I mean it just takes attention to detail, and a little common sense. Nobody should have been working on that building with how bad the structures foundation was.
Thats because we follow western method of construction that is half explained by the people who teach, because they themselves are not sure of their stupid methods.
Structural failures that cause structures to collapse can be prevented by following safety standards and specifications required by designers, builders, and specifications. Elementary safety standards must not be postponed or forgotten and the quality of materials must be optimal. Fortunately in this example, there were no fatalities to mourn. The explanations are concise and precise and it gives us a great teaching in the field of Civil Engineering. Great video. Thanks.
The main problem is there are no load bearing walls or columns & peripheral wall to carry the load this is what happens when it’s not under engineers supervision
The slab had no support. They should have placed beams between the columns. Still the clear span between the column on longer length is too high I think.
I think major root cause are 1. Central roof don't have any column. 2. Rebar overlapping is provided on centre of roof. There must be single straight piece rebar and must be lock with corner columns rebar like cranking system rebaring or plate beam system rebaring..
The prime reasons maybe 1.Props are not perpendicular 2.double stage props were given which are always very dangerous 3.The base ground should be compacted well and should be laid with PCC before propping 4.Before concreting proper checking about props stability was not done.
On the bright side, they can collect remaining concrete and can build a compound near their building and now they know they have to modify their structure and will avoid collapsing before furnishing it
In construction beam design we take that the percentage of steel should be maximum or more than the minimum percentage of steel ... My question is that what if the minimum percentage of steel is maximum or more than the percentage of seel? Also I want to ask that which type of beam is most economical of the given types? Singly Reinforced, Doubly reinforced and T-beams?
If min percentage of steel is greater than the calculated percentage of steel than you should use min %Ast as per IS code. Singly reinforced is the most economical. Doubly reinforced beams are only used if the SRB design is not satisfactory. And T-beams cannot be compared to SRB or DRB. It’s just a type of beam. It can be designed as SRB or DRB.
Middle part of roof has less wooden columns as compare to sides where beams were supported by extra supports. Another factor must be the leaked slurry which weakened the base supports
There are two main factors that caused failure.. 1. Too minimum column number for that wide beam 2. Too high level (approx 6 m) of the plate that it is undergoing high moment inersia..
The main reason behind this failure is the absence of a civil engineer. Some ppl don't hire any civil engineer they just give contact to the local thekedars who don't know any things about the construction. They hired Mason as a engineer 😄😄😄
it's strange that in this country you can build such a big building without be obliged to calculate the load and if the ground, the pilars can support it. You make a good job on explaining the rules of buildinf safely. In Africa a building with 21 floors colapse during building and a lot of workers died.

This is the first time I have seen such a video on construction, where Technology & Engineering is applied in the least possible manner. We do not call this a construction. Shame on the builder who has undertaken this task.
The whole thing is utterly ridiculous. Even any untrained person can see this is a disaster in the making. How is it possible for that many people to be that stupid in one place?
There's only two concrete columns at front that building, the span was too wide, if they want to build on that long wide span... They need a highly cualification engineer.
The overall conclusion is double story suttering without bracing small surface area of scaffolding inclined scaffolding weak ground surface reinforcement overlap mistake Spacing of column
I think there should be at least one person in charge who has actually "studied" structural analysis and/or has a very good/professional understanding of scaffolding. However, developing country!

I think you missed some important major comments. I observed that there were no girders and secondary beams at all in that video. No developed lengths bends and hooks were seen. If it were, beams must have been poured concrete altogether with slab commiting wrong sequence of work. They poured the whole top area in one setting. In standard construction chronologically, foundations, columns and floor girders are already in place properly cured prior to preparation of slab works. Span of colums and slabs seems it exceeded beyond their maximum distances. Not only did they violated building codes, they ignored at least the thumb rule of traditional building construction.
