Is your needle all the way up or down when you zero it?

It must be all the way down (as much sticking out of the needle guide as possible, or in engine terms, bottom dead center)

Can this be retrofitted to use on another CNC machine? Nice job by the way!

I don't see why not. With a servo tester, esc, lipo and brushless DC motor its pretty well self contained.

      Thank you!
If you don't mind.... where can one get parts or a Needle cutting kit for my machine? Love the quiet design and would prefer this vs a 3d printed version.

What parts are you looking for? I doubt you can find a kit that will be tailored to your specific machine, you will most likely have to design your own mount. You can get the servo tester, ESC, lipo and BLDC from any online hobby store (Amazon, Hobby King, Banggod, Gearbest, etc). You don't really need anything fancy to mount all of that stuff to. A couple pieces of plywood would be good enough. I'd suggest having a look at this if you haven't seen it already: forum.flitetest.com/showthread.php?24251-Cutting-foam-sheets-with-a-needle! Lots of good information on there.

Looking for the needle guide at the very least with different threading and flywheel. Everything else seams pretty simple.

In that thread I linked, most people just use a MIG welding tip for a needle guide which seems to work well. My needle guide was custom built for me by a coworker. The flywheel I just cobbled together out of some scrap plastic laying around. If you have a CNC you could probably make one without too much trouble.

Great video, and I love your setup to auto zero the Z axis. I have a question, is you're CNC a custom design or a kit build?

Its custom. I took the general idea from the Openbuilds OX design. Mine is a little lighter than that design though.
