I love all these and do them all myself. I especially love the one about waiting to buy groceries. I have been doing that a lot lately. I have become very creative, making meals out of random bits sitting in my refrigerator and cupboards. It is like a fun challenge. And I would say that 95% of my days are no-spend days!
I'm with you in the whole reduce-reuse-recycle situation. Plus drinking tap water. In fact yesterday my transparent plastic water bottle eventually broke (it was hard plastic and I'd been using it for at least 10 years). A friend gave me a metal water bottle for Christmas... haven't used it yet but I guess that will be getting an outing now 😂
Absolutely, tap water all the way! Back in my home country tap water was way too hard for people to drink it safely, so I am very grateful that in the last 10 years of my life I have been able to ditch bottled water completely! Ahahaha, awesome I wish you lots of fun with your new water bottle then! 🤗
I'm with you on the grocery shopping and cooking 100%. I also challenge myself to hold off shopping a few days and get creative with what I can make from what I have in the fridge and pantry. I always cook lots and portion out and freeze the leftovers, which comes in so handy for busy nights when I don't want to cook. When I find a great deal on a pantry item that I know I use, I'll buy a couple extra to have on hand for future. :)
Dear Jenny, I live in the capital of Argentina. Feel free to google our inflation rates, but try to be sitting down when you read them. 🤣🤣 I also live alone and refuse to do meal prepping and planning, but I agree with you wholeheartedly on the topic of leftovers. I can't believe that some people don't eat leftovers just because they get tired of eating the same thing again on the next day -- to me, that's one of the perks of living alone. Maybe you cook a standard recipe and because it's meant for more portions, you can save it for another day. It's absolutely great for me as a busy girl too. I wish you the very best and thank you for these useful tips! 💕💕😘😘
When I go to the grocery store now I stock up on food that you do not need to cook...I have 60 meals on hand in case of power outages like we went through.
Love these kinds of videos from you! Very sensible indeed. Wish I could stick to them, as my greatest vice is scrolling through Amazon when I am bored at work, which is daily! Then my cart gradually fills up with stuff and lo and behold, another purchase.
I understand how discouraging can be. But at least you have identified what triggers you to buy mindlessly, which is boredom. Try to find a replacement for that impulse to buy out of boredom! Something free that can keep you occupied but that does involve the scrolling. Maybe you can read something, like a blog or some articles online about something you are passionate about? Or maybe listen to an audio book?
Great tips! We don’t batch cook but we make “extra” at evening meals and this one of the meals for the next day. Also it’s much much healthier! I’ve stopped buying many of my regular items: things such as mayonnaise because of the astronomical price increase. We “invest” in olive oil and make small amounts of our own mayonnaise, and other dressings. Your haircut is so cute! Fun!🐇💛
I really love your approach towards saving money - all of these tips feel very genuine and relatable 🙂 My favorite one is to be true to ourselves and not to buy unnecessary stuff just because we're influenced and encouraged to do so. Btw, one frugal tip which I see very often and which I really try to avoid is using supermarket loyalty cards - I know it could save me a bunch of money, but I totally hate the idea behind it 😕
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you have liked the video and find the tips relatable! 🤍 It does make you save a bunch signing up for a store card, but I can understand that it can be bothering, because they have your information and send you notifications with offers and stuff. But nowadays with apps it doesn't feel overwhelming, as long as you deactivate all notifications and only open the app when needed. At least this is my personal approach with them and it works well so far!
I like your content and very useful for pips who don’t like to watch it. I’m here the first time by the way and while watching your video I decided to watch it to the end just to see will you “slap” me in a face and you did 😂😂😂 Oh, well, maybe there’re some other TH-camrs who are more gentle to me.
I rarely use an air conditioner because I have a nice enough not perfect but nice enough basement. That is only 72°... My electric bill was under $7 this month because I don't need a computer and I don't have a TV or radio plugged in cellphone exclusively..one floor lamp lights 3 rooms.
I only buy clothes in Gray or tan so I can wash them together. The same thing is true for towels.. I have 4 tops and 2 pairs of shorts...2 pair of slacks in the frigid winter (layers) I hand wash everything at night..
Thank you for the great tips on how to save money. One problem I see is with the savings account. Inflation is so high that money disappears like spring snow. I'd rather buy something durable or help someone as long as the money is worth something.
I think pet owner would do anything for their little ones and is more than happy to so it. But if my cat at some point would decide to get a job, I‘d certainly wouldn’t say no 😂
Beer is NOT more expensive than water. A large bottle of course will be, but is illegal in Germany to have nothing non-alcoholic cheaper or at least same price as something alcoholic. Often it is tea if it isn't a normal sized glass of (sparkling) water. I don't like eating without any beverage so I often have tea with my food at a restaurant
Yes, it did, the purple washed out and now it’s blonde (they had to bleach my hair first in oder for the purple dye to really work). But I’m planning to dye it purple as soon as possible! 😊
Not necessarily if spending time with a pet keeps you present and not scrolling, and keeps you grounded caring for someone other than yourself and keeps you from so much FOMO, etc. Sorry, I have a pet,I can’t go on that weekend holiday, etc.
@CAGChannel1 exactly! I had my cat for almost 4 years now. She is family to me and I don’t see why someone would question that. No one would suggest to anybody to get rid of a relative or a kid to save money, so why would I do this with my cat? 🥺
@@TheSimplicityDiaries Lol I'm not suggesting to get rid of your cat. If you already have one then that's that. It's just funny the video is about how to save money and yet you spend a lot on a "want" every month. A cat isn't a "need". You're negating a lot of what you think you're saving by spending more on a pet.

That’s fantastic, well done! 🤍
I love the thrill of the hunt for thrifted and clearance items too!
I love how you put it, frugal is mindful living. Btw I really like your studio apartment, it reflects who you are and your life philosophy
Everything on point. Well said ! Congratulations on your platform. I will share this video, in a few days.
All great tips!! When I stopped browsing/shopping as a hobby and found other things I loved to do that were free my spending decreased dramatically.
That’s great! Well done for being able to identify your spending triggers and finding a solution to it! 🤍
Amen!
I have one set of clothes that I wear at home and I have the other clothes for public... As soon as I get home I change my clothes.

Sending you lots of love all the way to Argentina! 🤍

I really appreciate your ideas about remembering to use the library and the idea to start a book swap that sounds fun!
I can’t recommend it enough, it really is a lot of fun!
You can find audio books on TH-cam too.

Very cool I didn't realize I could make my own mayonaise and now I will look it up.
Absolutely! And great tip with the mayo, it is for sure healthier and much more delicious than the store bought one!
Thank you so much ☺️

Perfect! I love your videos.

Here in the US inflation is really bad. Rent and housing is very expensive too.
Brilliant

You need to start a TH-cam for your cat. LOL..Put her to work!! She needs to pay for her cat food and treats!😂😊

What are your favourite thrift shops in Berlin? :)
I so get it!! I also wish my cat paid rent lol😂

I never run a dishwasher or use a microwave.
England is exactly the same🙁

I always keep a little can of cashew nuts in my car..
Me too , I keep crackers in my car. And I bring a chopped apple-orange or banana at work...
Hi Jen, thanks for the contents. Always inspiring. I cannot help but notice that your purple hair turned blond ish… correct me if I’m wrong.
Yes, it did, the purple washed out and now it’s blonde (they had to bleach my hair first in oder for the purple dye to really work). But I’m planning to dye it purple as soon as possible! 😊
@@TheSimplicityDiaries Save money and don't. You don't need purple hair. Your normal hair color is pretty.
Clap your hand if you know it

@scottdaly49 Last time I checked I didn't ask for your opinion on whether or not I should have a cat and why, but thank you 😂

What?! Kitty doesn’t bring home any money?😂 Time to put kitty on the street to shake her money thing. - yeah being cuddly gets you no $ 🫤
