@@cronixx_1 Thanks for the reply. I've had the same problem... shutting down and rebooting once a month or so. Motherboard just replaced but the problem just popped up again.

nice thishelped i tested it a few days first no auto shutdown anymore i subbed to ur channel. i had the same sometimes it just randomly restarted while i had all thins off from engergy safings to not restart this finally fixed it for me aswel. even on legal windows 10 pro edition it did it i wil never go to windows 11 as i hate the looks of windows 11.

Hey Tech Mash. Out of curiosity, what was the cause of sudden shutdowns/restarts that you were dealing with and fixed with this set of steps? Shut downs started for me out of the blue since last week which I have yet to isolate the culprit for.

Question my pc is restarting when i try to open a game i checked all my GPU both fans are running at full speed and my CPU AIO fans are also running at full speed and i have tried almost everything so i think the problem may be is my PSU i think that it doesnt outlet 12 volts
can this be the same problem as when it takes multiple tries to turn a loptop on? it stays that way for a few hours then just shutsdown randomly. The thermal paste was recently placed, the fan was cleaned and I have no idea what else to do... please help!!!!
I got the same problem since 1 week with my T420 😭 It worked fine, even I changed the CPU to a Quadcore I7....I think it clings together with Windows 10 (21H1 or H2)...Win7 is working fine as a test...no shutdown...only with the current 21H2...I will try to install 20H1 or H2...perhaps these version will work
I sincerely hope this works. I don't really do much on my desktop computer anymore but these last few months has started the aggravating problem of the random restarts for no reason. My computer is a few years old...maybe it's just shot. But it seems odd that I've scanned for viruses and malware, nothing comes up. The HP diagnostic scans come up clear. I've downloaded a program and it looks like the computer isn't getting overheated. I'm just at a loss and it's really difficult asking or getting help when you really don't even have errors you can reference. I like pulling up youtube while I'm taking a bath and I was listening to a video on loop last night. Only window up and the damn computer rebooted. Even when I'm sitting at the computer, it's not like pop ups come up saying what the problem is. Event Viewer isn't really much help. Yeah, I know the computer wasn't shut down properly but it wasn't of my doings!

Which is like an error where windows just gives you a blue screen error that restarts your computer, cause i have been experiencing it right now and it just restart loops every time i open my computer, my dad who is an IT told me maybe because the os is broken and we should rest or my cpu is just dirty wherein it causes statitc to the pc parts or its some apps that are corrupted that forces my pc in a blue screen.
@@HarryOliverx okay if i recall ive had both, ive had the random pc shutting off and the blue screen error. The blue screen error from what i have researched is mosty because of microsoft updating shit from time to time, an update that we do not rly need and uhh this update eventually accumulates in our pc and so what i did was prevent the incoming updates etc. But yeah after doing that, it’s not there anymore

but auto on off is so frequent that there is no time to solve it. in my laptop(ARBAS)
in my case it was the CMOS battery problem all i did was take it out clean the slot and the battery and put it back and now it was fixed.

@@TechMash Unfortunately your registry procedure didn't work for me, about 5 seconds after shutdown my computer restarts. I checked the other settings: network adapter "let device start up computer" unchecked, "Turn on fast startup (recommended)" unchecked.

Hi! I haven't tried this method yet but hopefully this works :( I've been exhausted for finding a repair shop that could fix my problem with my laptop. After I upgraded it to SSD , I can only use it for few minutes and it automatically shut off, black screen , standby and worst , I have to click the power button again to start. I've been experiencing this for days now. Help 😭

Guys be careful with this. Auto restart can sometimes save your components from getting burned if the temperature is too high. Im not sure but i think doing this will prevent the system from restarting when it reaches dangerous temps. **Always monitor your temps when your PC performs demanding tasks!! **
Most of the components like graphics card have a auto shut down feature like im not spending $600 for this card to not be smart af lmao but i would rather to get rid of the auto restart

Hello, your instructions are incorrect. Choosing between 32bit integer (DWORD) or 64bit integer (QWORD) for the value type is not related to the system type. It is just the memory storage type for the value size. All the allowed values for this key fit in the 32bit type so the official guideline says to use DWORD for storing the value. Also more importantly the official key name is "WindowsUpdate" not "Windows Update". Anyone following your instruction is just messing up their registry and will not stop automatic reboots.
