie ticket and then continuing to watch a movie they hate over and over for some stupid reason, people were sold a movie ticket and they ripped the reel out mid flick and asked them to buy four more tickets to keep watching.

The uninstall bar was slowly going up as I watched this. I was starting to fall out of love with Tarkov, but this pushed me over.
And this is why more people are playing older games, heck I'm playing my backlog on steam and other consoles.
Escape from Tarkov is older than a lot of games, it was released 7 years ago.

The price was just the match that lit the fire. The nerve, to attempt to force this down our throats, after THEY decided to use OUR money to fund a game (Arena,) that NO ONE asked for... before even finishing the game WE paid for... is CRAZY. There were so many ways they could've skinned this cat and they chose THE most brutal way lmao. All they had to do was admit Arena was a bust and ask for more moneh.
It's funny, EVE players rioted over the funding of other game ventures, which for the industry has been a pretty typical expectation. But EVE was already released for many years at that point. Now all these early-access games are trying to do that, and wondering why they're getting blow-back. Well, I mean they're pretending to be surprised by the blow-back, and pretending to care. Your last point sounds fantastic, but so many of these devs are completely divorced from humanity. I've seen so many projects do fantastic by treating their players like friends, you know, talking to them about your ups and downs. When they're struggling, they let us know. But this is rare, and what we're seeing here is the typical fake surprise and false emotions of a corporate construct attempting to mimic emotion.

I have some tarkov friends and they claim they bought EOD years ago and say they got their moneys worth for how much time they put in and are fine paying 250 (or 50$ upgrade Idfk). I keep telling them it’s a scam and they’re just smoking meth.
I don't know them but i'm fully agreed with them since i'm also had the eod pack and i fricking loving this game. Which actually makes me think about Nikita's words about true fans. Maybe he wasn't so wrong after all.

Borderlands 2 had this "buy this bundle and you get all the DLC" thing. then they put out more dlc after they did not include. It's the standard, not the acceptation, and it shouldn't be legal. Bethesda did this for the anniversary DLC bundle thing that had "all the creation club content"...then they put out more creation club content, guess what, not included.
Needs to not be legal. If there is an "all inclusive" bundle it needs to give you access to every damn pixel the game ever squeezes out for the rest of goddamn time.

isn't Tarkov based off Andrei Tarkovsky movie Stalker, which was also turned into multiple video games before Tarkov, so i don't know where they are coming from saying other people ripped them off
Tarkov is based more off of the STALKER games derived from the movie, yes.
The entire Arena mode is a spritiual successor to the arena in STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl which appears in a HUB, this is why BSG/Nikita kept saying the Arena is a real world place you can go to with a trader associated wit hti, because the original idea they were copying was the same.
The only thing they've done different is a sprint-time aesthetic, no radiation and no magic/anomalies.
@@Rexhunterj STALKER GAMMA is amazing! It's a free (really, legally) version of a heavily modded map of all the STALKER games. I wonder how difficult it would be to set up a no anomalies version for Tarkov players.
I mean ripoff in this games is cause the gunsmith ui and weapondesign is nearly 1:1, gunsmith is totally the same but na its more like a clone which is more optimized cause it originally is a mobile game by tencent and thats why nikitais crying cause he knows that tencent will put in millions to DESTROY tarkov and get all their players
Randy Pitchford also tried to play around with the definition of DLC in the past and in his case he was successful. Basically he claimed that BL3 would have no micro transitions, but when the game launched there were skins you could buy and since they weren't part of the main game's files and you would have to buy them outside the game and download them, technically they qualified as DLC which was his argument.
There is a recent early access game I found that is a tarkov style shooter that is solely PvE with Co-op called Incursion Red River, definitely worth a look if anyone wants that style of game without paying out the nose, the game is $16.99 US and is honestly a lot of fun and customizable for your loadouts.

SpTarkov is the PERFECT mod if you want to enjoy Tarkov as a SP experience. No loading queue, much better perfomance, adjustable everything. Ive been playing for a while and its no more or less buggy either.
My friend bought it after day 2 and spent the next 22 hours playing. Yes the Tarkov players are that subservient. I literally told him "you are the problem" over and over and hes literally playing right now

SPT mod fixed this game for myself and many gamers, crafted the game to my liking, finished the game to my satisfaction, shelved it. Now I wait for the full release, just as I wait for the Half-Life 3 release.
I'm not even a Tarkov player but it's refreshing to see common sense from any other gamer.

I started on the standard edition. It was so much more difficult to get anywhere. The inventory system sucks.
Edge of Darkness gives you a major advantage in economy which is basically progression. Max starting stash size, biggest pouch at start, more guns ammo gear.
Yet the max inventory is still too small and the system still sucks.
My favorite part is this is the perfect example of how when gamers complain about how the industry does something universally seen as bad, they’re still gonna buy it and therefore tell the industry that this is A-OK to do. Until you vote with your wallets, they aren’t gonna stop doing the thing that makes them money, *especially* the major publicly traded publishers. Anything they do that nets shareholders a return is what they’re gonna always do, so you need to prove that strategy to be terrible by resisting FOMO for half a bloody second.
"Can gamers grow a backbone?" There's definitely some truth to this. But the timing is funny, as thr Helldivers 2 Community retaliated so hard against Sonny that they reversed their PSN requirement.

So I tried Grey Zone Warfare today and my potato can play Tarkov okay but not this game, the only way I could get decent frames was the dynamic res which made it look horrrible. Not really on them but I wont be able to play it until I decide I can upgrade.
Tarkov has apparently made some announcement reversing course in some capacity but I don’t know any details
I have never played Tarkov, but from a gamedev standpoint, adding a paid PvE offline mode will only split the playerbase. Right now the game is popular because no matter what you will always run into another player, but with games that split their playerbase like this, chance encounters become much more rare.
I'm so glad I still have the "not rightfully acquired" copy of the game.

Another note on the increased flea slots. Back around 2016 we used to have that many slots and they lowered it to hamper RMT farmers.
So BSG are making us pay to get back what we used to have.
I don't think the price is the issue. It's more that they introduced a new price tag for something people were expecting to receive for free. They probably could have set this at $5 and still gotten flack. Because the primary complaint is that a promise has been broken and trust has been lost

I bought EOD 6 years ago, they're letting you play PVE if you have EOD, my buddy had eod, and got access to pve. Neither of us have time to grind pvp anymore. I dropped the extra 50 to play PVE with my boys asap. I've got my money's worth
The gamer community as a whole has become profoundly enabling to bad corporate behaviour. Nobody wants to not buy a game their friends might be playing because of corporate decisions... Hell, the majority don't even want to ditch Windows despite the new baked in advertising and general broken state because a couple games might be more difficult to run on Linux. It's straight up INSANE.
I just can't.... Imagine locking the single MOST REQUESTED FEATURE behind a $250 paywall.

The fact that unheard players get to call in a helldiver is the most p2w thing.
so for me i have the prepare to escape edition which is one edition below EOD and to unlock the PVE mode it would cost me £151.28 to upgrade just to unlock PVE
Brand new in Australia the edition is $440 AUD with tax,
The upgrade is something like 180 AUD from EOD.

If they made it a standard mode for everybody, even the cheapest tier, they would have made way more money in the long run. Making the game more casual for those who just want an extraction shooter that’s offline. But now they price locked the average casual consumer from their game. Selling 10,000 copies of a 45 dollar game seems better than selling NO copies of a 250 dollar game.
That's the way it is with a niche game, you can't be supercritical about the game because there is this fear that the company who made it will abandon it

masochistic would be the correct modern term for receiving pain in some way and searching for more in the form of crappier version of games or over priced dlc's. wallet pain , not physical but i believe it would still apply.
Bought Tarkov years ago, maybe played it twice, that's it but the more videos I see about it the more i don't want to give it a shot again!

Have a standard account, considered upgrading to eod, for gamma but didnt cause i didnt play that much. Glad I didn't, gonna get a standard acc on grey zone soon (maybe) snd upgrade if I enjoy it

After a couple thousand hours played in Tarkov... I've had EOD since 2017... i un-installed it the second they announced Unheard. It's Gray Zone for me now
They either rectify the situation THE RIGHT WAY or they should simply refund all EOD accounts to those who want since they're not fulfilling their side of the bargain.
I spent €140 because I was promised I'd get all future content as well as have the best version of the game and that nothing else would replace it. Suddenly they decided to walk back on both of those promises. Refunds are tricky to get so long after a purchase, and the idiots buying the upgrade don't make BSG want to walk back on this. I hate modern gamers, literally no backbones or morals.

I can not play Tarkov, but still play Tarkov via SPT.
Its a $50 upgrade now. I dont agree with what BSG did but i like most of the features for pve.
The struggle is what makes EFT fun and BSG is actively going against this by giving all of this shit to the Unhinged edition players that makes this struggle a cake walk.
