I put this video on while I was keeping my easily distracted 11 year old on task before he left for school. You got part way through the intro and I heard my mini-me say, in sync with the video, "Welcome back to Tactical Bassin" with the same inflection and tone as Matt! 😂
I do give you guys props, your not on here trying to sell the most expensive gear, tackle, exc. Your not like some of these guys out there trying to say only the most expensive gear is going to work, and you have to have the most expensive fishing gear. Not just for the people with unlimited amounts of money out there. The average fisherman can afford some of the stuff your showing. Awsome job guys, keep up the good work.
I love how you mentioned the d bomb. I use them as a flipping bait and when they get torn up I put them on the back of a jig. They're one of my favorite jig trailers but I can't justify cutting one in half just to use as a trailer so I have a zip lock I put all of the ones that won't stay on a flipping hook anymore to use for later on my jigs
I have a dark sleeper that got the paddle tail nipped off...almost threw it out but casted a few more and started slayin em with no tail just dragging and hopping 😅
Some great baits in here, especially the dark sleeper. It slays this time of year for suspended fish in ANY cover. I watched this video and went to Tackle Warehouse to shop, and I have some advice for the budget shoppers out there. Go to this round of sales, click on the category you need, scroll down and find the clearance section and click it, then filter the results by price "low to high". Some of the baits discussed in this video are on clearance right now at 30-40% off! Great series guys 🎣🎣
yeah they don’t care. they have no care about long time customers. They want new, small orders for some reason. I don’t even use them anymore. I go to hookuptackle. they have actual deals and care about long term customers. Fuck TW
We totally understand. Last year we weren't thrilled with the format and we actually got the opportunity to voice our opinion post-sale. We took the time to hear the other side and it completely changed our perspective. In our opinion, there is no retailer that cares more for this sport than Tackle Warehouse. Its run by anglers, for anglers, and the bulk of assumptions are made by individuals who have never seen behind the curtain to find out these are real anglers that many of you fish against at the local level without ever asking where they work. The changes and decisions that we've all been seeing generally revolve around spreading the workload instead of burning out employees, resolving stock issues, etc... its none of the negative stuff that people assume online (us included). Just an FYI for anyone who wants a deeper glimpse into what's actually happening.
I switched from finesse hooks to kahle for wacky-rigging. The hookup ratio is maybe only slightly better but I almost completely stopped losing fish to jumps and headshakes.
just had some spunk shads in superbug show up last night,Also got the new black jack color jackhammer man those guys look so hot together. Thanks for the video
They don’t miss! Awesome series to watch for Xmas! I have a question. I want to get a chatterbait rod max price 200$ that I can kinda use all around. A lot of the spots I throw a chatterbait are in thicker cover like weed beds. But I want to make sure it will still be good for open water. Thank you!
Hey guys: Great content as alway. Just a few quick thoughts on price. I’ve always said expensive doesn’t always mean good and inexpensive doesn’t always mean bad. Also it may not be the least expensive product but it’s what your getting in terms of quality of product and or quantity you get that makes the $$$ worth it. Just my 0.02$ worth thanks…🎣😎🐝
That is 100% correct! There are "cheaper" products available than those listed in this video. These are the least expensive baits that we trust to consistently catch fish.
I know this is probably the wrong video to ask this question but seeing as its the last day for rod sale i figured id ask you for your guys input. Im looking to get into speed cranking, and with the rod sale going on, I was wondering your guys' opinion on which would be a better buy. At heart, I'm a huge St. croix guy and have been looking at some of the Legend Tournament crankbait rods, but contemplating picking up the loomis 906cbr, seeing as I have seen both of your guys praise through the last few crankbait videos. Any help in advance is very appreciated, and keep up the amazing content.
There's no wrong place to ask. That 906 is AMAZING! That said, if you want to stay with your preferred brand, we've put a lot of time on the Carbon Cranker as well. It's not quite as dialed for that technique, but it's really good as well. If you didn't have them side by side, I don't think you'd notice.
That y’all do this ( and throughout every video you have budget options for stuff) proves that you guys aren’t just trying to sell more expensive stuff for Tackle Warehouse in order to line your pockets. That said I’m happy we are getting into jerkbait, finesse jig and BIG swimbait season.
We started tactical as a way to give back to a sport and a community that changed our lives. We've never wavered from that. The internet is full of guesses and assumptions, but if any of those people spent a day with us, it would be the end of that stuff. Heck, we didn't even turn monetization on for the first 5 years. We really do strive to help everyone, right where they are, regardless of budget.
I get it man, I’ve been watching since you were doing videos on your couch, in your garage and in a ditch of water showing us how a chatterbaits move with the right trailer.
Hey fellows I have a question, I have a 7 foot 2 inch poison adrena medium action casting rod that I love throwing rattle traps on and was wondering if it would be good for square bills on. The rod is labeled reg. Fast versatile. Or do I need a certain crankbait rod. I am a shore angler. Thank you all for all you do.
Just curious what you get for $60 Fluoro vs $20 Fluoro. My experience with Fluoro hasn't been good (granted, I haven't tried anything more than $20) the line always wants to curl and twist. Does the high dollar line do the same?
In your guys's opinion, is the FC leader by sunline better or equivalent to FC sniper? If cost isn't an issue, which one should I be using? As leader material and also bought my first nrx plus and Stella combo yesterday and now I see what you guys were talking about. It's amazing
Never skimp on leader line, get Sniper or Assassin and you will never regret it. They aren't even that expensive if you shop judiciously, I paid $28 for a 660 yd spool last year.
Your best budget bait.. take a kitchen spoon, cut off the handle...drill 2 tiny holes, 1 on top for a ball bearing swivel & a hole at the bottom with a split ring w/treble..😂 GUARANTEE it will catch fish
This series is great for someone like me who’s gotten into bass fishing in the last year or two and is looking to build out a small arsenal of combos and confidence in certain tactics. I’ve watched every one of them and know exactly what next rods, reels, and baits I want to stick up on to practice certain techniques next year. Thank you for linking everything for reference it makes it so much easier.
Nothing jdm is "budget" and megabass falls into that category with all their baits/lures. The zman version catches just like the dark sleeper and lasts wayyyyyy longer. Most these are not actual budget I'll agree with yum though. You could have yum baits cover many of the other baits and trailers cheaper and more "budget" friendly.
We balance price, baits per bag, and fish catching consistency when building this list. There's an endless stream of cheaper junk, all of these are highly effective despite their price tags. 👍🏼
@tacticalbassin there's still a huge difference in "budget" and what many that's listed actually are lol js. And yes there's better budget options for many of those listed that's just as effective. Only reason some zoom stay in the best bang for the buck "budget" imo with the new pricing is the count in the bag but many zoom baits are now priced higher with a lot less in the package. Some have 5 or 6 baits for 6$ that's not in budget anymore lol. I will say it's getting much harder to find actual "budget" tackle with today's economy. Megabass and all jdm bought through a US seller is not "budget" nor is the best option for bang for the buck now. The other cheaper options work just as well and last longer, like the zman gobius swimbait over the megabass dark sleeper. Unfortunately I've noticed you guys have been more bias and affiliate oriented in the last couple years lol but all good I understand. We all have preferences and on social media need a little something to keep it going and worth our time. Have a good one
Speaking of unsealed hook eyes... it hasn't cost me any fish.... but WTH is up with that annoying lil semi circle notch in in the eyelet of the owner wacky?! 😂 is it functional?...
Apparently, you've never met someone who's truly addicted to tackle 😆 We keep our local shops afloat, along with every mom and pop shop we pass when we travel.
@tacticalbassin wrong about meeting someone addicted to tackle, but yall are in cahoots with a tackle company that I'm sure provides tons of free bait to use ,test, and showcase on ur videos hence why I don't see yall buying baits. Ty and keep pushing these gr8 vids
@@tacticalbassinLove you guys. You are generally my go to for tips and I've watched all of your videos that are relevant to how I fish. Some multiple times. I've even gone back to rewatch videos from years ago. But, to be fair. In this video and multiple others, you said you search all around the industry for gear. I've never seen you recommend anything that isn't/wasn't available at Tackle Warehouse.
@@xDx0xUxGx I think that's for our benefit. They probably do use let's say custom, JDM, or more local brands but not everyone can get that tackle. Even if it's "better", some of us don't want to pay crazy prices for custom or pay international shipping.
Hey: Since they’ve been doing this for so long I’m sure they get their fare share of free tackle but still buy plenty of it as well. Either way they give us all allot of helpful advice/content. Thanks

Great video!! Everyone needs budget tackle for sure!
3" Yum FFS Minnow is a budget winner for strolling and a BR head type action.
Very overlooked bait
TW needs to bring back the old holiday sales. I don't want to do 3 different orders for different categories. I want to make 1 massive order.
Clearly, TW has figured out that the 3x50 customer is more valuable.

A lot of these items that come from Japan are about to go up significantly in price due to tariffs in January
Background is super pretty!
I switched from finesse hooks to kahle for wacky-rigging. The hookup ratio is maybe only slightly better but I almost completely stopped losing fish to jumps and headshakes.
I have bags of soft plastics from these companies that I've stocked up on when they go on sale. They make great baits that work.
Thanks for the support Jason!

That's such an amazing combo! You're going to smash them with it!
I would add the Savage Gear Structure Gill in addition to the Dark Sleeper. Better durability and better colors if you are in clear water.

Had a smallie bite the tail off my dark sleeper then bite again immediately, caught that fish. Then caught another one next cast without the tail.
